2000 - WEEK 1 Post No. keys-l: /2000-01-01/9412 From: "Sterling D. Allan" Subject: {OT} Fw: Y2K Fooey I thought you all would appreciate this. From: "Y2k Fooey" several and was in one etc. etc. etc. So I would stay alert for a while." Always good advice. And then: "I look foward to all the blind, ignorant, mindless judgemnt that will now come as result of the media whitewash etc. and supposed victory over the Y2K bug... ;'0 Yeah right! (even Senator Bennet said its to early to tell) ..." Hey Blayne, Nice to hear your thoughts. And I will have to say that I agree with much or all of the credible concerns you've raised here. But before you think my earlier praise of the world is just a "yippee for us", I want you to understand where my thinking is coming from. You see, one extremely important concept that we have covered in discussion here is the fact that our "survival" into the future is actually dependent upon our active involvement. Or put another way, our destiny lies "not in the stars, but in ourselves". So, when I consider that we crossed even one small hurdle, in that we managed to come through the night without blowing each other up for instance, I find it very appropriate to recognize that small token. And with that said, your words come in to keep us ever vigilant. An admirable quality, to be sure. Let's just not forget that no victory is sweet who's smallest growth goes by unnoticed. As for media coverage and screening, or governmental involvement's of all kinds, it will always be that eternal vigilance which is required in order to progress. But the fuel of the engine that powers that vigilance, will always be the joy and peace that we carry with us as we meet each challenge along the way. And besides, at least this way, if we fail and someone actually blows us all up, at least we will have appreciated the trip for our time. :))) Once again FOLKS, Blessings, John Post No. keys-l: /2000-01-01/9420 From: J J Dewey Subject Welcome 2000 Dear Friends,, Welcome to the new millennium. I have been being lazy (at my wife's demand) the past couple days and catching up on my sleep. We saw the New Year in together last night watching TV around the world. As we watched the celebrations in the different parts of this little planet from the beautiful New Zealand home of the beautiful spirit Glenys to Hollywood the overall goodness of the human spirit touched me. This is certainly not the time for God to rain down destruction on us as some have supposed. Sterling is to be commended on being a better prophet than Jonah. Jonah was angry when his warning did not come to pass and Nineveh was saved. Sterling rejoices that Y2K seems to not be a problem. He is to be commended for this. What did I do to prepare for Y2K? Nothing. We have about two days supply of food, are 100% dependent on electricity and have no gold, silver or cash stored in the basement. This has been my situation most of my life. But, says one. Should we not be like Joseph who was sold into Egypt and prepare for the worst? The answer would be yes, if we were to receive a revelation that disaster was awaiting us. But in absence of this the words of Jesus are a good advice: Matt 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Matt 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Matt 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? Matt 6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: Matt 6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Matt 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Matt 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? Matt 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matt 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Now there is lots of room for misinterpretation in this scripture. One could throw his hands up and quit his job and expect God to take care of him. Jesus was talking about an attitude of mind here rather than the throwing out of all responsibilities. They key to the scripture is this. That if you truly seek first the kingdom of heaven that the spirit of God will be with you and you will not worry about the future. If some type of disaster is impending, as faced Joseph of old, you will be forewarned and thus a way of preparation will be made. If normal times are ahead you should feel an inner peace about the near future and you can thus live and enjoy the tranquility of the times. Several months ago on Art Bell I heard a Y2K expert tell us how there was a government cover-up on Y2K and that we would need 5 years or more to really fix the problem. He made it sound like the lights would go off completely at 2000 and chaos would be the result. He sounded like a very credible person and his reasoning seemed sound and it almost made me doubt that which I felt within, so I checked again and here is the impression I got from my soul: "Have faith in the highest that is within the human spirit, for It is God in man, and when man trusts the highest he knows all solutions are possible." Thus, man following the highest he knows has solved a problem within a time frame that many thought to be an impossibility. It's a little like the goal that Kennedy set of going to the moon before 1970. Many thought this was an impossibility because we just did not yet have the technology. Then we had the disaster where two astronauts were burned to death and the doomsayers thought for sure the goal would not be met. Nevertheless, we persevered and got to the moon six months ahead of schedule. When mankind as a whole or large group works toward one goal with the highest they know they call forth the powers of God and assistance comes beyond our normal ability. Because we have had no major goal or consensus set for us for space exploration we have made no major gain in space that compares with going to the moon. Will delayed Y2K problems occur and should we worry about them? It is possible, but shortly after they do occur they will be fixed because the united mind of mankind is set on it. I will end this post with a quote from a previous writing posted last April: "The interesting thing about today is that the world is full of religious Jonahs who are eagerly awaiting the prophecies of destruction to occur. These people can't wait for God to come in his fierce wrath and burn the wicked as stubble. The wicked, of course, are those who do not conform to their own interpretation of scripture. "These people can't wait for a beastly dictator, worse than Hitler, to show up and plant some computer chip or bar code in people's heads or right hands. They rejoice when they see famine, war and pestilence as a sign that the end is at hand. The actually look forward to the sea and the rivers becoming as blood, the light of the sun becoming darkened, a great plague of locusts, the death of all life in the sea and a great comet called Wormwood falling on the earth. In addition to the Biblical prophesies there are others who are looking forward to saying "I told you so" about Y2K, earth changes, economic collapse or some banking conspiracy. "Not all, but many of the devoutly religious care more about these prophesies coming literally to pass on the physical plane than they do about the lives and souls of the people who would undergo immense suffering under these conditions. They need to remember the words of Jesus to James and John as they eagerly expected Jesus to destroy his enemies: "For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them." Luke 9:56 "After the new millennium is come in and a decade or so has passed some will become disappointed and even angry that all the prophesies have not come literally to pass, that the world is actually going to hold together as we go into the next thousand years. They will fail to realize that all the prophesies have come true on higher levels and many of them have fulfilled their purpose and need not manifest literally on the physical plane just as Nineveh was not literally destroyed. "When Christ does return he will not slay the wicked in a physical sense with the breath of His lips, but His words will slay the wicked thoughts of men and put such thoughts in their proper place which is the bottomless pit of illusion." Post No. keys-l: /2000-01-01/9121 From: Marylin Subject: NOT O.T., ya hear? HAPPY, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE Post No. keys-l: /2000-01-01/9422 From: Blayne Subject: Re: Welcome 2000 I understand your sentiment and largely agree with it but I don't need any revelation to exercise common sense and prepare for possible bad times, weather its loosing a means of income, an unexpected hurricane or earthquake or mass war such as the one John in your book suddenly had to leave you to go and help avert etc. To think that the Lord is going to warn one of every adversity that might show up is a bit naive since that would thwart some learning experiences. On the other hand I do agree that the more in tune one is with the spirit the better he will see things clearly and know when and what to do. I have first hand experience with the Y2K problem and know its real. I didn't need any new revelation to tell me that so I acted accordingly. Also the more prepared one is when God does warn of some impending disaster the more help one can be to those who cannot hear the warning and the less dependent on God he will be for refuge from the storm at least in a temporal sense. Of course it could be all the preparation may end up useless depending on what's coming but then it could be very useful. So I see no harm in doing what one can in their circumstances as long as it doesn't become ones focus above building the kingdom of God. There are plenty of scriptures to contradict some what the idea of doing nothing. that say to keep the watchmen in the tower etc. Matthew 24:42 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Matthew 24:43 43 But know this, that if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Matthew 24:44 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Matthew 24:45 45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Matthew 24:46 46 Blessed [is] that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. I think the key is to not let it become your focus or God. Many of us were praying for peace and love and light having prepared for what ever may occur. And many of us were told to prepare by revelation etc. So if each is on his own path some may get different instruction then others based on their own hearts. And that's the key follow your heart or inner voice. Love Blayne Post No. keys-l: /2000-01-02/9423 From: Glenys Lowery Subject: OT - New Year Blessings Dear Keysters, Although it's already 2 January here, I couldn't let the New Year come and go without greeting you all and wishing you peace and love for the new millennium. I don't think anyone doubts for a moment that we are living in exciting times and that the years ahead will herald in a new reign of light and loving kindness such that we've never seen before. It is truly a privilege to be alive at this time. I've had a few quiet weeks to reflect on and absorb the events of a tumultuous year and recommit myself to serving my brothers and sisters by doing my tiny bit to assist bring the kingdom of heaven to earth in the coming years. It is my only real objective. This period of reflection has been accompanied by many 'transition' type dreams