Once again I haven't had time to get a post together like I planned for the Spiritual Forum. Life has been very hectic for me lately and I've really been tested. First my wife was hospitalized with chest pains, but luckily it was only muscle spasms around the heart from stress (Possibly being married to me). Then my step daughter was out with friends, and someone slipped Ecstasy in her drink and she was hospitalized. Both are doing fine now! The whole time all of this has been going on my forums have been attacked by a bunch of potty mouth terrorists who cry free speech while trashing peoples reputations with slanderous remarks and rumors, and all the while hiding behind alias's. I thought every thing was settling down until the phone rang the night before last. It was my step daughter asking us to come get the grandchildren who she had only picked up an hour earlier from a two day visit at Grandpa's and Grandma's house. My son-in-law had been thrown from a horse and had broken his leg. I'm a tough old bugger, and think the world of that young man, but I almost lost it when I got there. He leg was not just broken, it had snapped just above the ankle completely in half, a complete compound fracture with bones protruding, and his foot was lying at a ninety degree angle to his leg. It was so bad the Ambulance personal called for the Arch Helicopter immediately to fly him directly to St. Louis. Later that night a team of top surgeons managed to save it without amputation but they still fear infection because when he came down and it snapped, the foot rolled under him and the bones drove straight into the ground and the wound was filthy. Earlier that evening, before this happened, I said Lord you might as well stop testing me because I'm not going to budge an inch. We've been through this all before, and I've grown a lot, and I'm not going to second guess myself, so you may as well just pass me. When I was standing there over Jerry with tears in my eye's I had to admit, OK you got me, but only momentarily, I admit you shook me, but it doesn't change a thing. I've traveled this road before, and a thousand failures have made my spirit as strong as steal. Test me if you see fit, but I will not Fail, nor will I falter! Jerry is a construction worker, (builds residential homes) and has been making good money lately. He, and Tammy were just getting their lives straightened out and on level ground. Tammy is recently divorced, and engaged to Jerry. I already call him my son-in-law, we think that highly of him. He was just trying to get Tammy to quit her job the other day. She works all day, every day in the License office and then goes straight from there to college where she carries a full load. She had just spent five hundred dollars on a Biology course which brings her up to 19 semester hours this coming semester, because she is trying to graduate early so she can start teaching. We try to help her with her papers all we can. I know she is experiencing great fear about the future right now since Jerry does not have any insurance and this same type of situation left her Mother Brenda, and I nearly bankrupt a few years ago. We, because of no insurance went from relatively well set in life, to nothing in a matter of months. Then, Oh yes, the terrorists are back in force on my forums the last few days. In the mean time I'm going to hang in there, and look for the opportunity in the upheaval. I've been through so much in my life its hard to shake me, but the real work at hand is holding everyone else together, and helping them sail through the storm. So as you can see things have been a little rocky lately. I would like to ask that you all remember Jerry in the song, and if you will join me in NJ for a healing. If infection sets in this young man will lose his lower leg. Mindy and her group have already been working on it, and I thank her so much. Scientists break speed of light Jonathan Leake, Science Editor SCIENTISTS claim they have broken the ultimate speed barrier: the speed of light. In research carried out in the United States, particle physicists have shown that light pulses can be accelerated to up to 300 times their normal velocity of 186,000 miles per second. The implications, like the speed, are mind-boggling. On one interpretation it means that light will arrive at its destination almost before it has started its journey. In effect, it is leaping forward in time. Exact details of the findings remain confidential because they have been submitted to Nature, the international scientific journal, for review prior to possible publication. The work was carried out by Dr Lijun Wang, of the NEC research institute in Princeton, who transmitted a pulse of light towards a chamber filled with specially treated caesium gas. Before the pulse had fully entered the chamber it had gone right through it and traveled a further 60ft across the laboratory. In effect it existed in two places at once, a phenomenon that Wang explains by saying it traveled 300 times faster than light. The research is already causing controversy among physicists. What bothers them is that if light could travel forward in time it could carry information. This would breach one of the basic principles in physics - causality, which says that a cause must come before an effect. It would also shatter Einstein\'s theory of relativity since it depends in part on the speed of light being unbreachable. This weekend Wang said he could not give details but confirmed: \"Our light pulses did indeed travel faster than the accepted speed of light. I hope it will give us a much better understanding of the nature of light and how it behaves.