We have not covered principle nine yet of which we wrote:
(9) Another instrument of discovery of truth is the Process of Elimination.
How do you suppose this principle works? Have you used it yourself to discover truth? Many 
of us have used this in the game "Twenty Questions."
I don't believe we received any comment to speak of on this. Either you thought it was too 
simple or perhaps too complex.
Whatever the case this is an important principle of discovery.
Remember the test I gave the group some time to guess which one digit number I was 
thinking of? Since no one was psychic enough to get it you had to use the process of elimination. 
The group assumed that there were ten one digit numbers which are 0123456789. After half of 
them were eliminated the group ceased using the guessed numbers as possibilities. Finally there 
were two numbers left and then one. Surely the number left was it, but I still said no. None of the 
ten guessed was what I wrote down. The group went into deep meditation (a guess). Since there 
are ten one digit numbers and we have guessed them all and none of them was the number then 
the truth may not be as obvious as it seems. Could there be more than ten one digit numbers 
someone finally mused?
Finally someone used the process of elimination correctly and eliminated all positive 
numbers from the equation and realized that the answer could be a negative number. After the 
ten standard digits were eliminated you realized that there were nine negative digits that no one 
had considered yet. In other words, the process of elimination made you consider a possibility 
that you otherwise would have never looked at.
Finally, when you realized you were on the right track it was only a short time through the 
use of the process of elimination that the correct digit was picked. As I remember it was minus 2.
The interesting thing is that we have a number of psychics on the list, but as it turned out the 
process of elimination proved more reliable than ESP.
The truly accurate psychic is indeed a rare thing, but if we can, through the use of mind, 
logically eliminate certain items as false this leads us with great accuracy steps closer toward the 
truth. Any time the seeker has a chance to eliminate a piece of data as false he must rule it out no 
matter how much it goes against his belief system.
Any scientists who honestly uses the process of elimination must admit that there is a God, 
or at the least a higher intelligence than man. All he has to do is study the human cell and ask: 
Could this have been created with no guiding intelligence? Anyone using the process of 
elimination must admit that a creation a million times more complicated than the Mac I am staring 
at had to be created by some guiding hand or Purpose.
The atheist scientist illustrates one of the problems with this principle of truth. An item that 
must be eliminated from the equation can stare many of us in the face, yet we refuse to eliminate 
it.
If the prophet Rambalana takes his believers to a mountain top time after time to be picked 
up by Zor and his spaceship the time should come that the believer should eliminate Zor and 
Rambalana from the equation of truth.
The sad fact is that even when that which is obviously false appears the believer continues 
to believe instead of eliminate.
Take the Jehovah's Witnesses for instance. One of the founders named Charles T. Russel 
predicted the return of Christ in the late 1800's. When he didn't show up he moved the date 
ahead. When he didn't show up again the followers still did not use the process of elimination. 
Russel took advantage of that belief and moved the date ahead again to 1914.
Well, 1914 came and went but still no Jesus appearing in the clouds. Russel himself refused 
to eliminate this final date as being wrong and concluded that Jesus did come in 1914, but he just 
came invisibly and no one saw him. Thus if I understand the current Jehovah's Witness doctrine 
they still to this day have not eliminated 1914 as the arrival date and accept this as the year of the 
coming of the Lord.
I personally grew up in an alcoholic family and pretty much fended for myself and my little 
sister as a kid. I eliminated my parent's lifestyle as a desirable way of life and became active in 
the Mormon Church as a teenager. Then using this same process of elimination years later I 
eliminated certain practices within the church, such as strong infallible authority, as being anti 
spiritual and moved on to greater vistas of learning.
Now let's cover the next two principles of discovery. Her are the hints: 
Hint One: It is important for the student to understand the vocabulary of the teacher and the 
teacher to define his terms. Reading between the lines is important. What is the key word around 
this principle of discovery?
You have given the words: Intuition, perception, discernment and focus. None of these not 
the key word, but make the key word work - and what is it? Answer: Communication. To 
effectively send and receive communication we must use all the skills at our disposal.
Question: How does giving and receiving effective communication aid in discovering the 
truth?
Hint Two: A thousand facts will barely jar the door, but this snaps the lock and swings the 
door open wide to revelation. What is this concept and how is it used in discovery?

If the student doesn't really, calmly, un-passionately look at what is really being said, he is 
driven by his glamour (desires) and will hear things that are not being said, or won't hear things 
that are being said.
I think about inner communication. One needs to see what is happening inside, with our 
emotions. For instance, the guy seemed to be racist, but let's compare to everything he says, is 
there the conditions of true racism, which are ignorance, hate, etc..? This happened all the time 
when I discovered esoteric books. Getting past prejudices.
Sorry I'm a bit OT, but it's a matter of preferring the clear light of the mind to the waves of 
emotion. Pure emotional answer leads us to keep the teachings we are given that are the most 
appealing, including to fear. I think that all of us would have remained at "sunday school" or its 
equivalent if we were only tied to that?
When a teacher answers your question by a bull type answer, there is a cutting of 
communication. "this is so because we say so" ;-) Or "I wont talk about my feelings about it, yet 
you must comply to what these feelings make me accept and teach".
Can there be unjust authority where there is true communication? I don't think so. 
Communication and free will of course. And good living conditions.

Principle. Your "thousand facts" brought it to mind, but then you seemed more to be pointing 
at intuition. Revelation through an energy issuing from the soul and illuminating the personality.

Brings to mind a quote I heard someplace. "Once you have eliminated the impossible, 
whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." ;)

To discover the truth, it sometimes helps to have people to learn from or to talk to about the 
truth you seek to discover. If you cannot communicate, you cannot use other people to learn 
from/with. What you are doing in the list is a good example, you ask a question, and we all 
attempt to answer it. Without being able to communicate, neither question nor answer would be 
possible.

When a set of people are openly, honestly and effectively communicating, the transfer of 
ideas is almost instantaneous. It's easier for a student to understand the teacher, and easier for 
the teacher to understand his or her student's concerns, questions and roadblocks.
When these barriers are understood, there is a point at which the teacher may take 
advantage of this and use the barriers of confusion, etc. to make a point, teach a lesson and 
reveal new Truths and/or Principles.
Until true and consistent Soul Contact is reached, it will be incredibly difficult for any teacher 
and student to be able to take a part in the learning process without using language (body, voice, 
etc.) of a sort. Any use of language will necessitate effective communication skills. :) When 
language is used correctly in a true student-teacher situation, there will be a revelation on the part 
of the student and sometimes even on the part of the teacher :)

Greetings to JJ and all:-)
I must admit that due to time constraints i am dipping into this conversation -- and not giving 
it the full 'attention' it truly deserves -- however -- going by my instinct --- i will submit the word 
'attention' as a 'possible' answer that JJ has urged us to enquire into... 'attention' directs 'energy' -
- focuses it where we -- or our souls see that energy is to be put to the best use -- indeed it is 
probably best that our 'egos' remain distanced from the directing influence of energy -- except at 
a basic level... and leave the 'focusing' to our 'higher minds'? --- aren't we all 'conduits- let us not 
get to big headed and align our egos too much with the 'true' power.. surely that mistake has 
been made too often in the past -- i.e the 'ego' is often a driving force but often clouds perception 
and judgment ---- are we not all 'servants in 'service' to the highest possible that we can each 
perceive? -- the ego has a place --- but it is not the highest. 'Attention' can bring varying amounts 
of contact with the 'higher' forces....