of late - death, resurrection, new birth etc often all in one dream as I hop from scene to scene. Last night I dreamt that I was getting married (only 16 people were invited so don't book your air tickets just yet) and in the next scene I was choosing my coffin and epitaph for the plaque on the top. I decided it should read, 'She followed the highest that she knew' and I then woke up thinking with a smile, 'there's no praise like self praise' ? But it *is* my wish for myself and all of you. It was great seeing the New Year celebrations across the world. If you were like us, you would have heard ad nauseum that New Zealand was the first to see the sun (apart from a couple of small Pacific island nations who 'cheated' by moving the international dateline (Kiribati) or implementing daylight saving to beat us by 15 minutes (Tonga). We were inundated by overseas guests who wanted to share the experience while most of us 'natives' couldn't have cared less and went to bed after the evening's revelries. In fact, I don't know one Kiwi who saw the first sunrise. Friends invited me to travel to their beach house where they were cooking breakfast on the beach at 5am to welcome the new sun but somehow it seemed an enormous effort to get up at that time of day and I happily snoozed on. I wouldn't mind betting they did the same when it came to the crunch. The most interested group was the overseas media who zoomed around the country filming the first millennium baby, marriage, church service etc. It only occurred to me today that I would have been the first to say the Song and now I'm bitterly disappointed that CNN hasn't contacted me! Anyway, the day has come and gone and we can look ahead with confidence in the knowledge that it is highly likely that Christ will reappear in our lifetimes. I pray that we all remain focused on that likelihood over the coming years and put all our energies into making it happen. It is the reason we are here. Much love and many blessings to you all Glenys -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I have been and still am a seeker, but I have ceased to question stars and books; I have begun to listen to the teachings my blood whispers to me. ~ Hermann Hesse Post No. keys-l: /2000-01-01/9424 From: J J Dewey Subject: Declaration of Peace & Goodwill My Friends, I am reposting the Declaration of Peace and Goodwill part I, but with the addition of part II. Part I has some minor changes. Many there are who are against the nations of the world uniting for anything in fear of a world dictatorship, but we must remember the adage that evil triumphs when good men do nothing. The merging of the nations into a one world order of some sort is unavoidable and will happen one way or another. If the decent freedom loving people stay out of the way and do not participate in the evolutionary process then the chances of having a world wide tyranny is a strong possibility. Instead of staying out of the way we need to be the ones presenting a plan - a safe plan for peace that will insure the preservation of national sovereignty and free will of the individual nations. I do not claim this Declaration to be perfect and realize it is subject to fine tuning in the future, but do believe it is pointing us the right direction. Even though we have little power to promote it at present I am presenting it for free distribution looking forward to the day when it, or something similar to it, will be presented to all the peoples of the earth. THE DECLARATION OF PEACE AND GOODWILL PART I We, the nations of humanity, in order to insure the preservation of life on this planet, and to promote a more perfect peace, unity, and brotherhood among the peoples of the world, do hereby endorse this Declaration of Peace and Goodwill and solemnly covenant to completely disarm ourselves of all weapons that threaten the total destruction of humanity and render them harmless. We will cease all research and production of such weapons and dismantle and/or dispose of them as requested by the Committee of Peace hereafter described. This action is to be taken by us (and carried out within one year of such action) at that point in time when the last of the following nations accept and sign this Declaration: The USA, Russia, China, Taiwan, Great Britain, France, Israel, Japan, South Africa, Canada, India, Pakistan, North and South Korea, Iran, Iraq, Australia and Argentina. This document does not go into effect or bind any nation until the last of these eighteen nations sign it. When the day comes that the final nation of these eighteen endorse the Declaration and puts it into force a great historical day will be reached. This day is hereafter referred to as Peace and Goodwill Day. It will be an annual day of rejoicing for the peoples of the world unto time immemorial. The endorsement of all the nations of the Earth shall be sought out before and after the above nations accept this Declaration, and the accepting nations shall do everything in their power, through peaceful means, to persuade all other nations to sign this document. The weapons referred to which threaten the destruction of humanity include, but are not limited to: atomic, hydrogen, and neutron bombs and warheads - all nuclear warfare, chemical, poison, and germ warfare; any action that may cause destruction or hardship by intentionally disturbing the weather, the atmosphere, the waters, or the soil of this planet; and any other weapon which is deemed a threat to the survival of humanity by two thirds of the members of the Committee of Peace hereafter described. Experience and history have shown us that covenants and promises alone will not keep the peace, and those who put their faith in such generally suffer bitter disappointment and often lose their freedom and self determination. Therefore, we agree that a peacekeeping organization shall be formed. This group shall hereafter be called the Committee of Peace. The Committee of Peace shall be composed of representatives chosen by all the participating nations. Those nations having a population of more than 200,000,000 shall have eight representatives. Those having between100,000,000 and 200,000,000 shall have four representatives. Those with a population between 50,000,000 and 100,000,000 shall have two representatives. Those with a population between 25,000,000 and 50,000,000 inhabitants shall have one representative. Two or more nations with fewer than 25,000,000 inhabitants can combine their numbers and elect a representative. Each representative shall serve no more than six years, but may elect to retire early if desired. No more than one half of the committee members should be replaced in any one year so the Committee should arrange the service years of it members to make this the case Each committee member is to be chosen as deemed best by the nation(s) he represents, preferably by some election process. The main purpose of the Committee of Peace is to inspect the nations of the world and seek out possible infractions of this Declaration. To accomplish this, they are to be given full power of movement and freedom of speech within all participating nations. No advanced weaponry will be classified to members of this committee for purposes of inspection. Nevertheless, each nation has a right to keep its secrets and the Committee will only have power to inspect for the purpose of international security It is true that no one can guarantee the integrity of the persons on this committee, but participating nations must realize that the preservation of life on Earth is far more important than the hoarding of classified projects. Indeed, we look forward to the day when all advancements in technology will be looked upon as benefits for mankind as a whole and not for the glory or benefit of a small group or single nation. The day will come when there will be no classified information for there will be no need of it, but all will be given freely. If an infraction or potential infraction is discovered by a committee member he is to gather all the information available and call an emergency meeting of the Committee no later than three days from the time of his discovery and present his case before them. A vote will be taken as to whether an investigation is necessary and a majority vote must be received for such intensive action to take place. If a majority vote is not received and the said committee member is alarmed at the situation he is free to give information necessary to enlighten the public to the media. The power of public opinion will rouse whatever investigations should be necessary. The Committee will supply reasonable funding for the publication of such concerns by a member. When an investigation takes place at least two-thirds of the committee members must be involved in looking into the infraction, and they are given full power to do whatever research and investigation that is necessary. The results of this investigation will then be written up for the world to read. All member nations covenant to publish the full press and Internet releases of such investigation, as written by the Committee of Peace, in their major newspapers for all their people to read. If a nation refuses to do this it is automatically suspended from representation on the Committee of Peace until it does so. If a nation is in transgression of its covenants it will be subject to criticism and embarrassment by its own people and the world. If a nation is found guilty of endangering mankind then corrective measures will be made by the Committee. After thirty days from the issuance of the corrective measures, the Committee will make another inspection, and press releases will be made. If the offending nation is not making the necessary corrections then its membership will be suspended (if it is a member), and it will lose all representation on the Committee of Peace. All participating nations covenant that they will immediately cease all trade and economic intercourse with the offending nation. Any nation refusing to do this is immediately suspended from Project Peace and Goodwill and the same economic sanctions apply to them. We realize that this may create some hardship and suffering, but there is no sacrifice too great to preserve humanity. If, after a maximum of ninety days (or a period agreed to by the Committee), the offending nation has not satisfactorily dismantled and ceased production of the impending threat, then all member nations must, in full support of the Unified Military, attack that nation and physically remove that threat and force that dishonorable nation to change its leadership to one that will agree to abide by this Declaration. Any nation that refuses to do its designated share in such an effort (in proportion to population, gross national product, and useful services available) shall lose its membership for a minimum of six months and can only be restored by a two-thirds vote of the Committee. The nation which broke its disarmament covenant shall lose its representation on the Committee of Peace for a period of two years. At the end of this time the Committee will take a vote. If two-thirds agree then the offending nation will be restored to full representation. The Committee of Peace shall have power to make its own rules and regulations concerning its needs and calls for assistance. No action of the Committee