\" Dr Raymond Chiao, professor of physics at the University of California at Berkeley, who is familiar with Wang\'s work, said he was impressed by the findings. \"This is a fascinating experiment,\" he said. In Italy, another group of physicists has also succeeded in breaking the light speed barrier. In a newly published paper, physicists at the Italian National Research Council described how they propagated microwaves at 25% above normal light speed. The group speculates that it could be possible to transmit information faster than light. Dr Guenter Nimtz, of Cologne University, an expert in the field, agrees. He believes that information can be sent faster than light and last week gave a paper describing how it could be done to a conference in Edinburgh. He believes, however, that this will not breach the principle of causality because the time taken to interpret the signal would fritter away all the savings. \"The most likely application for this is not in time travel but in speeding up the way signals move through computer circuits,\" he said. Wang\'s experiment is the latest and possibly the most important evidence that the physical world may not operate according to any of the accepted conventions. In the new world that modern science is beginning to perceive, sub-atomic particles can apparently exist in two places at the same time - making no distinction between space and time. Separate experiments carried out by Chiao illustrate this. He showed that in certain circumstances photons - the particles of which light is made - could apparently jump between two points separated by a barrier in what appears to be zero time. The process, known as tunneling, has been used to make some of the most sensitive electron microscopes. The implications of Wang\'s experiments will arouse fierce debate. Many will question whether his work can be interpreted as proving that light can exceed its normal speed - suggesting that another mechanism may be at work. Neil Turok, professor of mathematical physics at Cambridge University, said he awaited the details with interest, but added: \"I doubt this will change our view of the fundamental laws of physics.\" Wang emphasises that his experiments are relevant only to light and may not apply to other physical entities. "Hmm. Imagine that." She says, and continues her dusting. Years later her collection of dolls has grown to fill three rooms. Every corner and cranny is filled with something Cabbage Patch. While dusting her collection this time she catches another news story on the tv. It looks to be a political organization celebrating some kind of victory. The news man announces that S.M.A.R.T.--Serious Mothers Against Ridiculous Toys--is jumping for joy over the passing of bill HR0666 which bans the manufacture and sale of any toy or doll that portrays babies in a light that is mocking or demoralizing. Whoever owns these dolls must immediately turn them in to the police or risk being convicted of a felon and face prison time. The group's leader comes into camera view and says to the announcer, "Because of the passing of this bill the self-esteem of babies everywhere has been saved. For the children!" He shouts. The news announcer then reads a list of dolls that are banned. Towards the top of that list is Frieda's precious Cabbage Patch Kids. Frieda drops her duster and covers her mouth with her hands, staring wide-eyed at the tv. "I'm a criminal," she thinks. "Dolls never hurt anyone! How can they criminalize them?" Before she has time to accept what's happened federal troopers burst in her door and arrest her. They were going on a tip they received from a neighbor who was paid well for any info leading to the rest of anyone possessing those dolls which have been banned. So, anyway, the moral of the story is that "absolute power corrupts, absolutely." (I don't know who said this. Somebody historically famous, I'm sure). If you give someone--like the government, or lobbyists, or any political group--the power to do something you want it's eventually going to use that same power to do something you don't want. By giving my power to someone else causes my attention to be taken off of my soul and put on this outside authority. If this person or group accepts the power I've given them, their own soul contact becomes diminished. Since we're both sunk to the level of unthinking beasts the freedom and livingness of myself, the outside authority, or for both of us will decrease until I take my power back or he stops accepting it. A while back Glenys asked me about the benefit of the gathering verses staying home and working with the people. I hope this supplies the answer. For those of you who are new the previous chapters are in Samu's archives. Chapter Seventeen The Ensign to The Nations Continuing with the interpretation of the scriptures let us quote: "And in that day there shall be root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious." Isa 11:10 Here again we have a mention of the root of Jesse from which springs the BRANCH. Many Christian believers, and even Paul himself, thought this may be a reference to Christ, but the correspondence would indicate that Christ is the stem of Jesse instead for he descended from him. The root of Jesse is more likely to precede him as well as the Christ since all nourishment comes from the root. The roots then would symbolize the Father aspect instead of the Son and he who most truly symbolized this was Melchizedek from the days of Abraham. Concerning Jesus' connection with him it is written: "So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee.,. As he also saith in another place, Thou art a priest forever ("for the age" -Greek) after the order of Melchizedek." Heb 5:5-6 Melchizedek was overshadowed by "the ancient of days" and this is the one who called Christ to be after the order of Melchizedek making the order of this priesthood the true Root for the Root feeds and precedes the stem (literally "trunk' in the Hebrew.). Excalibur was a symbol of the keys of this order and Joseph Smith. was the last one who wielded them. From the foundation he laid will spring the BRANCH and one of the members, of the BRANCH will again receive the keys of Melchizedek and be a correspondence to the Root living in our day. There will also be a correspondence to the Rod and eventually all the correspondences will be here simultaneously producing a real living plant. Concerning the Root (and possibly the BRANCH) it is written: "And he shall set up an ensign for the nations..." Isa 11:12 Exactly what is meant by the word "ensign"? It comes from the Hebrew word NEC. Its root meaning is "to gleam from afar" It can be translated as: flag, banner, pole, sign, signal, standard, or ensign. The gathering is an actual principle that governs the evolution of all things. Each time a new leap in evolution is imminent a gathering of intelligence occurs. This happened when humans evolved from tribal living into kingdoms. As the most intelligent tribes gathered into a kingdom an ensign was created that set a standard for other tribes who were scattered. It was not long before the benefits of kingdom living were so well demonstrated that many tribes gathered and formed