It renders the colon more effective by forming new fresh blood, known in medical terms as Haematopaises. I know I am benefiting as well as I am sure many of you are from the suggestions and teachings being offered. I appreciate the comments from Ray and Craig about the problem my wife and I had with colloidal mineral supplements. It is interesting that they give views on both sides of the spectrum. Ray, I am amazed that you say about 98% of your patients have a similar reaction to my wife and I. The funny thing with us is that we couldn't find anyone else who seemed to have a similar reaction to us. I might ask Ray this - were the reactions you noticed similar or were they quite varied? Was it to colloidals from humic shale or artificially manufactured colloidals? And Craig that is an interesting thought about the release of poisons. I considered this possibility, though I was not aware of how the process worked as you described it. There are several reasons why I believe that this may not be the full cause of the problem we had. When we started taking colloidal minerals in liquid form we bought them through a health food store and took them for several months with fairly positive effects. Then we came across Dr. Wallach's approved brand that was sold on a multi level basis and we decided to try this out and possibly sign others up. The first thing I noticed was that I did not like the taste of this new brand as much. It seemed to be off compare to the first. We figured what the heck and took them anyway and by the time we were on the second bottle we both were experiencing pain in our joints and my wife's ankles were about double the normal size. We tried everything for her and nothing seemed to help much until she went to an acupuncturist and after that the swelling subsided. After the problem we both quit taking all colloidal minerals and the problem slowly went away. Because the first brand seemed to have no ill effects on us I am still inclined to believe that there was some contamination with the second brand. We are both a little nervous about trying the liquid supplements again and decided to look to nature to discover highly mineralized food feeling this would be the safest and possibly the healthiest way to obtain minerals. The negative experience certainly did not turn me off minerals for the idea that we have mineral deficient soil and that many of our problems are caused by a lack of major as well as trace minerals registered well with my soul. It also makes a lot of sense to me that the much smaller particles in the colloidal form would be much more usable for our bodies. Another interesting idea along this line is that the water in our bodies is very comparable in makeup to that of the water in the ocean. Now the waters in the ocean have trace amounts of almost all of the minerals. Science is even looking for ways to profitably take gold from the ocean waters. The Law of Correspondences also helps here. It has been said in many ancient teachings that within each human is a replica of the universe and all things outside are also inside us. If we apply this correspondence to our bodies it would imply that for us to have optimum health then we should have trace amounts of all the elements within us, just as the earth and the larger universe does. If we are missing several of these minerals or elements then our balance would be off. Our goal then to fulfill the second consideration would be to find natural foods with high mineral content. Where can we find such foods? Rick gives a good answer "I would think eating seafood would provide most of the minerals you need. I read that ocean water contains the perfect balance of trace minerals." Fish in general are much richer in minerals than is land produced meat. The highest in mineral content, especially trace minerals would be the ocean fish for they swim and eat from highly mineralized water every day. Also from the oceans comes kelp, sea cucumber and several other plants that provide many trace minerals. One good thing about kelp is that it is fairly inexpensive. It has quite a bit of iodine so those with thyroid problems must take it sparingly. Judes and Ra-So mentioned blue green algae and Chlorella as possible sources. I believe the blue green algae from in the Klamath Falls lakes are highly mineralized and are very beneficial. The trouble is that they are very expensive. I find that I receive a similar benefit for much less money from alfalfa tablets. Alfalfa has very deep roots and is able to pull many minerals from the ground that other plants cannot reach. I therefore take alfalfa and kelp every day because they are inexpensive and a great source of natural minerals. I also take a couple cod liver oil tablets. They did a study once of two groups of natives in Africa who lived in similar circumstances except for one. One tribe lived next to a large lake and ate fish regularly and the other ate little or no fish but hunted land based meat instead. The result was that the tribe who ate the fish lived a much longer life span and had much greater health than the tribe that ate little fish. Judes mentions a mineral source that I didn't think anyone would get for a while and that is wine. Grapes as well as many other fruits come from trees and vines with much deeper roots than most of our vegetables. My favorite wines are from Australia which has the most mineral rich soil in the world. I find almost all their wines delicious. My second choice are the wines from Chile. Much of the wine there is from fairly new vineyards which are not yet depleted from choice minerals. Research has shown that moderate wine drinkers are healthier than those who abstain and perhaps the mineral content of the wine is one overlooked reason. Rick makes another statement that is interesting "Also foods grown by hydroponics would be good. When we looked into doing a hydroponics greenhouse, in Stelle, Il. the books say to add a nutrient, made from sea water, to the water used in the process." I was wondering about the mineral content of hydroponics. I am suspicious though. It has turned into such a big business that I am sure many of the producers are more interested in how the tomato looks than how high the mineral