shall infringe on the rights on any nation, state, or individual for their self determination except as herein stated. THE DECLARATION OF PEACE AND GOODWILL PART II We, the nations of humanity, seek the eradication of war from the face of the Earth, and accept the most obvious fact, that there cannot be a second aggression without a first. A first aggression usually involves the movement of destructive armaments or troops into the territory of another nation or state without its permission. Such an act as this we covenant not to do. We pledge not to be the first aggressor, and if a first aggressor should arise we will unitedly oppose him whether he has previously been friend or foe. Henceforth, lovers of peace are our friends, and aggressors are our foes. Boundary lines of the nations and dominions shall be either as currently established, or to be negotiated when in dispute before accepting this document. On the day they accept this Declaration the boundaries in effect at that time will henceforth be used as a criteria for determining a first aggressor. Any surrender of territory, dominion, or boundary from that day forth shall be through negotiation, purchase, or other peaceful means. After the signing of this Declaration, participating nations shall recognize a first aggressor by one or both of the following actions: (1) By the breaking of his covenant of disarmament as specified in Part I of this document. A non-participating nation is also classified as a first aggressor if he is building and/or stockpiling weapons of mass destruction after Peace and Goodwill Day occurs. After the passing of this Day, the people or nation that works to create weapons that have potential to destroy all life on Earth is a first aggressor, for such an act (when others are striving for peace) is an aggression of the basest kind. (2) The invasion of a nation, state, or dominion by another nation, state, or dominion with armaments or troops with the intent to destroy property, restrict freedom, or take human life. This must be a real deliberate attack and not something that could be accidental in nature. The following acts do not constitute a first aggression and if a nation commits either of the above two crimes in response to them then they shall be considered the first aggressor: (1) The building of nuclear reactors for peacetime purposes. Since all nuclear reactors will be open to inspection by the Committee of Peace, the Committee will decide if an aggressive act is being performed with nuclear weapons. If a nation fears that groundwork is being laid for the building of nuclear weapons they can send their own Committee member to look into it. An attack made because of the interpolation of data is classified as a first aggression. No warlike measure is justified against any nation or people that has not broken aggressive action number one or two. Any such action will be condemned. (2) Isolated terrorist acts, and even assassination attempts do not constitute a first aggression. It is true that such acts are to be condemned, but they are not serious enough to warrant the commencing of a full scale war which could destroy millions of lives. Another problem is that terrorist acts are often blamed on the wrong party. The nation who claims offense may be the one responsible for the deed. The terrorists are to be traced to their point of origin and those responsible should be pointed out to the world and recompense and correct punishment should be sought. If a nation is proven to committed terrorist activities and refuses to give sufficient recompense to reasonably satisfy its victims then it is to be immediately suspended from Project Peace and Good Will until two-thirds of its members vote it back in. Invasion of air space with no attack or damage is not considered a first aggression. Self defense against an identified first aggressor is not to be condemned unless the party is the first to break their disarmament agreement by doing so. In the event a first aggressor should arise, he must be immediately subdued. Aggressive Action One has been covered in Part One and shall be enforced in case of a breach of covenant. The solution to Aggressive Action Two must be pursued as follows and is not open to vote or discussion. A potential aggressor must realize that he will have to be accountable to the nations for his unfriendly actions. When the act of aggression is created the covenanted nations must immediately respond in two ways: (1) All economic intercourse is immediately cut off. (2) Immediate action must be taken to attack and subdue the aggressor by using whatever force is necessary. After the offending nation is subdued those leaders responsible for the aggression will be sought out and tried before an international tribunal. Those who are guilty will suffer the severest punishment the laws will allow. Enforcement and arbitration for international peace will be accomplished through the Committee of Goodwill. This group will be selected in the same way as was the Committee of Peace, but will have the different function of searching for aggressive acts and potentially dangerous situations, and of enlightening and warning the world about them. This committee will see to it that the member nations fulfill their part in their agreement with Project Peace and Goodwill, and if they are not the non cooperating nation will be looked upon as aiding the enemy. A fine will be levied on the offending nation by the Committee of Goodwill. This fine will be compensation for the economic and military support that was withheld, and such nation will not have representation on the Committees until the fine is paid in full. In the case a civil war breaks out member nations agree to neutrality and covenant not to supply either side of such nation in such a state of war with destructive armaments, troops or advisors. In history great wars involving many nations have begun with a small civil war. If no one comes to the assistance of a nation in civil war the expansion of such a war will be limited. Therefore, any nation aiding another nation in civil war through armaments, troops, or advisors will be classified as an aggressor unless it agrees to cease and desist within ten days of such discovery by the Committee of Goodwill. If true genocide is being committed that could destroy large numbers of people, even here the nations must use every means possible before going to war. This may include complete economic sanctions and blockades to insure it and the creation of safe places for refuges. A third committee will be established which will combine the names of the first two and be called the Committee of Peace and Goodwill. Each participating nation will nominate one candidate to be on this committee, but of these only twelve are to be selected by a combined popular vote of the members of the two committees of Peace and Goodwill. Each member will list his top seven choices in order of preference. The first preference receives seven points, the second six, and the last only one. The twelve candidates with the highest points becomes the members of the Committee of Peace and Goodwill. The person with the highest number of points becomes the president. Every three years a new election is held and no one can serve more than three terms. The purpose of this committee is to be a check on the first two committees. They are allowed full access to all of their activities, minutes, and information, and if the liberty or peace of the world is in any way endangered by them, or one or more of the members, the Committee of Peace and Goodwill has power, by a majority vote, to suspend that person from the committee. If the problem concerns the person as an individual then the nation he represents may immediately replace him with a substitute. If the problem is connected with the member receiving unseemly instructions from his parent country, then the twelve will have power to call a general vote of all committees and decide whether of not the discussed nation is worthy of keeping his membership. A two thirds vote is necessary to remove a nation from representation on the committees. If it is removed it may be reinstated by a future two thirds majority. The other purpose of the Committee of Peace and Goodwill is to search out new avenues of cooperation, goodwill, and sharing among the nations. They are to discover and point out cooperative efforts that the nations can unite together on to the benefit of the whole world. The members of all three committees should not look upon themselves as representatives of a mere nation or state, but as a world representative. Each should not be controlled or told what to do by his home country, but it should be stressed that his duty it; to do that which will bring the greatest benefit to the whole world. They should open the consciousness of men to the extent that they look upon themselves not only as a member of a separate nation or tribe, but as a world citizen with an outgoing concern for all the peoples of the world. The United Military To create an arm of enforcement for the international laws of peaceful co-existence the intention is hereby put forward to create a unified world military with one purpose in mind and that is to keep the peace of the planet. There are many nations at present who peacefully co-exists and present no threat to one another, yet maintain separate and distinct military machines. It would be much more efficient to combine the forces of such nations in research, development and production and develop a force committed to peace that none of the offending nations of the world can withstand. The beginning of the creation of this military will begin as the nations endorse Project Peace and Goodwill and does not have to wait for the acceptance of the before mentioned twelve nations. As the militaries of the nations join the individual militaries of the individual nations will be reduced to a bare minimum for national internal security. At least 75% (ideally 100%) of a participating nation's military force will be blended with the Unified Military. Imagine a military where you are training side by side with English, Americans, Russians, Japanese, Koreans, Chinese and others. An important aspect of breaking down the barriers of the nations that each division be multinational. What about the language differences? By the time this Unified Military is established this should not be a problem for by then hand- held translating devices will be readily available. If you are English in training by a Russian you will hear instructions in your own language and in the process pick up crucial phrases of Russian. It would be difficult to see someone you work with as an enemy. Eventually the force of a united military dedicated for peace will be a power that none can challenge. When this day comes no nation will have power to destabilize the world and will be under great pressure to lay down their weapons of mass destruction. Many in the past have feared the nations joining together, even if it is for the protection of the planet, but such military is forbidden to make a first aggression as defined here. Their only purpose is to preserve the peace of the planet and to subdue those who break the laws of peace. In the beginning this military would be fairly large, whatever size is determined necessary to do it's