numerous kingdoms and nations. Then when the new world was discovered an ensign of freedom and self government was set up as a standard and again many of the most enlightened peoples of the world were attracted to this standard and gathered by the millions to America. The question arises: Wouldn't it be better for the enlightened ones to stay with the less ambitious and attempt to stimulate and help them? Answer: The laggards will have cyclic opportunity to be stimulated by their more advanced brethren, but when the day of progress comes the lights must gather or the day of opportunity will pass. Those who left their homes and went to America for freedom and opportunity were often criticized by their friends back home for leaving, but these hearty souls went to the new country and created a new step in social evolution that became an ensign, or an example to the others they left behind. It was not long afterwards that a new type of constitutional government proved so successful that many other nations began to pattern their own constitutions and governing principles after it. It turned out that not only did those who gathered in the new land benefit, but in the end those who stayed behind had positive changes occur in their own country thanks to the example set by the ensign. If those in Europe and England who sought for greater freedom and opportunity would have stayed home few if any of the positive changes would have happened. Even so it shall be with the future gathering. The lights will gather together and create a new society that will be the envy of the world. It will be an example of freedom, spirituality, efficiency, healthy inhabitants and abundance. When new working principles are demonstrated people among the sluggish nations will say - "The Cities of Light are doing new things that work - let us pattern our system after theirs so we too can prosper and benefit." The word meaning "Ensign" was first used in the Bible in connection with Moses and the fiery serpents and was translated as "pole." As the Israelites were traveling through the wilderness they complained against Moses and against God. God then sent a plague of fiery serpents who bit the people and caused many to die. The people of course, began to repent and asked Moses to save them. "And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole (from the Hebrew NEC= Ensign), and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived." Num 21:9 Jesus commented on this event: "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:14-15 The serpent then is a symbol of Christ, either the one within, or the one in Jesus, but the Ensign was that which lifted the Christ up so he could be looked upon. Another clue to the Ensign is given in the following verse: "...lift up a standard (Ensign) for the people. Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold his reward is with him, and his work before him. And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord: and thou shalt be called, bought out, a CITY not forsaken." Isa 62:10-12. Then two chapters earlier we are told: "They shall call thee, The city of the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel." Isa 60:14 The ensign that will lift up the Christ consciousness in humanity then will be Zion "the City of the Lord". This correlates with a revelation given to Joseph Smith: "For behold, I say unto you that Zion shall flourish, and the glory of the Lord shall be upon her; AND SHE SHALL BE AN ENSIGN UNTO THE PEOPLE, and there shall come unto her out of every nation under heaven. And the day shall come when the nations of the earth shall tremble because of her and shall fear because of her terrible ones. The Lord hath spoken it. Amen." D&C 64: 41-43. This correlates with the ancient prophecy: "The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh (Christ) come; and UNTO HIM SHALL THE GATHERING OF THE PEOPLE BE." Gen 49:10 Most Bible scholars accept that "Shiloh" is a symbol of Christ which is quite fitting that the gathering of the people, or the building of Zion will be unto Christ, for the ensign is to lift up Christ so all men will be drawn to him and that all will lift their own Christ consciousness. "Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, (Nations), and set up my standard (Ensign) to the people: and they shall bring their sons in their arms and their daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders. And kings shall be their nursing fathers, and queens their nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet..." Isa 49:22-23 Even kings and queens shall be impressed with Zion and eventually honor her and help to build her cities. "When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in His glory." Psalms 102:16 Just as Moses could not lift up the symbol of the Lord without an ensign, even so must we have the ensign of Zion established before be comes in glory. "Thou hast given a banner (NEC, ensign) to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth, that thy beloved may be delivered." Psalms 60:4-5. Isaiah chapter eleven continues: "And it shall come to pass in that day (the day of the ensign and the Root & BRANCH), that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people (those lights with the Israelite or God consciousness), which shall be left from Assyria (In the Hebrew this means the successful and prosperous people), and from Pathos (The southern countries), and from Cush (The darker skinned peoples), and from Elam (Those who seek out the mysteries of God), and from Shinar (Those who are seeking to leave corruption and want to dwell with more enlightened people), and from Hamath (Those who are seeking protection from possible future calamities), and from the islands of the sea (Not only literal inhabitants of Islands, but also signifies those who think for themselves and raise above the sea of emotions). And be shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, (those who are seen as strange because of unorthodox beliefs) gather together the dispersed of Judah (those who have the true wisdom to rule) from the four corners of the earth." Isa 11:11-12. Not only will the house of Judah be gathered but all of the "outcasts of Israel," all who listen to the God within. Isaiah here presents a beautiful correspondence with the prophecy of the Master: "And he shall send his angels with the sound of a trumpet, and they shall GATHER TOGETHER