To fully learn from a given teacher you have to be on the same wavelength, literally. 
Communication consists of much more than just words spoken and heard. We give off about 
30,000 signals through body language, nuances, and the feelings that accompanies our thoughts 
and words (which is why it is so hard to lie to a child--they are very open to feelings in the air). A 
student attuned to his teacher and a teacher attuned to his student are communicating; therefore, 
on many different levels: conscious, sub-conscious and super-conscious or physically, mentally, 
emotionally and spiritually. The more levels a teacher teaches at and a student receives, the 
more the student has the principle firmly learned and accessible for use. Truth is of no value if it is 
not of use to us in our lives. What we are being and what we are doing makes truth more 
accessible to us as we learned in a previous principle.

Principle goes along with what I said previously that a principle USED increases our capacity 
for more principles/truth. Principles are the foundation of all knowledge. If we want to DO and BE 
we have to KNOW. If what we are is decision, how can we make a decision without knowledge?
The universe is one of motion (principle) therefore I can discover many facts about the 
universe knowing that: all atoms are in motion, all worlds are in motion, the universe itself is in 
motion. I can also discover that I am constantly in motion and base my more esoteric decisions 
on where that decision is moving me: closer to the example Joshua set or away from it? closer to 
having and giving more free will or away from it? opening my mind to receiving more truth or 
closing it? becoming more soul joyful or more somber? The preceding questions are my process 
of elimination when it comes to truth/principle. JJ is giving us quite a list to use in the process of 
elimination with our discussion. Revelation is always based on our capacity to understand. If our 
knowledge base is small, it follows our ability to have things revealed to us is hampered 
(damned). Understand the foundational truths--the principles--and our capacity for revelation has 
exponentially increased.

The way the search engines work is essentially a process of elimination. To explain it in very 
simplistic terms (which is about as far as I understand it, though my Brother Nathan is another 
story), hey split the list in half, then in half, then in half, then in half, and it doesn't take long before 
they have pinpointed what you are looking for.
If you do that math on the half, it is an exponential like function. I think you will agree with me 
that the speed of the search engines is astounding considering the number of documents the 
must sort through to find the ones with the particular strong of words you are asking for.
They use the process of elimination.

An important element of discovering truth, an element which in my opinion is one of the most 
fundamental factors, is HUMILITY. I wouldn't even call it a tool as though it were something to 
pick and choose from. I would call it a necessary prerequisite. Without its presence to at least 
some extent, truth cannot be discovered.
Pride is the primary attribute that causes one to become stuck in a wrong paradigm, for 
movement requires admitting that one has been wrong. Pride will never admit this, hence it bars 
spiritual progression.
Humility, on the other hand, doesn't care whether or not one has been right or wrong on 
something in the past. It is willing to learn and go with the new knowledge.
Hence humility fits the following description,
"A thousand facts will barely jar the door, but this snaps the lock and swings the door open 
wide to revelation."
A million facts are not enough to budge someone steeped in pride. But one fact given plainly 
to the humble swings the door wide open.
Hence in the gospel of Jesus Christ humility plays a pivotal role. In order to receive a new 
heart (e.g. a new paradigm), one must come forth with a broken heart and contrite spirit. It is this 
pliable spirit into which God can then pour his spirit and change the heart (e.g. the paradigm) so 
that it is now founded on the rock of Christ.

Subject: Christmas Shadows ... (follow up)
There may be those who react from the last posts I placed on this list concerning the 
shadows and the grief around Christmas.
To some, it may appear that the words are a little harsh ... but as I work with many people 
from many different cultural and religious backgrounds, I have found that this is a common story.
My own personal story is no less stark ... the grief in my body was no less awesome ... and 
for as long as I remember I couldn't sing the song "The Little Drummer Boy" .. for even the first 
few notes choked me up with tears.
Now, I have none of that emotion ... and yes, there is even a joy as I sing the song in full .. 
because I confronted the source of that emotion and grief .. and for me, now, Christmas is the 
celebration of the essence .. recovered from underneath layers of Institutional Dogma. only made 
possible because I was able to acknowledge (underneath what I had been told I should feel) the 
existence of these feelings and confront their source to find the truth that lay underneath.

Well Christopher this may come as a shock to you, but I agree with you. I see many people 
suffering from severe depression right now, and the source can usually be found right where you 
placed it, although it wears many disguises.
The tough part is first admitting, and then working through all that repression, suppression, 
and erroneous information. What's even worse is when the person has to do it all alone. When 
the truth is known, I guess that's what drives us to try to help isn't it?
Once through a new Sun rises, and what once was viewed as a Hell, is then seen in the 
New Light, of Life being a great opportunity. How can there be such contrast when we look back?
Life is a miraculous gift, when we discover its true source. Now the great challenge is how to 
share it with others, knowing those that need it most, will prove most resistant.
This situation brings to mind Dante's Divine Comedy, and Divine Tragedy.

Right on, Sterling.
Humility is not just lowering of the lower self. It is a truth about the lower self. It is the very 
first truth upon which to construct the building of truths. Without this foundational truth there would 
be no sound building of truths.
Pride, the untruth of the over-inflated lower self, is ever lurking underneath every thought 
and reaction. It works underground until most emotional disturbances have been calmed down 
owing to the energy work of neutralization. Those who are aware of their pride are the ones 
beginning to work on it. These are the disciples who are rather advanced in their spiritual path.
Humility, being the first truth, is not only a foundation for the building of the whole spiritual 
path, it is even more importantly a foundation for the building of the higher path of disciples.

Yes, the first thing that entered my mind was that good communication required one to 
practice certain virtues. Then, to see which ones, I went back to my "Virtues" page at 
http://www.ont.com/users/rea1/virtue.htm and lo and behold, all of the listed virtues seem to be 
very important to good communication. So that goes along very well with the whole idea that the 
key to communicating, finding truth and getting into heaven, all comes down to always being and 
doing the best that you can. seek ye first the kingdom, and all else will be given to you.