job. But as time progresses and the nations learn to live in peace with one another its size can decrease and eventually when there is no more threat of war become a service organization similar to the Peace Corps of the United States. The Unified Military will be the last entity on the earth to have nuclear weapons and this only as a deterrent to those rogue nations who wish to create weapons of mass destruction. Then when the time comes that all nations have a peaceful co-existence the Military can destroy its supply of nuclear weapons and finally symbolically turn swords into plowshares. Before any judge please hear me out. I am in no way opposed to the idea of world peace and applaud J J's boldness in putting forth his ideas especially in the pursuit of peace, but there are some key things in J J's declaration that are fundamentally flawed in my humble opinion. I respond with respect for J J's opinion even if we disagree and hope you all will take it in a spirit of love and consideration. I am not attacking the man at all just some of the ideas expressed albeit I know he is sincere. So I simply make some observations for consideration. I felt compelled to respond because this is an area I have researched, studied, pondered and prayed diligently in for many years and have received what my inner voice tells me is much truth in this area. And some points here have gone very much against my inner voice very strongly as soon as I read this. I was going to sleep on it before I responded but the inner voice again compelled me to respond now as there is no need to reconfirm what the spirit is telling me. First of all a couple things stick out here to me and that is we already have an organization that purports to trying to do this its called the UN as you know and it has failed miserably and threatens to become a world dictatorship if we continue to give it more power at the expense of sovereignty. Do fiasco's like Kosovo not teach us anything? Second A peace keeping force is fundamentally in opposition to the kingdom of heaven. No state of peace can be forced for that is slavery. And that is the plan of the dark brothers or Satan's to have an orderly world were everyone is coerced or forced to do right (their brand of right). In fact every war and every strife is started because of one individual or group trying to force its brand of right on another. Hitler's Nazi Germany was the most efficient state in history through its force, that should teach us something. The kingdom of heaven cannot be established by any form of force or coercion. Only by patience, love, long suffering and persuasion to the change of heart. One can do good out of duty but it will not last unless one has it in their heart to do good rather then being compelled or coerced no matter how mild. This is the fundamental flaw in most religions they compel righteousness by coercion or fear however mild and in some cases by force or threat. And fail to teach people how to find the Christ within while compelling people by various sets of laws and rules to do good. While these rules can be teachers they are dead works unless the focus is on connecting to the Christ or light within, most seem to have lost that focus today. J J writes: "If the decent freedom loving people stay out of the way and do not participate in the evolutionary process then the chances of having a world wide tyranny is a strong possibility. Instead of staying out of the way we need to be the ones presenting a plan - a safe plan for peace that will insure the preservation of national sovereignty and free will of the individual nations." It has to be the right plan we cannot just get involved in something if its fundamentally flawed. But we need not stay out of the way either we can also oppose the wrong plan. Also with the state of corruption now days it would be very difficult if not impossible to get to the table to even present any ideas and fundamental change in doing things as opposed to the way things are done now. I am not saying we step aside but focus are energy on more productive arenas such as changing hearts. J J writes: "Even though we have little power to promote it at present I am presenting it for free distribution looking forward to the day when it, or something similar to it, will be presented to all the peoples of the earth." The peoples of the earth have to be ready to accept it, this denotes having the mighty change of heart. History and the present have shown that the leaders of nations including our nation the USA cannot be trusted and have abused their powers to the point of many treasonous and heinous crimes foreign and domestic against individuals and nations. So how would we go about removing these leaders and replacing them with righteous leaders? J J writes: "It is true that no one can guarantee the integrity of the persons on this committee, but participating nations must realize that the preservation of life on Earth is far more important than the hoarding of classified projects. Indeed, we look forward to the day when all advancements in technology will be looked upon as benefits for mankind as a whole and not for the glory or benefit of a small group or single nation. The day will come when there will be no classified information for there will be no need of it, but all will be given freely." I don't understand how you can recognized that we cannot ensure integrity in persons on the peace committee (which is obvious from the UN and history) but then say nations must realize the preservation of life on earth is far more important then their political agendas? This denotes force which calculates to war eventually. In other words how do we get the nations of the earth to realize this? If we use any kind of force we defeat our purpose of peace. What happened to your not worrying about the future and God will warn us of impending crisis? The only way the nations can recognize the sacredness of life on earth is for massive changes of heart to take place and these cannot be compelled coerced or forced in any way. They can only come about by spreading the light and love by example by sincere light bearers who have the change of heart etc. We have had many centuries of governments who sought to bring peace to the world by coercion, force and threat of force etc. and so far the legacy of the human race is one of blood and horror on this earth. We have bought up armies and navies and police forces and judges, lawyers, and priests and popes and reigned with blood and horror on this earth much of it in the name of God and peace on earth etc. Will we never learn? This plan while I am sure is of the best intentions has been tried many times and is basically touted as the plan of the UN now days and has painfully shown us that good intentions are not enough. Until the peoples of the earth largely have a change of heart and desire in their hearts to protect each others natural rights and freedoms we will never have world peace. I fear that only some major crisis or loss of lifestyle will wake the masses to their awful situation. Some will malign me as someone who wants to do nothing and not get involved etc. but that is the farthest from the truth. I am involved and have been for years. It starts in our own neighborhoods with us banding together to live in harmony with each other rejecting the babylonian system of cradle to grave security through government by threat of violence through armies and police and lawyers and judges etc., it is wholly opposed to the kingdom of God. This whole focus for bringing peace seems to be on the "arm of flesh" as the scriptures say rather then Gods way. One great American remarked " is life so sweet we would live it chains? God forbid" This quote to me typifies peace by force. I have been involved with trying to form small communities to live in harmony and its amazing the difficulties in people doing this. It takes allot of selflessness and letting go of traditions which few people can these days much less the nations. I prefer more of a live and let live attitude unless someone violates another's natural rights. This is why the founders of the USA established this nation it was for common defense against violators of natural rights some of which are described in The Declaration of Independence. Some might say well you can't oppose J J's plan unless you have an alternative and I do and I have alluded to it above and will go into more detail if the list is interested but I think this is enough for now. I am open to discussion and opposing ideas I by no means claim to be perfect either in my ideas but felt compelled to respond however inadequate words seem in expressing myself. So I would say what does your inner compass tell you? I think the focus on living the highest we can and letting our light shine and resisting tyranny if we must is our best course. respectfully. Several have questioned my posting about my seemingly cavalier attitude toward preparedness. Blayne quoted this scripture as evidence that we are supposed to be prepared: "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. "But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? "Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing." Matt 24:42-46 This scripture has to do with the second coming of Christ and can be interpreted on several levels. First you must live you life with spiritual preparedness so when the time comes that you have an opportunity to be visited by the Master (which shall come at an entirely unexpected hour) that you will be ready. Secondly, we must be prepared in every way spiritually so we can recognize him when he comes again "as a thief in the night." The fact is I am all for preparedness, but I join with the Master Jesus in not putting undue attention on preparations for the unnecessary for he says: "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matt 6:34 The key phrase here is: "Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." What does this mean? It means we have enough evils to worry about in the present day without being bogged down with tomorrow's worries that usually never even come to pass. Here are some great worries that never came to pass in my lifetime. A nuclear war with Russia. I had a bomb shelter as my bedroom in the early sixties because of the worry over nuclear war. Many in my church at that time believed the end of the world was coming before 1970. Between about 1965-1980 conspiracy theories were being spread like crazy and the hidden enemy was so strong that there was no fighting him. About all this antichrist power had to do was to pick the date and the world was his. Every year a new date was picked for the takeover and nothing happened. Finally things got intense. They replaced Jimmy Carter with an actor, so they said. You could tell he wasn't the real Jimmy Carter because he parted his hair on the wrong side. Many members of his cabinet were also said to be replaced. Things were all ready for the great takeover. Time passed and nothing came of this worry. I believe it was the late sixties that several Psychics predicted that California would sink into the sea and the new coastline would be in Idaho. A date was even set and many people became very nervous. A top song was even created around the idea. The date came and went and nothing happened. All those people that moved from