his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." Matt 24:31 The term "angels" is misleading here for it comes from the Greek AGGELOS and literally means "messenger, or one who carries a message". It may or may not be a superhuman being. "Trumpet" is from the Greek SALPIGX whose root meaning imply "to shake or disturb". "Gather together" as explained earlier means "To gather into one place". "Elect" is from the Greek EKLEKTOS which is usually translated as "elect" or "chosen", but its root meaning is "to make a choice". The elect are those who have power to make their own choices without the consultation of an authoritative figure. They are independent of all but the God within and have "chosen" the path that leads to the Christ consciousness. They are as the wise virgins with the oil in their lamps and can stand alone against all odds and do not have to borrow light from others, but always recognize other lights presented. The word "send" comes from APOSTELLO which is derived from the same root as "apostle" which means "one who is sent". APOSTELLO is usually associated with an enlightened message. "Sound" comes from the Greek PHONE from which the modern word telePHONE is derived and means "to bring light or communicate". Let us put all this together and create a more accurate translation: "And he shall send out his messengers with enlightenment that will shake to the core, and they shall gather together into one place those who have chosen him, from the four winds, from one extreme of heaven to the other." Many of the parables make reference to the gathering of Lights (Israel). For instance the parable he cited after the above quotation is concerning the ten virgins who were waiting for the bridegroom (Christ) and the five who were wise went "out" to meet him at a specified location. There is the parable of the wheat and the tares which tells us that the wicked and the righteous will be together until the end of the world (age) when there will come a separation and the wheat (Israel) will be gathered into barns (the cities of Light) and the wicked will be gathered to be burned. Then there are others: "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels (the cities of Light), but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world" ("world comes from the Greek AEON which means "age"). Matt 13:47-49. It is interesting that the scriptures tell us that the sea stands for "peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues." Rev 15:15 and that the modern day "net" is the Internet, or the World Wide Web. With this in view it is quite possible that the one of the fulfillments of the gathering will be though the interNET gathering Lights from all the peoples of the earth. The parables of the marriage of the king's Son (previously cited) and the great supper are both representations of the building of Zion. Just about all of the teachings of Jesus were directed toward the building of the kingdom of God by gathering the elect. Is it any wonder that he exclaimed: "How often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!" Matt 23:37 Isaiah continues after speaking of the gathering and the ensign: "The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim." Isa 11:13 In scripture all the ten northern tribes were often referred to as Ephraim and the Southern Kingdom was called Judah. In more recent history Judah would refer to the Jews and is symbolic of other men who acquire great wealth or status, such as royalty. Ephraim in this context would refer to the rest of the populace who are true religion. Ephraim has always been jealous of the Jews and has hated them and persecuted them; On the other hand Judah has always been a thorn in the side of Ephraim and has caused him much irritation and vexation. This prophesy tells us that this situation will end and the two will recognize they are brothers and cooperate. The next verse is interesting: "But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines TOWARD THE WEST; and they shall spoil them of the east together..." Isa 11:14 "The Philistines" is a symbol of the non Israelites. This scripture already has had partial fulfillment. When the New world was discovered many who sought self improvement and greater freedom gathered out of the nations and came to America. Later many gathered here because of the draw of various spiritual teachings. In the next gathering many seekers will literally "fly" in aircraft owned by the modern Philistines toward the west and they will spoil them of the east together. Those of the East are the modern Jews whose attempt at building Zion will be overshadowed in the glory of the ensign which will raise the Christ consciousness.. The verse continues: "...they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them." Verse 14 The word "lay" is a mistranslation of the Hebrew SHALACH which means to "Send out, stretch forth, or reach forth". "Shall obey them" is also misleading. "Obey" is from MISHMA'ATH which is better rendered "hearken" or "to hear intelligently". Several possible words are also left out. The ancient Greek Septuagint manuscript has the word "first" inserted twice in this verse. Most important is understanding what is meant by Edom, Moab and Ammon. "Edom symbolizes those who are not thought to be enlightened by the authorities of the earth - the second class citizens. . Moab is literally "her mother's father." Israel, or Jacob's, mother's father was Bethuel which means "destroyed of God" or "broken in pieces by God, or great power". "God" comes from EL from BethuEL and can also be translated as "strength" or "power" and could be a correspondence to the "One mighty and strong" spoken of in Isaiah 28. Those who are to receive the hand of fellowship will be those who have broken hearts and contrite spirits, those who have had their faith destroyed, or those who have suffered physical calamities. Ammon means "an inbred tribe". This would refer to those who are the most literal descendents of Israel or one of the Adams that was sent to the earth. Putting this all together and adding the two "firsts" from the ancient manuscript we have the following meaning: "They shall first extend their hand to the rejected of the peoples of the earth, and those who have been broken by great power, but those who are the most literal descendants of IsraELites will be the first to hear intelligently. It is a fact that a highly evolved entity will generally choose to