Chapter One
To Prevail As God
The story of Israel is the story of humanity. Israel was a microcosm of the human race 
intended to be an ensign to her brethren. Israel was to exemplify a closeness with God and 
spiritual progress that would be admired and imitated by other races just as Christ lived an 
exemplary life that will eventually be duplicated by us all. The life of Christ fulfilled its purpose. 
Israel did not. The perfect example worthy of emulation is yet waiting to be set. The greatest 
drawback of Israel through the ages has been her separateness -- the chosen people syndrome. 
The feeling that they are more approved by God because of their birth or race. The feeling that 
they are special in Gods eyes above others. Those who claim to be modernIsraelites (Jews and 
non-Jews) do not stop to think that if Hitler had not had this "special" feeling about himself and his 
own people that there would have been no holocaust and no World Was II. This feeling of being 
special, or better in the eyes of God because of some life's mission has been the cause of more 
pain and misery among mankind that any other thing. Equally damaging are unthinking followers 
who support other men or races in this feeling of specialness. Without support these special 
beings could not sew their seeds of destruction.
In this writing we will explore the true destiny of Israel showing how she is to be a benefit to 
mankind and a help to her brothers, and moreover that Israel is lying latent in each member of the 
human race waiting to be awakened.
The word Israel is first used in the Bible in connection with the patriarch Jacob. In the book 
of Genesis we are told that he and a supernatural being had an actual wrestling match and Jacob 
prevailed to the extent that the entity could not escape his grip. Jacob told him that he would not 
let him go unless he were given a blessing to which the messenger agreed and said: "Thy name 
shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel." Gen 32:38 From that time on Jacob was known as 
Israel and his descendants were (and many still are) called "the children of Israel" or "Israel".
Whether or not the story of Jacob is true or symbolic is not important here. The needful point 
here is the meaning behind the whole story of Israel and, more particularly at present, the 
meaning behind the word itself.
The word "Israel" comes from the Hebrew YISRAEL. The first part of the word is derived 
from the prime root SARAH which literally means "to prevail" or to "have power". It is sometimes 
used to indicate a princely or royal power. The second half of the word is EL. This word is 
translated as "God" numerous times throughout the Old Testament. When it is not used in this 
connection it means "mighty" or "strong" and implies superhuman goodness or strength.
If we put these combinations together we have several possible meanings among which are: 
"To prevail as God", "to have royal power as God", or "to prevail through great strength and 
goodness". Some say that it should mean "prince of God", but this is a watered down euphemism 
designed to conform to orthodoxy.
In examining the first rendition ("to prevail as God") one may wonder why such a title would 
have been bestowed upon a man for surely man was not intended to prevail or have power as 
God. Is not this a bold title to assume?
It may seem bold, but it is also quite fitting, for did not Jacob prevail and have power over an 
angel of God, or possibly more than an angel? After the entity left it is written: "And Jacob called 
the name of the place Peniel (Which means the "face or appearance of God): for I have seen 
God face to face, and my life is preserved." Gen 32:30
Most religionists call this personage an angel, but eh Bible does not. The scriptures call him 
two things. He is called "a man" (Gen 32:24) and "God (Gen 32:30). The amazing thing is that 
Jacob being a man prevailed over another person who was called a "god". Therefore, he was 
given a name which meant "to prevail as God" for only a God could overpower another God.
Jacob, however, was not the first Israel for others before him had obtained similar powers to 
prevail. Among them were Abraham, Melchizedek, Enoch, Seth, and Adam. The Israel power in 
man became obvious when man first used his free agency to sample good and evil "and the Lord 
God said, Behold, THE MAN IS TO BECOME AS ONE OF US, to know good and evil." Gen 3:22
The Creators here recognized that the man was to become eventually like unto them ("One 
of us"). They realized that man had latent within him the power of Israel, or the power to prevail 
even as they did. They knew that man was like unto the son of God, or the Creators, and that 
eventually a son grows to be like unto his father.
Moses himself said: "ye are the children of the Lord your God." Deut 14:1. Paul wrote: "The 
Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then 
heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. " Rom 8:16-17 Moreover, God is called "the Father 
of spirits". Heb 12:9.
In addition Paul said: "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God 
dwelleth in you?" I Cor 13:6. If the Spirit of God dwells in man then obviously a God dwells in man 
that is waiting to be recognized. This is why Paul told us: "LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU, which 
was in also Christ Jesus: Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with 
God." Phil 2:5-6. Interestingly we are told to actually be of the same mind as Christ and to think it 
not robbery to be "equal with God". After all it makes sense. Is not a son eventually equal with his 
father? Did not Jesus pray concerning his disciples: "That they may be one, AS WE ARE."? John 
17:11,21-23.
David acknowledged this interesting doctrine: "God standeth in the congregation of the 
mighty; he judgeth among the gods." Psalms 82:1 The word "mighty" is translated from EL or the 
last part of IsraEL. Remember that this word is usually rendered "God". The word "gods" is 
translated from ELOHIYM which is the most common Hebrew word for God. The word "God" in 
"God created the heaven and the earth" is taken from this word. Thus we see that God stands in 
the congregation of those with the power of God to judge among these gods. Then David says: 
"Ye are gods (ELOHIYM); and all of you are children of the most High, but ye shall die like men." 
Psalms 82:6.
Many believers who feel that greatest destiny of man is to drift for eternity in some nebulous 
heaven, or to be some harmless watered down being in another world will be amazed and 
perhaps alarmed to find this doctrine in the Bible, a doctrine espoused by esoterists for centuries. 
They, modern orthodoxy, could be no more upset than were the Jews who tried to stone the 
Christ for claiming to be a god: "for a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and 
because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in 
your law, I said ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the 
scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent unto the 
world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?" John 10:33-36
Jesus himself used this scripture as evidence that he was Emmanuel, or a God among men, 
but he did not use it to refer exclusively to himself, but to all Israel, or those who received and 
recognized the word of God. This reasoning drove the Jews to a frenzy and they again sought to 
kill him right on the spot "but he escaped out of their hand".
This reasoning also adversely affects an emotionally based individual. The God within must 
be recognized by the intuition and the feeling man cannot properly sense it, even if his religion 
teaches it, and he becomes angry at others who teach such doctrines and many of them would 
relish a return to the days of the inquisitions.
There are many scriptures indicating that there is a god in man for man is often called a god 
in the Bible. The children of Heth were so impressed with Abraham that they called him a "mighty 
prince" Gen 23:6 This, however, is a mistranslation. Prince comes from the Hebrew NASIY which 
literally means "exalted one" and "mighty" comes from ELOHIYM the word for God. A more 
correct translation would be: "exalted God". The sons of Heth indeed marveled at the power of 
Israel in Abraham for he did prevail as a god in their eyes.
The judges in ancient Israel were often called "gods", but it is usually mistranslated for the 
sake of orthodoxy: "If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought to the 
judges (ELOHIYM - Gods), to see whether he put his hand unto his neighbor's goods. For all 
manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost 
thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges 
(ELOHIYM); and whom the judges (ELOHIYM) shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his 
neighbor." Exodus 22:8-9
This word is translated correctly a few verses later: "Thou shall not revile the Gods 
(ELOHIYM), nor curse the ruler of thy people." Ex 22:28. King James Version.
Jehovah himself approves of calling one with the power of Israel a god for he said to Moses: 
"I have made thee a god (ELOHIYM) to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall by thy prophet." Ex 
7:1 He also said: "He (Aaron) will do all the speaking to the people for you, he will be the 
mouthpiece and you will be the god (ELOHIYM) he speaks for." Ex 4:16 New English.
Moses was indeed a true Israelite for he prevailed as a god, as did Jacob, did and got the 
best of another ELOHIYM. God was dismayed at Israel because they disobeyed him and built the 
golden calf and had decided to destroy them all. The problem God faced in destroying them is 
that it would interfere with his promise to Abraham and to fulfill this promise he had to keep some 
of the promised see for breeding so he told Moses: "Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath 
may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation." 
Ex 32:10
Moses did not want all of his labors with the people to have been in vain so he reasoned with 
God and told him how embarrassing it would be before the eyes of the Egyptians. They would 
think that there is something wrong with a god that would save a people just to destroy them in 
the wilderness. Then Moses reminded God that he may not be able to completely fulfill his 
promise to Abraham if he destroyed the whole house of Israel and left Moses alone. Moses still 
had his free will and if he did not cooperate it would be possible that the promise could not be 
fulfilled making God a covenant breaker. Thus through the powerful reasoning of Moses God was 
forced to change his mind. It is written: "And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do 
unto his people." Exodus 32:14 (Read the whole chapter.)
It should not be surprising that men like Moses and Jacob can prevail among the gods for 
when man was created "God said, Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness. . ." Gen 
1:26 Man is then a reflection of God and has an unrecognized god within and can eventually have 
all the power of the creators "for the spirit of God dwelleth in us".
It is written that man was made "a little lower than the angels . . ."Psalms 8:5, but this is a 
mistranslation. The Hebrew word from which angels is taken here is ELOHIYM so it should be 
written than man is "a little lower than the Gods". He is a little lower, but when he recognizes the 
god within he can advance to the God Kingdom, or the kingdom of the Gods, and then recognize 
the higher beings in the universe as his brothers.
We are told that Christ "is the image of God" II Cor 4:4 and in this relation John said: 
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know 
that, when he shall appear, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM; for we shall see him as he is." I John 3:2
Those who shall be like him when he shall appear are Israel, the people who can prevail as 
God, those who submit to the will of the god within.