content is. If anyone knows any more about the current particulars on this process I'm sure we would be interested in hearing it. Ricks full of good suggestions today. Here's another one: "Also, from am article on building a sprouting cabinet, it says to recycle the water used in sprouting, because it becomes high in trace minerals and other nutrients. And, if you use salt on your food, you can buy the kind that is made from sea water, at the health food store." Sea salt is definitely better than regular salt, but better than that is Spike. It contains dozens of herbs along with sea salt and the best part it has terrific flavor. You an buy this at any health food store and most regular grocery stores. I have used this for almost thirty years now, since it first came out. I buy it in bulk at our local health food coop. And Rick your advice on eating uncooked foods is right on target, but difficult for most of us in our various situations. We'll talk more about this later. Jytte was also thinking along these lines. I know Ren and I were healthiest when we were juicing fresh vegetables, fruits and weeds (actually wild alfalfa and dandelion). Our juicer took out the fiber though. I think one that left the fiber in would be better. But juicing is not its natural form. Natural foods that I can think of would all be considered "salad food." Things like water cress, dandelions, pansies, nasturtiums, young thistle, wild mushrooms (be careful), rose hips etc etc. Except that wait, onions and garlic are supposed to be highly beneficial, but they are definitely commercialized even though some are still available wild. Zia: I would have to add herbs, nuts and seeds... these are delightful and nutritional foods as I see them. My grandfather was a Lapaau Kahuna, which meant he specialized in herbs (and spices actually) and nuts and seeds, and grew some magnificent plants, and supplied seeds around the world... even Norfolk Island Pine Tree seeds, to Norfolk Island!! I have within me a great love of herbs, growing them, finding them naturally, and on food and in teas they are exquisite and extremely healing and one of the most inviting ways to take in our daily water requirements. Nuts and seeds (like sunflower seeds) and almonds etc well trail mixes made oneself are such a delight after exercise at the gym, which restore energy so fast.. with raisins and many delightful (no sugar no salt additives of course) which cuts down dramatically what we eat. In studying the Eastern philosophies etc many herbs are used for longevity and health... too numerous to mention, and one of my favorite herbs presently is basil. I grow so many varieties and dry these myself... from my summer crop so I have this year round... and the smell in the garden and the house...... oooooooooohhhlaaaaalaaaah! I personally think I live on smells and fragrances of flowers like some people live on food! Another perhaps important food, because I see feeding our olfactory organ as beneficial is also perhaps tobaccos (not cigarettes of course or anything manufactured), incences, and of course previously mentioned herbs and flower fragrances, natural of course. I love perfumes that are from the natural oils of the flowers, and thus their energy and essence the body seems to love. I would also have to mention oils and vinegars for their beneficial effects on the body as well. Now what have a left out, always think of something later... When eating another important thing often overlooked, is the variety of color necessary to enjoyment... our body takes in essences and colors in ways most are not aware of. I found to paint the wall of my bedroom the color my body loves the most, gave profound and soothing rest. Anyone entering my bedroom went through a profound experience, FROM THE COLOR!! Understanding that the more we inhale the fragrance of the flower, the more fragrance the flower willingly produces... I believe this 'two way communication and benefit' exists through out nature. That is part of the value of gardening oneself, for the thoughts we lay upon our plants, well they strive to return because they gain pleasure I am certain in our pleasure!! I know there are many detractors to the power of love, especially when love is returned and given to where there is a 'love of power'. I have enjoyed very much to follow most of the discussions and now the energy level is rising for me (as the words are suddenly getting personal and involving layers of some of the more dark sides of human nature). To me true and loving spiritual teaching is words and acts that manage to stand firm in the natural weather of being a human being; in conflict, in anger, in grief, in despair etc. JJ's book was for me so enlightening and heart lifting because it is the story of his life (and his wife of course), and it illustrates for me how Love is working, when I receive the "message" through real living human beings, who have problems like myself. It is the true marker for me, that the message of Love is being used in practical life - and guiding is being given to genuine people. The most difficult thing of living a life in love and light (as I feel it in my life) is to deal with all the things inside of me, which do not understand, or will not understand the law of Love, but persist in its own will - protecting itself and defending its own territory (because it is afraid, I guess). I love the part in JJ's book, where John explains about deception; how we do not notice when the light slowly dims - but sees the difference when it gets bright again. Getting into conflict is always risky business, because there is a chance of loosing the light and follow the part of darkness. On the other hand we need to go in there to liberate the hidden energy, which is trapped. The child (both inside ourselves and the actual children) almost never falls for the mental deceptions. In the tale about the Emperors new clothes, it is a child who dares to tell the truth - and speak out loud, that the Emperor is naked. I do not see anyone who is particular deceived (on the contrary I feel you all are doing very well in dealing with attack and so forth), but I know I often fall into my own traps (or whatever darkness is) - and to me daring to declare my own nakedness - has been pretty liberating. I wanted to add my viewpoint..because the issue of creating, co-creating..from a place of awareness or not is [to me] significant..and JJ hinted at this in some of his last posts about God's attention to humanity and our role in co-creating with him a desired result. So there are two level of co-creation or creation that are significant: 1.Awareness of desire as the main tool for creation. 