come through the lineage of others like himself. Thus the descendants of Israelites will most readily hearken to the gathering of Israel. Concerning the gathering Jesus gave another short parable. He talked about Noah and the days of Lot where the righteous were gathered out from the unjust and prophesied of the future: "I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord?... They wanted to know where those who are the "elect" would be taken. Unfortunately, most born again Christians teach the unrealistic doctrine that they will be raptured into heaven, but Jesus said unto them: "Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be GATHERED TOGETHER." Luke 17:34-37 Compare Matt 24:28. The word "body" here is a symbol of the body of Christ or a group of those with the Christ consciousness and the "eagles" are a symbol of the Israelites (enlightened ones). In addition there is another correspondence here. "Body" comes from the Greek SOMA which is a derivative of SOZO. SOZO is the word that is translated as "save" throughout the New Testament,, but literally means deliverance. "Eagle" comes from AETOS which is derived from AER which means flair" or "breath" and is the word from whence the modern word "air" is derived. Air is a symbol of the mind, of those who have risen above the emotional waters of life. The eagle is a symbol of freedom. The eagle flies through the air, or 'the world of the mind and wisdom with great freedom. "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.". The eagle is also a symbol of a free government. AETOS is a good word to correspond to Israelites for they live in the plane of the mind and love freedom of thought. The core meaning of the scripture could read: "Where ever deliverance or salvation is, there will the Israelites be gathered together." Interestingly, the scriptures tell us that one of the main purposes of the gathering is deliverance, and possible physical as well as spiritual protection. How much protection we will need depends on the free will of man and the steps he takes towards peace in the near future. If he is wise then the deliverance talked of will be of a spiritual nature, but if he is not and there is a World War III or earth changes, then a physical deliverance will be necessary. Let us all add our light and love to dispel the fear and darkness that envelops so many that the day may come that light is so universal that a dark corner cannot be found and that love will create such a fire that none can resist being consumed. In fact if you plot the rating of the health statistic for other countries against the percentage of GDP spent on health services there is a reasonable correlation. The higher the percentage expenditure the better the health statistic rating EXCEPT for the USA which is way off the graph. If the medical profession was paid for the results they produce as indicated by the graph showing the results of other industrialized countries, we would save about $500 billion per year, or an amount equal to about 1.5 times the total Social Security budget, or an amount about 1.5 times the total military budget. The medical profession and the politicians who receive generously from the Medical PAC's are only too happy to have our attention distracted onto tax issues, as long as the fundamentally dishonest nature of the system itself is not exposed. Notice how our attention is being distracted by blaming the insurance companies. Do I believe the insurance companies are siphoning off money with questionable practices? Yes, probably as much as 10% goes down that rat hole. But that is as nothing compared with the overcharging by the medical profession, particularly the hospital staffs. I am much more concerned about the damage the medical profession is doing to my financial health than I am about the damage the insurance companies are doing. The insurance companies ultimately have to compete on the basis of free enterprise. The medical profession makes sure that there is a shortage of doctors, AND for the most part prevents nurses from doing independent of doctors many of those things that they are capable of doing. There is no real free enterprise in medicine. I have to use a doctor whether I like it or not. I use what I call the Teachers Index when I look at the pay of other professions. Does anyone really believe that a doctor is worth more than about twice to three what a teacher earns? Or that a dentist is worth more than about 1.5 to 2 times. Forty or fifty years ago that was about the ratio. We may not be able to solve the problem of over priced medical services, but we certainly could reduce the problem significantly if we basically told the medical profession we were unwilling to pay them more than international statistics indicate they are worth. But in vague, seemingly innocuous language in the section of HR 2987 entitled "Notice of Issuance," the legislation says that "any notice required" to be given for a search "may be delayed pursuant to the standards, terms, and conditions set forth in section 2705" of federal law. That section, according to legal experts, lets police delay notification for up to 180 days. That means police could conduct a "black bag" job on your house, search through your belongings -- and not even inform you they were there for a full six months. * It would allow federal agents to secretly copy your computer files and financial documents, and even take photographs of your belongings without ever notifying you. Lobbyists for the FBI quietly inserted the word "tangible" before the word "property" in the following sentence of the bill: "Subdivision (d) of such rule, as in effect on this date, is amended by inserting 'tangible' before 'property' each place it occurs." Since copies of your computer's hard drive -- and photographs of your personal belongings -- technically are not "tangible property," FBI and DEA agents would not have to notify you. The "sneak and peek" provision is such a blatant violation of the Fourth Amendment that it even caught the attention of Republican Rep. Bob Barr -- normally a vociferous supporter of the government's War on Drugs. Barr called the underhanded maneuver "typical behavior from the Justice Department and the FBI. That's certainly not the way to conduct business when you're dealing with people's liberties." HR 2987 also attacks your First Amendment freedoms by creating several "communication crimes." It: * Creates a