Time to catch up on some questions comments.
Sterling made a good comment on humility and Paul gave some good supporting comments 
that I actually agreed with. What a way to start the approaching millennium!
I have to take issue with Chris on the football game thing. To say that a highly evolved 
person will not take sides in a game because it does not matter who wins I believe to be an 
illusionary statement.
I don't think one can get much of enjoyment out of a game unless you do have a favorite. If 
you just watch the game for the game's sake and to appreciate the skill of the players then you 
might as well watch last year's Superbowl rather than the current one.
If I turn on a game and don't have a clue as to the background or history of the team I just 
don't have enough interest to watch. Sure it's mildly interesting to watch a great play of some 
unknown team, but I would rather watch a bad performance of a team I know and like.
So where does this idea come from that if we are advanced on the Path that we will just 
cease to feel and not give a hoot about who wins what?
The problem is that many great teachers in the East have put emphasis on the overriding, 
control, directing and sometimes neutralization or elimination of emotion in order to reach higher 
states of consciousness. Many students have interpreted this to mean that we should "kill out 
desire" completely, move beyond it and never experience it again.
This is an extremist point of view and as Buddha taught neither extreme is the path to 
liberation.
What then have the teachers really meant when they taught thus about desire and feeling?
Perhaps the best summation of this is the admonition of Jesus to "live in the world, but not 
be of the world."
The high initiate is expected to not be of the world to the extent that he is able to have power 
to neutralize or at least direct his feelings and change directions at the drop of a hat if the 
Purpose of God so requires it. It takes many lifetimes before this point is reached.
On the other hand, when desire is not out of alignment with purpose it is good judgment to 
be "of the world," and let your emotions play themselves out intelligently. When the disciple is 
appropriately "of the world," he will love and feel passion with the best of them. If there is a 
contest he will be happy to cheer for a certain side. Why deny yourself of such a pleasure when 
there is no purpose in it?
When a question of the right or wrongness of a philosophy comes up, in addition to looking 
within to the soul, I also look at the great initiates of history and see if their actions confirm what I 
have received. Time and time again it does and this is no exception.
Two of the greatest initiates in the United States were George Washington and Abraham 
Lincoln. Both were leaders in the most stressful game of all called war and both of them took 
definite sides and were extremely concerned about the outcome. One thing that really concerned 
Lincoln is that he often was much more concerned than his generals seemed to be. All McClellan 
seemed to want to do is show off rather than win and this attitude about drove Lincoln around the 
bend.
In more recent times Winston Churchill replaced Chamberlain who had a cavalier attitude 
toward Hitler that lead the World into war. Churchill took a definite side and had an extreme 
interest in the outcome.
DK in writing through Alice A. Bailey said that the Christ himself took the side of the Allies 
during the war and worked behind the scenes to assure victory.
Some have expressed irritation that I have defined the word channeling for this class. They 
seem to think I have arrogantly redefined a dictionary definition for the entire world.
As far as the dictionaries go they do not give a very specific definition for channeling and 
many differing groups use the word with different meanings. Because of this I defined the word 
FOR THE CLASS, not for the world.
Let me repeat myself here. When sending or receiving it is important that we apply similar 
meanings to the same word. If I say the word "channel" and I am referring to an astral entity 
possessing the body of a medium and you think I am referring to mental telepathy because you 
define it different then confusion is the result.
In a class the definition of a word is what the group agrees upon, I'm sure there are other 
classes on the web where the word channeling is used to include mental telepathy. Does this 
bother me?
No. It's still a free Web.
 The teacher of any class has the right to define his terms in what he sees the best interest of 
learning. If anyone disagrees with this I would like to know the reason why?
If I want to call an orange an apple to make a point while teaching then why complain about 
it?
By the way there is the brightest full moon in a long time at 12:38 A.M. MST 2:30 A.M. EST. 
The full moon opens a door that makes contact with the Brotherhood a little easier. A good time 
to meditate.

bury the dead.. I know some people who fancy themselves as spiritual, who pride themselves on

they are on some schedule where they get watered every once in awhile. I'm with you, J.J. there

Interesting night last night. Full moon at the solstice. The moon looked huge and very bright 
here, at one point surrounded by a corona of reddish gold. Like the sun and moon had come 
together. (They were, I am told, the closest they have been in 133 years). To me, it was the 
feminine principle and the masculine principle merging. I wonder what their offspring will be. 
Maybe raised Christ consciousness in this season. But I do know that the world I woke up to at 
sunrise is different to the world I went to sleep in last night.