California to Idaho and other :safe" areas wasted their time. One of my Brother-In-Laws had a revelation that there would be a nuclear war in 1972 and moved from Los Angeles to southern Utah in order to escape the destruction, but he has since passed away and the destruction never came. In 1979 under Jimmy Carter the Prime rate hit 20% and it seemed as if we would never see good times again. Many felt we were headed toward a depression that would make the great depression look good, but things turned around with Reagan's optimistic policies and now we are going through an unprecedented financial prosperity. A few years ago everyone was worried about the Japanese dominating the world financially. The US and other countries sent representatives there to learn what they were doing. Then a few years later it is the United States that is dominating and now other countries worry about us and are trying to learn and copy what we do. In recent times many have been predicting the end of the world for 1996, 97,98, 99 and now finally 2000. Now 2000 has come and there is no end some will say this is not the true millennium and shoot for 2001 as the real end, but these people again will suffer disappointment. The most recent scare of course, has been Y2K. Intelligent arguments were made on both sides of the scare and each person had to decide for himself if the concern was great enough to make a lot of preparations. These are just a handful of scares that I have lived through in my lifetime that have not materialized. In fact every world catastrophe that has happened in my life were things that no one predicted. After the event, of course, magazines like the National Enquirer displayed psychics who claimed credit for such predictions, but they were always published after the date of the happening. So why are so many deceived by false prophesies of doom time after time? One of the main reasons is that because of a misunderstanding of the scriptures and a tendency of the natural man to expect the worst there is a negative thoughtform that hovers over the human race. This thoughtform is composed of the negative energy of millions of people's thoughts and fears over thousands of years and to tap into the Oneness Principle and discover true preparations that must be made for the future, this dark cloud of illusion must be penetrated. The arrival of the year 2000 with no negative incident created an optimism that disperses part of the cloud. Many have great relief that Y2K did not happen and will look with more skepticism at the next prediction of doom. It would be sad if the next major prediction was a true one for it may be like the boy who cried wolf. What counts here is that there is no judgment of others who hear differently from their inner selves. I am truly sorry you have had some experience from Y2K, but that may have been in your life contract and you were correct in your personal reactions. For those of us who did not do anything extra to "prepare", we also followed our inner selves. JJ Where do you get this idea? Where in the UN is an actual plan for peace such as Project Peace and Goodwill? It does not exist? The UN has not been all failure. If you look at it as some agent of the devil you may see it that way, but looking at it objectively with no agenda it has its good and bad points. Blayne: "Do fiasco's like Kosovo not teach us anything?" JJ You're way off base on this one. The war in Kosovo was fought by NATO lead by Bill Clinton and had to go against the UN charter to even fight the war. Many nations of the UN condemned the action, but had little power to stop it. You seem to get the erroneous idea that the plan uses unreasonable force and takes away free will. The truth is nothing happens with the plan until 18 of the most armed nations agree to give up their weapons of mass destruction through their own free will. No physical force is involved here. Then after the plan is implemented the only force to be used is for self defense after an aggressive move has been made by another nation. You seem to be even against this. Does this mean that you think we should have just sent Hitler lots of love and used no force to subdue him? Or when Japan attacked us that we should have not defended ourselves? This is similar to the principle in the declaration you say you are against. Seeking to change the hearts of man is fine, but if that is all we do then the doomsayers wishes will come true and the world as we know it will be erased through weapons of mass destruction. The religions of the world have been trying to change men's hearts for thousands of years and yet we now face the greatest threat of war in our history because of the weapons that are in the hands of the few. A definite plan is needed and if anyone has a better one than Project Peace and Good will please step forward and give your thoughts. Post No. keys-l: /2000-01-03/9430 From: "Jennifer Hampson" Subject: Preparation We talked a bit about preparation over a year ago, and I want to say a bit more than I did then, having read your posts Blayne and JJ. To me, we HAVE had indications, and plenty of them, that we are overly reliant on others for everything from our food and shelter to what to think. The whole point of soul contact is to develop one's own knowing and self-responsibility. The whole point of preparation on the physical level is to become responsible for one's physical circumstances. As above, so below. As within, so it is without. To say there are no signs of the imbalance that our dependency has engendered, reminds me of the guy who waited for God to save him during the flood and so declined three offers of rescue from passers-by because he was waiting for God to personally come and get him. At the gates of Heaven he asked God why He had abandoned him in his hour of need. God replied " Three times I sent you help and you refused it"! In the course of a few months three cities in my region were affected by loss of electricity supply, loss of gas supply and contaminated water respectively, for at least one week. If that was not a wake up call to those of us who drink water, shop for food and need heating during winter, nothing is. Y2K was just one more possible event that it was wise to be prepared for. What does it hurt to make sure you have essential medication and other supplies essential to life on hand? If they are things you would use anyway then they will not be wasted. If you don't use them, there are many people with less than us who would be glad of them. We have abused our planet, and she is reasserting herself through all manner of physical changes. It is a balancing thing. eg We break down the ozone layer with our pollutants and global warming occurs, which melts the polar ice caps and raises the sea level and the temperatures. If we took responsibility for our part in these things we could avert many of them. (Of course not all of them.) There are so many places in the world which have felt the effects of floods, drought, earthquakes, hurricanes, landslides etc., not to mention war or malnutrition, surely it is just common sense, Y2K bug or no Y2K bug, to make sure that you can take care of those you love (and that might be your family, your community, or even your whole planet depending on who you consider yourself to be), in the event that something happened to that which you were dependent on. The nature of the physical is cyclic. History tends to repeat. Just as we go through Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, EVERY CYCLE can be divided into seasons. Like the squirrel who prepares for the winter by storing nuts in the spring, so too we can put some aside during times of abundance to help us when things are less available. To give a metaphysical example, it has been a time of "spiritual plenty" for me these last couple of years. I have had valuable teachers and experiences around me, who have not always been there in the past and who may not always be available to me in the future, so I want to make the most of them now so that if (when) the time comes where I must fall back on my own inner resources, what I will be better prepared to do so. An even more specific example - I now see death so differently than once I did because now I know and understand it so much better, and this has a positive effect on the way I live. If I'm better 'prepared' to die now, why not be well-prepared to live? Talking of things that are cyclic, JJ you mentioned the stockmarket. Interestingly, when everyone including the 'mums and dads' are getting into the market, (just as they are now, on the back of internet stocks, many of which have no substance) that is the time when the pro's get out because they know that where there is over buoyant optimism and everyone is buying, a correction is just around the corner, and if they wait to get out there will be no-one to buy. Similarly I wouldn't be too quick to be excessively smug about the fact that we have not seen many Y2K problems. An excess in one direction, will often lead to an equal excess in the opposite direction, so that balance is achieved. Obviously if a base of fear or panic or lack of faith, is prompting an individual to prepare, it is quite a different thing (although it may look the same on the surface) to the person who is exercising common sense and judgment which stems from his/her understanding of the way things are. Like with anything, it's not what you do, it is how you do it. The spiritual part is in the how. The very thing that can create a survival situation is having all one's resources outside oneself and not having them within. This in itself is a good reason to prepare, physically and spiritually, whether or not a 'survival' situation occurs. Personally I don't expect the worst, but doing some preparation has certainly given me some peace of mind. I enjoyed the New Year's party I went to without so much as a whisper of concern for myself and my loved ones about what 'might' happen. And I feel good knowing I can now collect the rain in my tank whether or not the water supply goes yukky again, and that I can have a BBQ next time my electric stove breaks down. A spin-off benefit of growing some vegetables (not very successfully I might add!) has been a sense of down-to-earth connectedness- good for someone like me who tends to live in her head. I have also gained greater appreciation for food, which is so readily available on the supermarket shelves but which has come to me as a result of the work of many others and from the animal or plant who gave up its life for me. Truly I am blessed. Happy New Year, all Jennifer Post No. keys-l: /2000-01-02/9431 From: "Sterling D. Allan" Subject: Re: Why Worry? J J, I have to take strong exception with you on this one. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. It is precisely the awareness of the bad that COULD happen that keeps it from happening when appropriate measures are taken. Take Y2K for example. Right now it looks like nothing substantial will materialize on this (though we are hardly out of the woods on it). You might say therefore that all the hype was a waste of time. The truth is that all the hype is what got us sufficiently prepared that this is so far turning out to be a non-event. Another example I will site is how back in 1992 there were a huge number of people in the circles I am familiar with who were anticipating a Soviet First Strike on our country. That didn't happen. If I hear you correctly, your response is that we were foolish to think such thing would happen and to pour so much energy and resources into preparing for that eventuality which didn't eventualize. I would argue strongly that this nation was indeed poised on the brink at that time and such a thing very well could have happened, but that it was because of the repentance and preparedness on the part of a sufficient core of people that averted it from happening. I bet this has happened over and over with various threats. You yourself spoke of how the rise of Hitler very well could have played out to a full fulfillment of Rev. 13, but that the Western World rose to the occasion and defeated this enemy of freedom and righteousness. It is our vigilance that keeps us safe, not precarious. You have this one backwards. Now is hardly the time to get of our guards and stop worrying about what might happen and prepare for it. Sterling Post No. keys-l: /2000-01-02/9432 From: Blayne Subject: Re: Why Worry? I offered those scriptures in the same light you offered the scriptures you quoted you quoted yours as evidence we need not prepare temporally I offered the others in contradiction how is it that yours apply temporally and the others don't? There are many other scriptures that can be quoted to support using common sense to be prepared, its not my intention to get into a scripture bash with you and I agree with you the highest interpretations are those on a spiritual level but this doesn't mean they have no meaning on a temporal level. I don't relay on scriptures I rely on my heart I only quoted them as you did. Second I made it clear that no credible IT professional was predicting an end of the world scenario on Jan 1 it was media and government hype. I am in the computer business there are thousands of documented Y2K problems before and now and on Jan 1 they just have not reached critical mass. Sorry they didn't reach critical mass on cue of the media prophets but it seems they are on their own time frame as IT professionals have said all along but of course that is not as sensational as predicting the end of the world possibility for the media to generate ratings on New Years. When they do hopefully they will not be overwhelming, but have the potential as it takes time for bad data to circulate. And just as you have said many will have gotten rid of any preparations because of the wolf cry. As I said its not a religious issue or prophecy event it is a bonified problem I and many others have seen and delt with in the IT profession. Just as a tornado warning etc. many were warning of its potential but it seems most get their prophecies from the TV these days :-) I would not count it out just yet either it is still working is stuff and its prudent to stay alert till we know the danger is passed. If you know a building has a gas leak and has the potential to fill up and explode you will not enter the building out of prudence till you know the danger has passed and warn others to not enter till the danger is passed where as someone who doesn't know of the leak may enter unknowingly. This is just common sense and that's my point Y2K is real and its common sense to try to avert it especially when its impact is not yet known. Do you buckle your seat belt when you drive? if so isn't this to avert some unexpected accident that might come in the future? That what this buckling your seatbelt. I see no undue pre-occupation with exercising a little prudence for unforeseen problems in the future. Your Idea that a major prophecy did not come to pass is correct but it was a prophecy by media and government not credible IT people pure and simple. thirdly I made it clear also that making it ones focus above spirituality and building the kingdom of heaven was not good either. Of course, but I don't think anyone has ever said there is no benefit in being prepared. "Be Prepared" is the motto of the Boy Scouts of America last time I looked. The LDS Church tells it's members to have 3 months worth of everything they need. And other groups all do the same. There is a difference between being prepared and being a nut case. ;) I think that is the point people are attempting to make. I am personally surprised that Y2K didn't bring people stockpiling everything under the sun or rioting. The lack of failure of basic services is probably the reason. And I'm glad for it, but I was prepared for it as well. I would also mention that prepared or not, you are responsible for your physical circumstances. It really bothers me when people don't do anything about their problems other than blame someone else. If you're not willing to do anything about it, then you deserve what you get. "We have abused our planet, and she is reasserting herself through all manner of physical changes. Even the scientists that came up with it have backed off from it! Satellite data mapping the earth's heat shows that no significant changes have taken place. Not to mention good old thermometers. And as for Ozone, we have only known about the thing for the last 20 years or so. It could be a natural cycle that occurs every 10,000 years for all we know. No reason not to take precautions by not releasing mass amounts of chemicals that are known to cause problems. But no reason to get hysterical either. We know from studying Venus that greenhouse gasses can cause lots of heat if there is a very high concentration of them in the atmosphere. So there is reason to be cautious, but caution does not involve some of the actions I've seen take place in recent years. You cannot cure long periods of inaction with short periods of overreaction. A note for some of you: I consider myself an environmentalist too. But I consider myself one of the few sane ones. Just in case someone wants to lump me in with the "pave the earth" types. ;) "(Of course not all of them.) The necessities of life are simple, food, water, shelter. Everything else is just nice to have. Those things aren't so hard to provide. Even in the event of natural disaster, there are others who were not effected that are willing to help by sending in food, water, medicine, etc.. We are all dependant in some way on others. Unless you have a farm to grow food for your family (including livestock that you butcher yourself), an electric generator, a water purifier, natural gas well (if you use gas), and a large supply of whatever you use to make power. ;) If you use power equipment for farming then you need gas, oil, and the ability to maintain the equipment yourself. All of this is why mankind developed civilization. You let those who know how grow food, and you trade with them to get it. So, for example, someone that knows how to make cloth can trade with someone that makes food. This way both are clothed and fed and neither has to do both, or even know how. It works out pretty good. Worry therefore is opposed to serenity of the soul. If one went along with the soul they would not worry. Instead, they would allow things to happen in their life with peace of mind. Nothing that has occurred would truly go wrong as far as the soul is concerned. This seems to call for some clarification. If things did seem to go wrong in the life of the personality these happenings would help the personality find their way to the soul. The reason being that personality and soul are complementary as well as opposed to each other. It is after all the soul's design that the personality needs to experience what it would naturally worry about. This is not to say however that the personality should not live a life the best they know how. What is best for one might not be the best for another. One should go for what they honestly or truthfully feel in the very depth of their being, whether it is soul in the case of aspirants or disciples or personality in the case of those who haven't had soul contact. We have our young people in many nations supposedly keeping the peace by bloodshed or threat of bloodshed will we never learn? "The UN has not been all failure. If you look at it as some agent of the devil you may see it that way, but looking at it objectively with no agenda it has its good and bad points." Name one of its good points? What has it done to promote peace? As a matter of fact every where it has gone there has been blood shed in the name of peace. It promotes totalitarian government at the expense of sovereignty and things like reduced populations through forced abortions etc. etc. inspite of the public face it tries to put on. I doubt you want to get into all its tenant here but we can on some of them if you wish and we can examine their charter if you like. "Blayne: "Do fiasco's like Kosovo not teach us anything?" JJ: "You're way off base on this one. The war in Kosovo was fought by NATO lead by Bill Clinton and had to go against the UN charter to even fight the war. Many nations of the UN condemned the action, but had little power to stop it." Yes wasn't it convenient that they could condemn it based on their UN charter yet be powerless to stop it. And who is the UN if not the US? Who supplies the UN the vast majority of its peace keeping forces? And why were UN forces in Kosovo supposedly keeping the peace in their blue helmets to signify they were peace keepers while many were being massacred by bombing raids etc.? "You seem to get the erroneous idea that the plan uses unreasonable force and takes away free will. The truth is nothing happens with the plan until 18 of the most armed nations agree to give up their weapons of mass destruction through their own free will. No physical force is involved here. Then after the plan is implemented the only force to be used is for self defense after an aggressive move has been made by another nation." That sounds all good and well but its flawed. First in order to get the nations to agree they need the change of heart and putting ink on paper does not change hearts even if people are allowed to inspect etc. the potential for deceit cannot be monitored enough to ensure compliance. Hasn't the history of this kind of thing taught us this? Second the only way we can have world peace is when no one has the desire in their heart to oppress their brothers this would seem to speak to the scriptures on God cleansing the earth of all unrighteousness. But if no one has a desire to oppress their brother then what need have we of a peace keeping force. I am all for self defense its a natural right and necessary till the time described in the thousand years of peace when all shall know the Lord and there is no need for one to tell his brother of the Lord. And I don't see this coming about by forming a political body to ensure peace with a major army as a peace keeping force just in case a nation gets out of line. Even the threat of force cannot ensure a lasting peace only changed hearts can do that so at the least peace is established through fear of reprisal no matter how subtle that fear is. This is not the kingdom of heaven I want to be in. And who decides what violates such peace in order for nations to attack the offender. We are back to square one, one group of people forcing their brand of right on another the cause of all wars and strife. "You seem to be even against this. Does this mean that you think we should