federal felony -- punishable by a 10-year prison term -- called "Illegal distribution of information." Section 421 of the bill says it shall be unlawful to "teach or demonstrate to any person the manufacture of a controlled substance." Lawyers say this provision could be used to prosecute, for example, an individual who told a suffering AIDS or cancer victim how to grow medical marijuana. * Makes it illegal to advertise -- even indirectly -- drug paraphernalia. Section 5 of the bill says it shall be illegal for any "communications facility" to "post, publicize, transmit, publish, link to, broadcast or otherwise advertise" any sort of "drug paraphernalia" or "controlled substances." So, "if you had links on your web site to sites like High Times magazine, you could be threatened with a count of indirect advertising,"according to Keith Stroup, executive director of NORML. FORCE vs. GIVING A complaint we have received from readers is that we are forcing our teachings upon others. This criticism indeed has an illusionary but interesting foundation. Why do we use the word illusionary? Because no force is involved. The big question is why do some feel that the making of concrete statements believed to be true is force? Let's talk about this a moment. Is it even possible to force your belief system upon others? The Communist Chinese tried it during the Korean War. These mislead souls and others who have no honor for the free will of humankind have discovered that when most souls go through enough pain, deprivation or repetitive programming they can be made to say they believe most anything; but then take them out of that situation and put them back into normal living and they will usually revert to their former beliefs. Thus even a direct forcing does not change inner foundation beliefs. Many totalitarian regimes try to force their beliefs on their people by filtering the information they receive. The newspapers and media are only allowed to report certain types of information in certain ways. This is perhaps the most successful method of all because the opinions of the people are formed with only part of the information available. Even in this country (USA) this is somewhat of a problem. Our media does not generally cover up, but they will put much greater attention on one story than another, just because it goes along with their belief system. This causes people who only form their opinions as a reflection of general information and catch phrases to be very deluded. Nevertheless, in all circumstances there are always a certain number who see through the illusions. During communism in Russia there was a large number of people who knew that the headline on the front page of the newspaper Pravada was not the important news. The important news was always hidden in small print on the back page. This was what the intelligent Russian read first and drew his greatest attention. Even in our "free" country the most important news is often on the third or fourth page, or maybe in a letter to the editor. Who we often forget is the person who is responsible for the discovery of truth: it is ourselves. When we realize this and take responsibility and do not give it to another we will see through the hype and illusion and recognize it for what it is. As I reflect on the various times in my life when I have heard the comment that I am forcing my version of truth on others I see a common thread . The closer I am to a truth that a listener does not want to accept the more he feels forced. Why is this? The reason is that truth itself is the greatest and strongest force in the world. If one is in a comfortable illusion he does not want to see truth. If the truth is presented in the light the person feels great force because that which is seen in light is undeniable. This is the reason that many workers in the light throughout history have often been persecuted or burned at the stake. They present the truth in the light. The illusion begins to dispel. Those in the illusion do not want the fog lifted so they do all in their power to eliminate the messengers of light. If the bringer of light is removed then the illusionary fog remains. Truth is thus a greater force upon the human psyche than any totalitarian regime could ever hope to be. Let's cite an example. Suppose that your kindly and beloved grandfather taught you that two plus two equals five. Because you loved and revered him so much, you accepted this data without question. In fact, because of your respect for him you thought it was wrong to even doubt him. Other people made fun of you for this belief but that did not matter. Your respect for your grandfather was greater than fear of criticism. Then a friend comes along who has no desire to make fun of you, but feels it is time you added this important truth to your life. Here is how the dialog goes: Friend: Come here. I want to show you something. Deluded Person: What is that? F: I have five apples here I am putting on the table. Do you agree that you see five apples before you? DP: Yes, I suppose. F: Now I am taking two of those apples and moving them to the other side of the table. Am I correct in saying I have moved two apples? DP: Yes. F: Now I am taking two more apples and grouping these with the other two. Did you witness me moving two sets of two apples? DP: Of course. F: Notice that I have moved two apples and then taken another two apples and added them together. So two apples plus two apples equals how many apples? DP glances at the four apples and gets a terrible feeling in the pit of his stomach as truth stares him in the face. It is impossible that his kindly grandfather could have mislead him, yet there seems to be four apples before him and the fifth is on the other side of the table. "This is a stupid trick" he shouts as he turns the table upside down. "Take your bag of tricks and get out of my house and never darken my door again!!!" The man feels very angry. This trickster has tried to force his version of truth upon him and has insulted his beloved grandfather. How dare him! This is not the end of the matter, however. The deluded man cannot escape or erase from his mind the image of the two apples plus the two apples equaling four apples. He keeps trying to put it on a shelf or erase it completely, but it comes back to haunt him with much greater force than Chinese brainwashing. As this image looms before him he is faced with a choice: either