Seasons Greetings All,
I am grateful to you all. I feel so much gratitude for your being in my life. 
I feel like the Keysters have become my 'online' family. I have spent the last quarter of 1999, 
getting to know more than the "cyper -personality" of the posters on the keys list. I have digested 
most all your posts, recording my immediate reaction to each and every post. Thank you for being 
and coming into my heart.
Yes, for 4 months I have been at my PC all my waking hours. I first read the Immortal and 
most of the archives. After reading the posts I've followed the connecting links and learned so 
much. I'm still catching up on the archives, Sometimes, I have spent hours putting myself into the 
mindset of another. I have tried to hear, really hear each of You. I've been enlightened by all. 
Especially the ones I didn't like right off, Those I think I learned from the most. You have my 
gratitude. You have become my 'partners' in helping me learn the principles of life. Thank you for 
sharing your personal beliefs and experiences. You have shared on your lessons so willingly, 
now I'd like to take my turn.
This time has been very important to me. It was my wish to use 1999 to assimilate 30 years 
of life experience after running away to marry at 17. My life has been a hodgepodge of change, 
dealing with whatever life where ever. I felt blessed by the Universe and have gone where Spirit 
leads. . . I just wasn't sure it was the right spirit.
Background: I was made in Bowling Green, Ky. Changed somewhat by those in Nashville, 
TN. Modified big time while in Tallahassee, Fl. Really grew up & still putting it all together in 
Houston, TX. It has taken 47 yrs and it's all beginning to make sense. I was born on the full 
moon, under the constellation of Pisces, the two fish swimming in opposite directions, 
symbolizing opposing forces in the psyche of the human.
Duality has always been an important part of my life. I'm an identical twin, born. 3/11/52, 11 
minutes before my sis, Janet, at 6:56 am. We were raised by two strong females, one black, one 
white with my brother who is 13 months older. My early role models were these two women from 
very different backgrounds. Both were devout Christians but with different energies that nurtured 
me.
 Christine (black) provided unconditional love, always there to embrace me . . . shielding me from 
the chaos of my mother's materialistic chase around the clock to provide for us and do her thing. 
My mother, a beautiful soul was reared during the depression and very fear-based. Christine was 
always available to help me get rid of unnecessary stressful situations and guilt created by my 
birth mother's fear based racial beliefs.
I was baptized as an infant with strong familial ties to the Presbyterian Church. Student of 
the Bible-kJ. Christian's husband was a baptist preacher. I've always felt that much had either 
been removed, altered or misinterpreted in the Bible because so much of it felt wrong~. The Dead 
Sea Scrolls, Gardner's Bloodline series, The Immortal and countless other books have shown me 
this is true. There's a story that many someone's have gone to a lot of trouble to keep us from 
knowing. Now, after studying with you I know this to be true.
The principles learned here are so Real for me. I can honestly say, it's been the most 
valuable course in my life. I believe the lessons have been firmly implanted in my 
subconsciousness since before birth, and I was semiconscious of this until adolescence. 
However, my world crumbled when I lost Christian at 11 yrs. old. I realize I have been searching 
for that wise-innocence every since. The Keysters have helped me understand this. Now when an 
opportunity presents itself for learning, I can apply the principles with more certainty.
Thank You for giving me the opportunity to learn about myself. I tried to put myself into each 
of your experiences as best I could. I have recorded my response to each post, sometimes more 
than once or twice, seldom forwarding these posts. Maybe this was selfish of me, not to post so 
others could benefit but I knew what I wrote at this time was for me and I took it.
It is time for me to provide feedback. I participated in a Winter Soltice, full moon ritual last 
night and the Keysters were there with me. As I drive almost 1000 miles to KY, today, you will be 
in my thoughts. I desire to share some of my understanding. This has become one of my Visions 
for myself and others to really know and use.
It's been my experience that whatever others think and/or say is part of them and their life, 
past and present. Isn't it always only after we are wise enough to let go of the things that do not 
belong to us, that we finally find our own joyful worth?
We are what we think and do.
Our thoughts are much more closely connected to us than they are to anyone else. So we 
must take care with them. Even if our negative thoughts are about someone else, the person who 
is most harmed by those thoughts is you.
Our thoughts have a way of becoming our reality, even without our conscious effort. Our 
thoughts then have a way of directing our actions, even though we may not have intended for 
them to do so.
What I've learned about me. . .
I am the only one that can control my thoughts. It's up to me to choose not to waste too 
many of them on frivolous and trivial things. I need to make sure they don't lead me into a 
negative mindset or destructive actions. Our thoughts can improve the quality of our life and the 
world around us. Our thoughts are most powerful, and they are ours to control and direct.
Remember "thought falls into the reservoir of our heart, and our emotion creates our reality."

CHAPTER TWO
Exclusive Doctrines
There are three basic schools of thought concerning Israel today. The most commonly 
accepted view is that the Jewish people are Israel. Non-Jews may be adopted into the house of 
Israel, but only the country of Israel and the Jewish people are the "chosen" ones.
The second doctrine, such as found in the Mormon religion, teaches that the Jews are Gods 
chosen people, but only several tribes composed the Jewish kingdom. The descendents of 
Ephriam are scattered throughout the world and are also literal Israelites, but are not Jews. In 
addition there are the ten lost tribes whose location is unknown that will eventually be reunited 
with the rest of Israel.
Some believe that all or part of the ten lost tribes are hidden away in some mysterious place 
whereas others believe them lost because they are scattered among the various people of the 
earth.
The third view mainly held by white supremists maintains that the modern day Jews are not 
Israelites at all, but children of the devil. They claim that after the dispersions of Israel non-
Israelites returned to Jerusalem and claimed to be descendants of Jacob, but were not. Just 
about all of the true Israelites are lost and do not know their identity. Most of the Aryan race are 
Israelites and the true "chosen people". Some of these extremists view the blacks as subhuman 
and believe that he is the "beast of the field" talked about in the Bible. They have an even lower 
view of the Jews for when Christ told them that they were "of your father the devil" John 8:44 they 
believe he literally meant it. They believe that the devil was a physical being in the garden of 
Eden and begat children and the descendants are the Jews. The non-Aryan races are also 
looked upon as inferior and will eventually be servants to the Whites.
Even though the third view causes the greatest consternation with the average person all 
three are close to being equally dangerous and separative. One cannot emphasize too strongly 
that without supportiveness and the feeling of being "chosen" above all others Hitler and his Nazi 
gang could have never risen to power. The forces of evil raise to power by the force of a unified 
supportiveness; whereas the forces of good and liberty increase through the power of unified 
inclusiveness. For instance the Constitution of the United States included or protected even the 
commonest of men and was supported by the unified will of the people, thus the forces of good 
expanded. The Civil War brought an inclusion of the Black to the basic freedoms of liberty again 
bringing an expansion of the will-to-good. The granting of suffrage to women was another 
inclusion. The forces of good include and evil excludes.
The evil of exclusion takes two basic forms: (1) The excluding of others, thus building 
individual pride and ego. (2) The excluding of self which is false humility.
The first view of Israel stimulates the second evil, the exclusion of self. Those who believe 
that the Jews alone are God's chosen ones exclude themselves from this privilege, if they are not 
a Jew themselves. They feel that Modern Israel as God's chosen people and are right in 
everything they do no matter how ruthless. This is similar to the feeling of Nazi party members 
towards Hitler. It is always dangerous to let any belief blind reasoning and hold the mind in check. 
When has blind belief or blind faith ever brought more benefit to humanity than the reasonable 
course of action? Never. There is not one example in history., If one finds himself supporting 
Israel just because she is Israel one is merely repeating the greatest most repeated mental and 
emotional blunder in history.
The same reasoning applies to all things. If one supports the United States Constitution just 
because it is our Constitution, this can lead to blindness. As good as it is, a rational mind may see 
possible improvements, especially as times change.
Many support their church or scriptures because it is "theirs" and "special" to them and any 
reasoning to the contrary is ignored. Many are so blinded that they are not even aware that they 
are obviating reason. Every man, no matter how blinded, believes in his own way that he is 
reasonable. His thinking may run something like: "It is reasonable for me to reject this man's 
reasoning, because God (or some religious leader) told me I am right so anything contrary to this 
thinking is evil." Every evil ideology that has arisen in history has such people supporting it. Every 
good ideology from the past has always been supported by people who examine all things in the 
clear cold light of reason. Even men of great intuition do this. Feeling alone excludes reason 
whereas intuition includes it.
Even though a person may exclude himself from the full benefits of being one of the "chosen 
race" he often identifies with Israel through the belief of adoption, or the born again experience. 
Then he is simultaneously guilty of the evil of "the exclusion of others". He believes that the is 
now chosen because of his faith in Christ and he will go to heaven whereas his non-believing 
neighbor (even though he may be a more loving person) will go to hell. He practices the evil of 
separateness. His neighbor (in his eyes) is just as good as in hell, while he is going to heaven 
merely because he is now "special" in God's eyes. His neighbor is dead while he is alive. The 
man has the evil line of exclusion drawn in his consciousness.
The second doctrine is also exclusive, but this group does not exclude themselves from the 
benefits and chosen status of the Jews. They believe they are also Israelites, buy they exclude 
those who are not Jews or a member of their religion. They feel that all true Israelites will come 
into their church (merely because they have the blood of Israel in them) and the non-Israelites will 
not be attracted. Thus they look upon non-members as Gentiles and exclude them from the 
blessings of Israel. many of these also support every move the nation of Israel makes, right or 
wrong, just as they do their religious leaders.
The third ideology may seem the most extreme, but the believers; nevertheless, must be 
given credit for using their minds to a degree. In a confrontation with those of the first two 
categories the third category can usually win a debate, because he uses some reasoning, and 
the Bible seems to give him some support. Even though some of the most intelligent and mental 
souls support this doctrine, it would be the most dangerous one to be universally accepted. Many 
of these people believe that Hitler was on the right track, but was just a bit too ruthless. They 
believe the holocaust was a big farce, that it never really happened, and the world may have 
been a better place if Hitler had won. Not all believe the same on this idea, however.
One may wonder, why if some of these souls are advanced, that they support a dangerous 
doctrine. The answer is that just before a person truly develops the intuition and receives 
enlightenment and thinks inclusively he often finds himself in an extreme position because of 
certain black and white facts which seem to stare him in the face. This person takes the Bible 
literally and studies it systematically and reaches certain conclusions, some right and some 
wrong. If he makes a mistake he builds on it and does not intuitively perceive the error.
To avoid error let us go back to the beginning and establish a sure foundation.