have just sent Hitler lots of love and used no force to subdue him?" Your way off base here and you know it. Hitler was an aggressor and I in know way said we should not resist tyranny. I must have hit a nerve here for you try this red herring. I said we should resist tyranny if we must while we work to change hearts. "Or when Japan attacked us that we should have not defended ourselves? This is similar to the principle in the declaration you say you are against." Please quote me where you got the idea we should not defend ourselves? "Seeking to change the hearts of man is fine, but if that is all we do then the doomsayers wishes will come true and the world as we know it will be erased through weapons of mass destruction." Actually totalitarian rule has been the main government of nations through out the history of the world with few exceptions and were still here. Ordinary men when pushed to the limits are the ones who rose up and fought for freedom but only after suffering more then they could tolerate. Professional mercenaries have never been the heroes of nations for they are war mongers "The religions of the world have been trying to change men's hearts for thousands of years" I disagree the religions of the world have been part of the whole political scene of power and control in the name of God to keep the masses under control for their own gain causing much bloodshed in world history. Many may have started out with the intention of changing hearts but quickly were subverted for the gain of the wicked priests etc. "and yet we now face the greatest threat of war in our history because of the weapons that are in the hands of the few. A definite plan is needed and if anyone has a better one than Project Peace and Good will please step forward and give your thoughts." I will if any are interested. I don't share your faith in creating a world bureaucracy of politicians to bring about world peace. Because as the old saying goes power corrupts and ultimate power corrupts ultimately and history has vindicated this over and over. So no I don't support putting power in the hands of politicians for world peace and frankly am a bit surprised you do in any way. I would be interested in why you think a new bureaucracy would be any better then past and current fiascoes. One LDS leader made a great statement that I think applies universally we don't need more changed programs we need changed hearts. Respectfully. More than any document purporting peace, along with each prayer group individually, our united conscious focus on the 'spirit of peace and joy of celebration' moving around our little planet time zone by zone, birthed the 1000 years of peace upon this glorious little planet. What a fabulous use of technology! I certainly enjoyed all the comments, JJ your peace plan contains wonderful thoughts, and I believe deeply in my soul/Spirit/God being that these thoughts have great value. Yet I wonder if we would perhaps gain by reflecting on everything said to this point in particular by Blayne, Sterling, Jennifer, Travis and Paul, and many great teachers currently putting forward great principles and wisdom. What brought us through from World War II? Since there is such a powerful huge negative thoughtform, with most people contributing most of their thoughts to it, what about the positive thoughtform? Does it not have an equal power??? Or perhaps a greater power, for there are certainly some powerful minds contributing to it! And when we contribute to that powerful positive thoughtform, does it not dissipate energy from the negative? What I see contained in each of your words, all of you so far posting on the Peace Plan, Why Worry? etc is the foundation of how we bring truth into our world and make it a reality. You know for perhaps the last 40 years or less, ENLIGHTENMENT was such a powerful word, and so sought after by so many around the world. Yet there was no document, and no specific teaching about it. Somehow that word created such a desire in so many people to attain this state of being called enlightenment. How was that done? One word, that conveyed incredible change in the hearts and minds of so many and the desire to achieve it! What I see in Blayne and JJ's exchange of using 'scriptures' or words from 'someone else's documents' has been the foundation of dispute since we could read and write. For me that validates throwing out documents and religions!! We each want our words and our thoughts to have such a power to change and back them up with 'someone else's (who is powerful) words, and yet when we indeed look at the United Nations, and our country in particular, the USA, we see that documents, words and 'plans' really hold little value in the final analysis. Yes the thoughts are good, yes they cause us to think, but that is because we have made the choice to even consider them. There are many countries besides even more people who do not make the same choice. Yet most arguments also occur around documents and individual interpretation and that has gone on for more than 2000 years!! And using the same document to prove right against wrong is absurd, yet done all the time, and has truly invalidated religion!! And it will be done by those that value words more than the power of our own thoughts, and uniting of those thoughts, from each individual perspective, honoring the individual! EAch document really had its greatest power during its creation. Arriving at the understanding was the purpose of creating the document. Now wouldn't it be great, if every person on earth wrote a peace document... and we saw the commonality, much more inspiring! I have found the greatest teachers, to teach 'around the truth' so that the 'truth' becomes an individual discovery, and therefore carried out by each individual. When we lay it all out in a form that all must adhere to, we instantly build resistance, resentment, and rejection even though the ideas might be great. That's why we became story tellers. When we teach what we see as truth and then test, we create parrots. When we question, inspire, hint, and create opportunities for individual discovery, we become true teachers. Story tellers are great teachers, not through repetition of telling it the way it is, but through inspiration and tempting one to reason, test the experience and arrive at wisdom, and lo and behold truth unfolds. So what is the real power to change? I see that we have a first hand experience. You could call it the 'new age wave of peace'. Oh uh I can hear everyone screaming at the words 'new age'... but people became aware of the new age coming, and said how can we make it different... it was not by words on a piece of paper... it was by individuals gathering into groups, and creating ideas of enlarging those groups to consider one valuable thought 'PEACE'. And how many of us went and sat on mountains with groups, sat in many different groups joining in creating more and more intense thoughts of PEACE? And as we uplifted our thoughts, ENLIGHTENMENT did occur, and in that reaching of our divinity, we each naturally made the same choice for PEACE. And then this desire for peace was manifesting, in solving problems to ensure that peace as we came into the new millennium (new age hee hee). I for one see a great inherent value in the power of one word, the picture of that word, and the unfolding to each individual from the 'positive thought form' from our soul/spirit/God and our magnificent power to reason, and value our conclusions. Not by making everyone else think the same way, but by giving the freedom to each individual and creating inspirations to find the same understandings. Wasn't life meant to be a journey of discovery?? Seeing the effects of our united thoughts on PEACE circling our little world... well I felt like I was riding on the crest of a wave, and that was for the celebration of the joy of life!! There is such a wisdom in gaining your own sovereignty. I loved Jennifer's comments. Australia is such a big country with so few people, and many in the 'outback' have learned naturally to maintain long term supplies simply because of the distances in replenishing those supplies. Also those living in Canada, deep in snow (as in many other parts of the world). We in America have a supermarket on every corner, and let that supermarket maintain our supplies. Yet there is a peace and confidence and a strength gained from one's own supplies, that is taken from us by being so dependent daily on the supermarket. Perhaps the lesson was to enjoy that sense of freedom and sovereignty that whatever the future might hold, there was incredible abundance in my own life. Yes Jennifer, I love my vegetable garden, not only for what it produces but to understand what goes in to making it produce and how much I come into harmony with all life in producing that food. And we have been told of watching a tree grow and produce its fruit in front of us... well I have all the time lapse pictures of exactly that from my garden. Those thoughts also fill that positive thought form!! Simply the speeding up of time, and there is my fruit tree!!! Done in an instant in my mind, and one day in my reality. I saw the effects of all those gathered so long ago for the convergences... I saw the effect of every time I sought PEACE instead of fear, trusting that inherent spirit within!! And within all, I saw we all wanted the same things, to celebrate the joy of life together. I have learnt profoundly that to create from a base of fear, even the simplest of things, brings forth that fear in its manifestation. What does that look like... well all the difficulties that accompany getting what you want, rather than the joyous celebration of receiving your creation. I believe we are ready for a new way of thinking, a new way of doing, and we have already begun that.. and I believe we will see the power of our thoughts more and more magnified, and the power and upliftment we will realize through this experience will change our world more powerfully than any document that says 'until this is done' oh my goodness, here we go with fear as a motivator. We, the light workers of this earth, have quietly and powerfully created a wave of peace in thought that continuously fed will grow and become that lasting 1000 years of peace. For as we think these thoughts our actions will reflect them, and peace will grow into reality. The wave has already begun. Long before any 'Declaration of Peace'. That is the true unseen power and one worth reflecting upon. Perhaps we should consider that when we have soul contact, continuing to play the games of the personality, and playing upon them, keeps a foot in both camps. That's being caught between a rock and a hard place. Uniting fully with spirit, accepting its quiet guidance, and needing to prove nothing to no one, is profoundly peaceful! Reaching our divinity is union with all of life, and peace joy and serenity the natural outcome, not because we are told to do it, but because it is the nature of reality in divinity. It is precisely the awareness of the bad that COULD happen that keeps it from happening when appropriate measures are taken. "Take Y2K for example. Right now it looks like nothing substantial will materialize on this (though we are hardly out of the woods on it). You might say therefore that all the hype was a waste of time. The