accept the truth as it was revealed in the light of day or pretend that the truth does not exist. If he eventually accepts the truth he will accept the messenger back as his friend. If he knowingly rejects the truth he will see the messenger as an enemy and try to either discredit or destroy him. He will oppose any type of debate or free thought on the subject and shift his attention to an illusion that makes him feel comfortable. Now the problem with spiritual, philosophical or political truth is that the proving of it is more complicated than two plus two equals four, yet the principle that reveals it is very much the same. Undistorted facts put together in a logical way will lead to the greater reality of four which, if gazed upon by the soul, will be undeniably true. The trouble is that few people are able to look with vision upon the greater reality because their present illusion is comfortable and they do not wish to have it destroyed. All kinds of excuses are made for not looking at the truth. Here are some of them: My religion was good enough for my parents so it's good enough for me. One person's version of truth is just as good as another's. That is your truth, it's just not mine. Truth is relative. I do not wish to listen to your babble. And then , of course, there is: "You are trying to force your version of truth upon me." If you feel forced by another's viewpoint it is probably because there is some truth in it trying to force it's way out. Let me end this with one of my favorite quotes from A Course in Miracles: "The truth is true and nothing else is true." Two plus two equals four and does not equal any other number in the universe. There is a point of truth that is always true and can be recognized by all who tune into the universal soul. I commit myself without apology do my best to present the highest reality possible to those who use their free will to see things as they are. I sit here this Wed. morning crying because my daughter (16) has been absolutely refusing to go to school, especially since our moving has been difficult for her. Today, once again, she did not go and we began yelling. She tells me she really does NOT care about "anything." I am at my wits end. I have tried to deal with this problem in every way I could. She will not get any credit for this entire semester and so now sees no reason to go at all. Her boyfriend has been my carrot, but even that is not working now. She sounds SOOOOO depressed and just says that she does not even care if she lives! I am scared for her. She sits there and calls me every name and says the most hurtful things but I still feel sorry for her. Today I told her if she can't follow the most basic of rules like (going to school) I want her to move out right now. I told her to pack her bag and move in with her boyfriend and his family, (which is what she has been asking all along.) But I guarantee she will not stay very long. She and I have the most intensely "close" relationship. She is extremely attached to me and when all boils down, she will not choose to stay while we move. But her attitude that nothing matters, it really scaring me. So I was feeling a very intense sadness and sitting there not knowing what to do next, when the idea popped into my mind. Well first I thought of writing you all for assistance. Then I thought, OMG, they are just going to say the same thing they said to John and Glenys. It is the Dark ones who are now getting to our loved ones. It struck me as "truth" especially when other areas of my life are going smooth and all the little miracles happening with the move. I have been moved to tears in gratitude to God for making my crooked path smooth. I have been saying the song, non-stop and glorifying God in the highest. My heart is filled to overflowing. I suddenly stopped and realized that perhaps the dark ones are seeing my Light ever the more brightly and strongly and have decided maybe I am getting to be too much of a problem to them. They have tried to knock me down and were unsuccessful. Now they are working on my daughter to see if I will break. NO I WILL NOT!!! Think instead of the fact that everything is meaningful and purposeful governed by one plan of harmony. It seems enforcing rules isn't going to work. Reasoning isn't going to work. Actually the most effective way is to embrace her as she is without thinking about school or whatever troubling you. Just hold her tight to your heart. As you accept her the way she is you are accepting all of your life, the bad as well as the good. In Netscape (I'm using 4.08) it opens up a window that asks whether you want to open the file SYNTHESIS1 using Word or if you want to save it disk. My Internet Explorer 5 opens the document within itself so you can view it just like you'd do in Word. Diabetes is an intensified lesson in taking care of yourself - there are many reasons that may have the outcome of diabetes, but one thing is for sure: when you have it, you are bound to look after what you take in your system, and what you do to control your balance, this is very symbolic as well. It is a tool, whether it leads to loving yourself more or everything going haywire is up to the individual himself. I am sorry to hear your grandson is losing weight, that is a sure sign his blood sugar level is constantly high, I am sure he is always thirsty and so needs to pee a lot too. If this goes on for weeks, there's the chance of going into coma - I suggest you emphasize this fact to your grandson, he needs to start taking better care of himself if he doesn't want to damage his eyes, kidneys and other organs for good. On a brighter note, just today Sharon (thanks!:) shared a wonderful piece of news with me, something I caught on radio this morning as well and originally heard from Jen (Hampson) last fall I think. The doctors (I think this was in the States or Canada) were talking about a possible cure for diabetes, were they take cells from a non-diabetic person and inject the cells into a diabetic person (I thought they said on radio that they inject the cells in the liver instead of pancreas, which sounds weird to me) and the diabetics then go without insulin injections, just taking oral medication. It has become my 2nd nature to take my 4 shots a day, but it is true that it is more convenient to pop a pill in your mouth than starting to inject while in public :) Maryellen, I am sending strengthening energy your way and