Loosely translated,
"Hear O Israel, The Lord God IS, the Lord God is One"
Now, my reading and remembering of this
is that there is a "metaphorical"
 or deeper meaning of the word Israel ...
where it refers to the "Spiritual Body" of Man ...
 not a country, People or Place ...
and this is then an exhortation of unification of Spiritual Body or Soul.

I'm happy to join in and say hello. My name is Emmanuelle (emma is fine), i'm French, 32

thanks Xavier and i wanted to share a few thoughts with you. The ideas in the book were not 
completely new to me but i was glad to find them on the net. I've been looking for truth and 
meaning for more than a decade now (well guess i always have) and of course i found some 
answers. Because he who really seeks with his heart will always find. To me the latest answer 
came as the kabbalistic sephiroth tree. Reading a book, I had a quick glance at it that almost 
knocked me out and i knew at once that many answers were gathered there. "My" idea of each of 
us being a cell of a larger body (which i also found in the book) directly came from kabbalah. I 
was meditating about what is above Kether, above Ain-soph knowing though i couldn't size it and 
this generated a painful, aching tension (just same as when one is filled with love, too much love 
for one's heart to bear) and this tension just broadened my consciousness and i came out with 
this picture, reinforcing the law that what is under (microcosm) is like what is above 
(macrocosm)!. I am very cautious about kabbalah though and i take my time to digest things 
slowly. I was very cautious also about spiritual group work 'cause i've found my balance alone 
after some hard " testing times" and i thought maybe it was better to remain physically hidden. lol 
xavier that is for you! What made me write now is that i was born optimistic ;) and faithful and 
therefore i decided to give it a try! I'm just through an emotional and psychological re-building (the 
rebirth of the 30th ...) and i'm quite sure the new foundations i build myself, with His help of 
course, will resist a mailing-list tempest! What i understood recently after many years of useless 
questioning such as : where is my place up there=3F=3F=3F...seems to be none for me! is that 
the path is building itself as long as i walk along and what matters is to swim with the current of 
life and not to resist its tide (i mean not to stay still, hindered by inner fears). Now i'm am building 
my own path and trying to create an outside working life based on the inside laws. Basically, that 
sums up to less thinking, more acting! and of course being benevolent to my own mistakes 
(difficult for someone impatient & perfectionist). Well this was just meant to be an introduction, 
sorry i got past that aim!

The Question: How does giving and receiving effective communication aid in discovering the 
truth?
At least part of this answer is pretty obvious. Without communication of some type the word 
"truth" would have no meaning to us humans. A truth has to be given and received through 
communication before it can be registered as such by our consciousness. Even though 2+2=4 
whether you are conscious of it or not, this truth will be as though it does not exist to your 
universe until the knowledge of it is communicated to you.
A tree does fall in a forest even though no one sees or hears it, but until this information is 
communicated to your consciousness, it has not fallen for you.
There are several levels of communication in our search for discovery.
(1) Communication through perception of the outside world.
(2) Person to person communication.
(3) Communication through the soul.
If each of us could just have accurate communication on these three levels we would rarely 
disagree. We could all see the truth together and have a wonderful union.
So why is this not the case? Why do so many of us disagree on even simple things?
The Course in Miracles gives a good reason for this. It tells us that we "see only the past."
Thus when two of us look upon the outside world with the same instruments of perception 
we see two different realities because the present is filtered through the memory of the past.
Let us take the football game again. On one side we have a cheering section for team A and 
on the other we have one for team B.
Both groups of fans are perceiving the same game, but the filters of the past cause entirely 
different perceptions.
If the referee calls a penalty for team A, team B fans will cheer him while team A fans will 
boo him off the field.
Both groups have the same perception, but different vision because of seeing the past 
blended in with the present.
Now let us suppose that all memory of all fans present were taken from them concerning the 
two teams.
Let us suppose the referee once again gives a penalty to team A. Now what will their 
reaction be?
I think we can all visualize here that, by taking away the vision of the past blended with the 
present, that suddenly the two sides would see the penalty very close to the way it really was. In 
other words, if two people
keep their consciousness in the present (as a little child) and refuse to let the past distort their 
vision they will see as one. They will both see the truth as it is happening now.
Even though an eye witness has the greatest possible credibility in court, studies have 
shown that they are much less reliable than the juries believe them to be.
Why?
Because their vision of the event is clouded by their vision of the past there is distortion, but 
there is one more reason...
Faulty memory.
Our vision of the present is distorted by mingling it with the past and the present is further 
distorted by imperfect memory bringing a distorted past forward as a cloudy filter making it difficult 
to see the present truth.
Another thing that distorts the vision of the past is emotion. Even if you have a good memory 
a very positive or negative feeling associated with a past perception can fog the vision of the 
present. For instance, you may have met the quarterback of Team A and found him very 
charming and even gave you an autograph. Then later you bumped into the quarterback of Team 
B and he barked at you to watch where you are going.
Even though you remember everything accurately you bring the feeling from the past into the 
present and decide you want Team A to win because the quarterback was a nice guy. Maybe 
Team B has more nicer guys than team A, but you don't care. The first quarterback planted a 
positive emotion in you and this greatly influences your present vision. The referee calls a fair 
penalty against Team A and you shout him down and call him a blind idiot.
Now the question is - how can we use this knowledge to increase the accuracy of our 
perceptions thus increasing our ability to perceive truth?
Quite simple. The first thing to always keep in our consciousness is the realization that the 
past does distort the present. Therefore use memories of the past very sparingly as you perceive 
the present and when they are used make sure you only use items that are remembered 
correctly. Test your memory now and then and get an idea of how accurate it is so when you do 
filter through memory you will take into account a margin of error.
Also test your feelings and recognize the influence they have on you. When the referee 
makes a call you do not like, detach yourself from your feelings for a moment and ask yourself if 
the call was really fair. Do not allow yourself to see the call through your feelings. Instead use 
pure present perception and accept what your perception gives you even if it hurts.
Sports fans should be pleased here that even a game, or should we say, especially a game, 
can be a great exercise in the correct registration of reality.
There are two main communications left that reveal truth which are:
Person to person communication and... Communication through the soul.
Does seeing the past also distort these two communications? How about faulty memory and 
past feelings? Does they also play a part.
We have always maintained that communication through the soul is accurate, but can even 
this be distorted by the past, feelings and faulty memory?