2. Wisdom in applying this knowledge Even though JJ says that only one thought can be held at a time..I believe multi-levels of intent and desire can be held at one time either consciously or unconsciously. So..if we apply using our ability to create with holding the higher ideals that align with God's purpose in all we create[of course, this is hard if not impossible to do ALL the time] then we do not NEED to picture or assume the outcome..as it will be above and beyond what we can imagine anyway. When my sister passed..my grief was very intense and with child-like desire I focused all my will on Jane and having her back in my life ..in some way..some how with God's help on this. She has shown herself to be reincarnated within my daughter, Caeli, which I would have never presumed could occur; because Caeli was alive when Jane passed. Did I create this? He then complained that it usually worked fine, but that the engine must have been sabotaged by one of his enemies. Then he showed us other discoveries he made, but what made me a little uneasy is that he would pause about every ten minutes and tell us how he had given his life to Jesus. Now I have no problem with anyone dedicating their life to God, but I have found through experience that when this aspect of a persons life seems to be over emphasized in a non religious situation that it is often done for effect to promote some hidden agenda. He went through some interesting technology but his master plan revolved around a system of generating free electricity. He presented a scheme that called for some to invest now so the company could have enough money to go into production. After things got going the first investors would wind up getting free energy for life whereas those who came along later would pay considerable money. My instinct here was that I would lose my shirt if I invested with this guy and Wayne felt the same way. We were both skeptical about the inventions. I felt like the guy was on to a few things, but did not have them perfected yet. Anyway I hadn't heard anything about this company since until a few days ago the people who invited us to the meeting came in our office again. Someone mentioned that nuts would be a good source of minerals, especially pine nuts. Yes, pine nuts would be great, especially if they are harvested from the forests. All pine trees have deep roots. The nuts are expensive, but very tasty and a good source of minerals in the most natural state. Another great source is wild rice. Now many products that have wild rice on the label only has a small amount of the real thing in them. Real wild rice is completely black. It is very rich in minerals and nutrients and takes an amazingly small amount to fill you up. Another source is honey. A wild honey is best. In other words look for a honey where the bees get their nectar from non farm areas such as wild flowers or deserts. If the honey is dark it is a sign that it has a good supply of minerals. Those do exist and work reasonably well if you can get the engineering right. Some companies sell them as pumps, they can pump most anything and not blow up. As for the part about running off water, run DC through water and you get Hydrogen and Oxygen. It's not efficient though, takes far more energy in than you get out. I have buckets of varieties of rice, learning from my wonderful friends in the monastery in Hawaii about almost a hundred different varieties of rice... and so delightful!! At present in cutting down or out a lot of carbohydrates... I excluded this delightful source of nutrients. However, we often cook the 'chinese way' my contribution, because quickly wokking the vegetables etc on a delightful bed of rice... with some interesting sauces sometimes... was very enjoyable and made delightful for a child as well in mastering chopsticks! Needs are restraints, confinements and boundaries. Freedom is lack of need. Judes: I think you are getting all of your terms confused and convoluted, Chris. Like applying non- attachment to creation and now Freedom to lack of need. What I mean is that non-attachment is essential to become more aware and more of the observer...but attachment to desire can be critical to creativity up to a certain point before the incubatory stage begins. So...the term 'attachment' is more appropriate when applied to 'neediness'..so that one is less attached and more observing the needs but not controlled by the needs. Then the 'needs' are seen as catalysts for the power of desire to make changes in one's life productively. We are multi-level beings and our human needs to maintain health, sanity, etc. cannot be ignored. It is okay to not 'need' people by being too attached to others...but a healthier person is one who appreciates the human 'need' for relationship as one of its requirements to emotional stability. Freedom really comes when one KNOWS theirself enough and realistically to utilize God-given abilities to make one's life fruitful and then increase that bounty for others around them at the same time. I appreciate your attempts to enlighten us though...just that sometimes you seem to get 'stuck' on the words instead of the proper applications. I have tried some of your theories and they only work to a certain point. It is like a post that I read in the archives by John Wayne Kline that was expressing the Dark Brothers illusion that LOVE is the mantra irregardless of applying mindful solutions to existing world problems. LOVE is one ray one ray only..it is powerful..but the other rays are significant to complete the true picture of who and what we are and our purpose here and beyond. It is kind of like a person who is taught a skill in a factory..but is not taught to read and write or even speak English. He/She will be handicapped..even though the 'skill' is useful.