visualizing you and your daughter being embraced by light as I sing the song. I am still young enough (28) to remember what a mess I was at times when I was your daughters age (16). There were *a lot* of days when nothing mattered, everything was indifferent. I remember how I thought (and I am sure the hormones raging in my body played a big part in my mood swings, that combined with swinging blood sugars) that nobody can understand me, nor help, and I felt like isolating myself from the rest of the world, just leave me alone kind of attitude. Still, if I look really deep inside, I never *truly* hoped to be left totally alone. I think I would've panicked if I had suddenly realized that oh no, they really have left me all by myself. So, I would suggest a very loving approach when it comes to your daughter - let her now that she can have space, but that you will be there whenever needed. I guess it is obvious and I am sure you are already doing that, but I just felt like saying it :) Maybe your daughter feels that the circumstances (you moving) is controlling her life rather than herself being in control, in this she finds depressing? Not caring about anything is saying I feel I can't decide on my life, this often has more to do with the feeling of not being able to choose rather really not being able to, because the choices have been made for you. It is a breakdown in the energetic input system that sees the discrimination of "food" both mental, physical and spiritual sorted out into what is good for you and what is not. The Physical body is the last in a long chain of events where the mental and spiritual attitude becomes manifest. No longer is the entity able to digest the raw material (discriminate) and break it down to what the body needs for its continued survival and growth. The 16 year old is reliving (and unconsciously re-enacting) the memories in this life of what happened at 8years and 1 year. The basic pattern was set when the foetus was 12 weeks in utero .. and often has to do with the acceptance by the mother of the existence of the foetus when pregnancy is confirmed. The relationship hare with diabetes is that if the mother does not really want the child (consciously or unconsciously) then the foetus has to struggle for nutrition within the womb .. and this struggle can manifest as toxemia in the early stages with (often) quite severe morning sickness. The most noticeable outcome in the third trimester is the onset of "pregnancy diabetes" leading to possible eclampsia. The reduced fee/free lunch program at schools seems to work..low income kids get free lunch. Reduced fee immunizations seem to work. I think lots of government programs work. Let's pretend: you are poor and your kid is hungry at school. Would you want to rely on the charity of another family (who may forget your kid needs lunch) or would you prefer to know that your child will be fed regardless of your ability to pay, your faith, your race, etc.? After I had the horrific confrontation with my daughter, I started to regret what I had said about her moving out of here. I told her I didn't really want her to go anywhere. I told her I loved her and am just trying my best. She again screamed and yelled and said I was toying with her emotions. I apologized. I didn't communicate to her what I meant to. After writing you all this morning, I asked her to please get up and ready for her dentist appt. Shockingly she did. I then took my dog to the woods and stood there and said the Song out loud over and over, saying the song at times with emphasis toward the "dark ones." Sort of a shouting, "You will NOT break me down" feeling. I was looking at the beautiful cedars through my tears. This has been such an emotional upheaval for months now. So I drove her to the dentist, all the while she was screaming obscenities and saying hateful things. I stayed silent. She said she would NOT go to school, she would NOT move, and she WOULD go out any time she felt like it. She got out of the car. I sat there crying and praying out loud again. I asked with all my being for assistance from God. Well, here is the surprise. She came out of the dentist smiling. She got in the car and acted as if nothing had happened and proceeded to tell me this... she said " I am actually looking forward to moving a little bit." Again I almost fainted. Tears welled up. I asked her what had happened and she said the hygenist and nurse (2 young women) were all telling her wonderful stories about times they had to move and all the good that came of it and stories of how each was separated from a boyfriend and managed to get back together after years of being apart. Now remember I too have told her many stories and given her all the encouragement about her relationship with her boyfriend, but she just couldn't hear it coming from me. But..............she DID hear it from the 2 "angels." All I can say (on bended knee) is THANK YOU GOD!! She also mentioned to me that she really felt like she would be OK, but when she again saw her boyfriend, she would be torn again. He is sad and reminds her of the struggles involved in trying to keep it together. Then she feels sad for him and wants to stay here. I think all this is tearing her apart. I have repeatedly told her of my love for her and have held her tightly to my heart, but then she drifts away again. I thank you all for your prayers and support. You have no idea how much you have helped. I think our "Light" is growing brighter by the hour!!! :o) I received assistance with her so fast! My faith grows stronger. Together we can move mountains!!! Love and Light, Maryellen P.S. For those of you who felt the urgency I feel with her, I have contacted a psychologist (in fact 2) today for assistance. She was already seeing one, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I will keep diligent and on top of this. I can now see how incredibly powerful "depression" can be and that was what was really scaring me. But we are surrounded by the Light and as I said today in prayers, NO THING can permeate my being but the Light. Thank you all again. When I was a teen, my family moved from New York to Texas. My brother and I got to drive ourselves and were sure we would take a permanent detour on the way. We were convinced, in our minds, that we would never meet any "cool" people in Texas. Well, we ended up here (after 2 weeks) and both of us have left and moved back, several times each.