In a person-to-person communication, it would always be possible that past feelings would 
color one's reaction to another's comment. I, for one, seemed to be blessed with a "faulty 
memory" (too much on my mind, I guess), and even though I swear I heard something one way, I 
am told by others who witnessed the conversation that I had either added, or couldn't hear a 
critical word, thus changing the conversation for me.

I would think that it could, based on how much you allow the past feelings to influence your 
present. Even though I don't believe it's happened to me, I suppose it would be possible. Faulty 
memory? If you couldn't remember what the soul had just confirmed for you (don't take notes like 
I do!!! :-)) therefore, by not remembering the exact information that the soul just confirmed for you, 
could make it change in your mind, therefore rendering it false.

SUBJECT: The Distortion of the Past -- Remedy of Humility as Exemplified by God
In contemplating J J's concept of clear communication and being able to view in the present 
without letting the filters of the past cloud our perception, again the concept of HUMILITY comes 
to my mind.
If we are humble, then our ego does not hang onto the past as a status symbol to us. We 
can accept the present along with the truths it presents, without feeling threatened. With humility, 
there is no such thing as feeling threatened. Rather there is a quiet yet powerful conviction of the 
new truth, along with a letting go of the falsehoods of the past.
In my studies of "Alphabetics" which includes considering words in vicinity to one another in 
alphabetical sequence, one of the things I have observed many times is that a pronoun for "God" 
is followed or preceded immediately by a word that means "nothing." For example, the name 
"Jehovah" in English is followed by the word "jejune: Devoid of interesting matter, or 
attractiveness of any kind; bare; meager; barren; unprofitable."
"Unprofitable" is the meaning of word 888 in the New Testament lexicon. 888 is the number 
of Jesus (the sum of the numeric values of the letters spelling his name in Greek). Isaiah 
describes the Messiah, "the arm of the Lord," saying, "He hath no form nor comeliness; and when 
we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him." Jehovah, jejune. That is certainly 
how fallen man perceives God, because fallen man looks for show, for flash, for excitement, for 
charisma -- all of which attributes Satan has down pat.
So on one hand, we could see this juxtaposition of words for God and words meaning 
"nothing" as a contrast between God's greatness and the opposite of greatness being 
nothingness. But I believe there is also a nothingness that pertains to God that makes him God. 
God is God because he recognizes his own nothingness perfectly. In and of himself he is nothing 
without tying into the greatness of the God universal. He couldn't have become God on his own, 
and he cannot stay God by himself. He is part of a wholeness that includes a universal working 
togetherness.
There is a Book of Mormon passage that I just love which sustains this point very well. 
Moroni says, "And then shall ye know that I have seen Jesus, and that he hath talked with me 
face to face, and that he told me in plain humility, even as a man telleth another in mine own 
language, concerning things."
Here is the resurrection Lord speaking (communicating) "in plain humility." If it's good 
enough for God, then it is certainly good enough for us, as we strive for Godliness, that we too 
can overcome all things and become as he is -- including being humble in our communications.

The past can help or hinder it depends on the level of detachment and weather the person 
lives in the moment. For the most part this answer would be a strong YES though.

I believe it can once subjected to our minds interpretation. But what the Soul receives I 
believe does not get distorted and can always be taped into and contemplated by the mind until 
the correct interpretation is received and verified.
It is sometimes a long drawn out process and other times it comes in a flash.

I recently joined this list after reading The Immortal. I finally checked it out after some 
general nudging by my friend Sterling on a mutual list were on. It is the first book in a while that 
has been able to hold my attention. While much of it is stuff I have gone over many times there is 
something different about it that I was motivated to finish it. I'll be ordering the second
I come from a Mormon/Christian background but have delved into many different 
philosophies and traditions. I have come to seek truth where ever it is found regardless of the 
culture and tradition it comes from. I have come to know that the kingdom is within and have 
moved on from organized religion and authoritarianism and "we are the chosen ones syndrome". 
I look back on those parts of my journey with fondness for the good and the bad for they were all 
necessary to my progress, and still hold the truths I found there dear but have discarded the rest. 
I must admit I am a skeptical person and don't just buy into anything I hear right off without