truth is that all the hype is what got us sufficiently prepared that this is so far turning out to be a non-event." JJ Sterling, my friend. I think we are in complete harmony here. It is entirely appropriate that the world be made aware of the problem. Any problem must be recognized before it can be solved and if Y2K did create chaos then it would have opened a window for the dark brothers. On a personal level there was little I could do about it except prepare if necessary and my inner self told me that personal preparations were unnecessary. On a world wide level tremendous effort had to be made by those who were involved. It is entirely possible that those who sounded the alarm such as yourself roused those in power to focus more needed attention on the problem. I might add that the $600,000,000,000 invested in the solution didn't hurt either. Sterling, "Another example I will site is how back in 1992 there were a huge number of people in the circles I am familiar with who were anticipating a Soviet First Strike on our country. That didn't happen. If I hear you correctly, your response is that we were foolish to think such thing would happen and to pour so much energy and resources into preparing for that eventuality which didn't eventualize." "I would argue strongly that this nation was indeed poised on the brink at that time and such a thing very well could have happened, but that it was because of the repentance and preparedness on the part of a sufficient core of people that averted it from happening. "I bet this has happened over and over with various threats." JJ When I spoke of worries that never happened I didn't mean to imply that the nuclear threat in 1992 or the many others through the years such as the Cuban Missile Crisis from Russia was not something that needed to be dealt with at the time. But if we could have seen the future back then we could have all avoided a lot of worry over it. My point was that we often spend a lot of unnecessary energy worrying over something we can do nothing about and in the end nothing happens anyway. This was also the point Jesus was making. As far as the tension of war or weapons of mass destruction anyone who has any power or influence in the matter should do all they can to neutralize the situation. I believe that Project Peace and Goodwill which presents an actual solution will give the average person an opportunity to help by promoting it. On the other hand, there are many illusionary scary predictions that are always out there that are centered in illusion and I'm sure you will admit that if we buy in them all and let them all worry us they are likely to make kooks out of there best of us. The popular one now is that about half of the world is going to sink underwater in the next couple years. Actually, it was already supposed to be happening but they keep moving up the date. Sterling "You yourself spoke of how the rise of Hitler very well could have played out to a full fulfillment of Rev. 13, but that the Western World rose to the occasion and defeated this enemy of freedom and righteousness. "It is our vigilance that keeps us safe, not precarious. You have this one backwards. Now is hardly the time to get of our guards and stop worrying about what might happen and prepare for it." JJ I have always stressed being vigilant, but one of my points is to pierce the cloud of illusion and become vigilant toward real threats where such vigilance can make a difference. A real threat not centered in illusion are the weapons of mass destruction and the hatred that is out there because of religious and cultural differences. This is the time to do all in our power to bring the nations together in a peaceful way working through their free will. My point about the ceasing of worry is this: Seek first the Kingdom of God and come into the Oneness Principle. When there only be concerned about what the Spirit tells you to be concerned with. Now with me as an individual the Spirit did not tell me to be concerned over Y2K. It does tell me to be concerned over the threat of the extinction and of civilization and to do all in my power to prevent it. Many fundamentalists have the idea that Jesus is going to show up and exterminate the wicked and somehow force everyone to live in peace. The scriptures are true, but the second coming will not take place as they expect. The picture of bringing peace by killing everyone who doesn't accept you is of the adversary indeed. We must take individual responsibility for our destiny as beings in the image of God, but my whole point was to seek within for guidance through the Spirit so each of us will know our own part. Then if we play that part successfully we will be told what to do for the highest good of the whole, and if we follow it there will be no need to worry, even if the worst should happen on a personal level. By the way your quote "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance." Is one of my favorites. JJ, I wonder that your statement didn't actually say, "we often spend a lot of unnecessary energy worrying over something we can do SOMETHING about.........". The point being, that even if we recognize and attend to some problem area, there is no benefit to "worry". My reply is that how man gauges success and how God and his angels gauge what is important are two completely different things. The number of Jesus name in Greek is 888, which word number in the New Testament lexicon means "useless." If the angels had been able to find but ten righteous people in the city of Sodom, it would have been spared. (Gen. 18:32.) Just ten. Not a majority, not a slim minority, ten. Just think if three or so more people would have repented besides Lot and his family, the city would have been spared. That is not a tall order. That is why I cannot feel that my outwardly "futile" preparations for various possible disasters over the past many years were indeed futile. God and his angels saw my sincerity -- along with the few others who were doing the same -- and the course of history was changed accordingly. No. We were not given voice in Washington D.S. before a joint session of Congress. No, we did not get on national television and make a statement. I agree and the end of the world scenario alarm was media and government hype not from those who understand the problem. However this doesn't mean every alarm is foolish. There seems to be a tendency for many especially media to find the worse nut case extreme they can and then associate anyone who says anything about the situation with the worst extremist. This is a red herring tactic and takes focus off the real problem and effectively avoids most meaningful discussion on the subject. "And again I say unto you, sue for peace, not only to the people that have smitten you, but also to all people; And lift up an ensign of peace, and make a proclamation of peace unto the ends of the earth." D&C 105:38-39 "Someone needs to ask them where their proclamation of peace unto the ends of the earth" is." Many have. The Mormons have gone the way of all religions they have abandoned their roots and the church that stands now is but a shell of what it started out to be and they largely have abandon their original mission although they give it lip service. "It is an excellent idea and someone needs to do it. Why not us?" I applaud your pursuit of peace and join you where we agree I have read the other posts you asked me to and will shortly forward a post clarifying my position on our points of disagreement but largely can agree with you. "My reply is that how man gauges success and how God and his angels gauge what is important are two completely different things. The number of Jusus name in Greek is 888, which word number in the New Testament lexicon means "useless." "If the angels had been able to find but ten righteous people in the city of Sodam, it would have been spared. (Gen. 18:32.) Just ten. Not a majority, not a slim minority, ten. Just think if three or so more people would have repented besides Lot and his family, the city would have been spared. That is not a tall order. "That is why I cannot feel that my outwardly "futile" preparations for various possible disasters over the past many years were indeed futile. God and his angels saw my sincerity -- along with the few others who were doing the same -- and the course of history was changed accordingly. "No. We were not given voice in Washington D.S. before a joint session of Congress. No, we did not get on national television and make a statement. No, we hardly even got a mention in the local newspaper. Yet our efforts were seen by heaven. "Heaven calls the shots, based on our agency. And when heaven sees enough effort toward repentance, it listens. Sterling" Any time a person follows the highest he sees and understands the Spirit rejoices for this moves one forward upon the path and the vision of such becomes more and more acute until the parts are seen as a fitting whole, a beautiful picture. Allan" Subject: {OT} Clinton -- what motivates him This is off topic, but I thought you would find it interesting. It helps answer a question that one of you privately asked me about where I stand and why. A while back I read a book about President Clinton (billed as a fiction) which has given me insight into him and his presidency more than anything I have ever read. The book is called "Lucky Bastard" by Charles McCarry. www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/067944761X/greaterthingsboo To summarize the paradigm, Clinton was handpicked by a legend KGB officer to become the president of the United States while he was still early in his college years. He was a convinced Marxist and believed with his colleagues that in order for the Communist revolution to succeed, it must have its primary base of operations in the United States. Even though he was converted to the cause, those wishing to groom him did not wish to take chances, so they set up a blackmail situation while he was in Europe (still early college days). So when he visited Russia (by compelled invitation) he was put on the leash and told what he would do and how he would do it, and that they would open all the doors for him to fulfill his ambition of becoming the President. Guess who his primary "handler" has been? Hillary. That picture alone explains so very much about him and why he does what he does and why he is so soft on Communist nations and why he is so helpful to them. It is deception and treason of the highest order, but because it has been done by degrees, and because the media is filled with people of similar ilk, his cover has not been blown. The Lewinsky scandal was like a one on a scale of one to ten of the atrocities to which he has been a party. Indeed, the Lewinsky scandal has worked to great effect in insulating him even more in his chicanery. Though he has sold his soul to the devil, I yet hold out a prayer for him that he could yet recognize his folly and repent. Marxism is a satanic counterfeit of Zion, seeking to do by force what ought to come spontaneously from the heart. Zion will not be enforced from without, but will spring like a fountain from within. That is why I am so adamantly opposed to Socialism and the welfare state. The end does not justify the means. Force philanthropy does not have the power to save but to enslave. Sterling D.