I had some random thoughts while sitting in Christmas Eve service with my parents. (BTW, 
my father is doing very well, my thanks go out to all who responded to my prayer request back in 
October.) I'm not certain why I had the thoughts -- maybe my brain felt it had extra time during the 
hand bell choir's performances; or maybe it's because I had not attended my mother's church in 
over decade (and I can't remember if I ever attended her church on Christmas Eve) -- but I had 
them nonetheless and they seem to be somewhat on topic.
JJ's words in this (particularly the use of the word "filter") brought to mind a book by physicist 
David Darling. The actual title of the book escapes me, and most of my library is in storage until 
my fiancee and I find a house to purchase, but I do recall the theme of the book: Is there life after 
death? 
Mr. Darling was approaching the topic from a scientific standpoint, and he claimed to have 
scientific evidence to support a belief in life after death. But in chapter after chapter, he revealed 
a scientific basis that actually DEBUNKED the NDE (Near Death Experience). As I completed 
each chapter, I was becoming increasingly disappointed, and I was irritated at being misled. 
But then we arrived at the closing chapters.
As I mentioned, up to this point, Mr. Darling was able to explain away each aspect of the 
NDE. Biology, chemistry, etc. were all able to account for the "mystical" experiences one has 
during the NDE. All save one: the sense of an expanding consciousness. Everything else that 
happened made perfect sense for a dying brain, but why would a dying brain experience such an 
expanded awareness at the same time that it's functions are rapidly deteriorating?
Unless, of course, the brain (in conjunction with mind) is nothing more than a FILTER that 
only lets in a piece of consciousness.
Mr. Darling asserted that consciousness does not arise in the mind, but that it exists all the 
time and the brain simply taps into it. If you have a hard time following that, just think of your 
television. Even after you turn it off, television waves (EM radiation) still exist; your set just isn't 
tapping into them anymore.
Now, such a filtering was necessary -- excuse me, *essential* -- to the human species' 
survival early in our evolution. It filtered out any distractions to the task at hand: staying alive. As 
our species evolved, this filtering was less necessary to our physical survival, but no less 
necessary (at least perceived) to our emotional/mental survival.
Just what the heck does any of this have to do with JJ's post on "cloudy filters" and "faulty 
memories"?
Um, give me a minute. I'll remember...(I hope).
Oh yeah! As long as a person still feels the need to protect his/her core, then the filtering of 
the mind will keep out the experience of expanded consciousness which can enable soul contact. 
Recall, for example, several of our own Keysters who have had to wrestle with the principles JJ 
has shown in his writings. As long as they held on to certain beliefs -- certain filters -- they were 
clouded from hearing the still small voice that would enable them to embrace the teachings. Now, 
some of that voice was getting through, hence their willingness to continue with the material until 
they had their own personal breakthroughs. But not everyone made it. Early on (at least within the 
first few months that I joined), we lost several members because they could not jive JJ's material 
with the teachings they had been fed and/or followed all their lives.
So, I would say that, yes, soul contact can and often is disrupted by "the past, feelings and 
faulty memory." But, every so often as we have seen here -- and I am sure that Christopher has 
seen it in his work with past memories -- soul contact can be made as the "still small voice" 
becomes louder and we listen as it speaks of true memories.
I hope I didn't ramble too much. I really hope that there is something coherent in what I just 
wrote. I don't have time to re-read it: I have to get back to Christmas Eve festivities.

My Christmas present to you is to attempt to convey what little knowledge I have in hopes 
that it will either stimulate or help you along your way. My prayer is that when you receive all that I 
have to give that I will be given more. May we all be in the act of either sending or receiving and 
thus BECOMING that which we decide to become.
Chapter Three
Universal Overview
Most of those reading this treatise will realize that the earth is far older than six thousand 
years as some fundamentalists teach. It is indeed billions of years in age. The solar system itself 
is far older. Our solar system has an interplay with seven other systems which order is of a 
greater age still. In our solar system there is a sun circles by twelve planets. Nine have been 
discovered and three are as of yet unknown to man. Within the sun are at least twelve spheres of 
energy to provide the counterbalance to the forces played upon by the planets; thus making our 
solar system similar in makeup to a giant atom. Each body in the universe is an expression of 
God and possesses a life and consciousness of some kind, and many of them are above or 
below our present understanding. The earth, sun, solar system and every other system and 
particle in the universe are possessed with some type of life and consciousness and all these 
lives together form the "one God". In addition, each of these lives are connected to seven 
different world's or fields or vibration all at the same time we and must eventually explore and 
master them all. These seven different fields of vibration make up one wavelength in a cosmic 
universe we know nothing of. There are indeed worlds without end.
The lives of the globes such as the earth and sun are greater, much greater, than human for 
they include the human. They also operate on a different time frame so it is well neigh impossible 
for human consciousness to understand them. Each globe is also in a different state of spiritual 
progression. Sirius is much more advanced than our sun, for instance, and Venus is much farther 
along than the Earth. Just as the bacteria in our bodies cannot understand our purpose even so 
can we not fathom the collective intelligence of an entire planetary body or a solar logos. If time 
were sped up so that the life of a planet covering billions of years was as if it were the seventy-
two years of a mortal man then we would see that the planets themselves are not without 
freedom of movement and agency. They jot in and out of orbit and have close encounters with 
other planetary bodies and live a personality life within their system. If the life of the Sun which 
covers more billions of years than recognized by current science were speeded up to an even 
greater degree so that this greater period was seen as seventy-two years then we would witness 
the personality of the Sun. We would see that it darts about the constellations and deviates from 
its projected course according to its free will. The double stars we see in the heavens are not 
permanent fixtures, but a temporary visit of a neighboring star.
This same principle applies to entire galaxies and systems of galaxies which are on a slower 
time scale still until we come to the universe itself which merely makes up a giant particle drifting 
unorganized in greater space.
On the reverse side there may be no smallest particle. The atom is composed of a nucleus 
of protons and neutrons with electrons circling around it. Each of these particles is a miniature 
universe which has a consciousness peculiar to itself, but its time frame is millions of times faster 
(relatively) than ours to the extent that time has ceased there and the tiny lives blend with the 
higher consciousness of our universe as they create something greater than themselves.
The circle in spiral motion is the grand key to the universe. No matter how large or small it 
will be found that one particle will be circling (or moving toward circling) around another. No 
matter how small the particle there will be circles within it; Particles circling around other particles, 
yet life and consciousness is everywhere to be found.
When life reaches the end of its evolution it becomes radioactive. This is observable in the 
mineral kingdom in radium and uranium and the manmade elements. WE see radiation in the 
plant kingdom in the perfumes it generates. This is an indication of their high state of evolution 
within their own sphere.
Humans generate several kinds of radiation. When they advance to the god kingdom and 
overcome the "last enemy" death, as Christ did, the door to the tomb bursts open and the radiant 
being comes forth which is a similitude of the creating of atomic energy on a different plane of 
livingness.
A form of planetary radiation is reached as its inhabitants engage in space travel which 
eventually becomes interplanetary and interstellar. These tiny lives (in a galactic sense) radiate 
forth and eventually stimulate other planets and systems until they radiate also creating a 
macrocosmic chain reaction.
Our earth is part of this macrocosmic chain reaction.

reading Twyman's books, by the way.
 The Immortal is starting to be read here in Puerto Rico. My Reiki instructor read one of the 
copies I received when I ordered books 1 and 2 and loved it. Now she is beginning her classes 
with the Song (144,000) in Spanish. She decided to start all Reiki healing sessions and classes 
with the song. Too bad she doesn't have a computer to join the list, but she is planning on buying 
one.
I do have to say, though, that just as I was thinking this morning "I sense that the teachings 
will soon start spreading on this part of the globe--too bad the Spanish version is not available yet 
to reach more people" .... As I was thinking this, immediately, I felt an eerie presence, like if there 
was a less-than-nice being not too happy at the idea of the teachings being spread to this part of 
the globe. I sensed its undesirable presence right away, since I am very sensitive to subtle 
energies. I just said the Song and prayed for help. After all, it's not the first time this happens to 
me.
Though I asked for help, this time, I didn't get it quick like in other occasions. What I got, 
instead, was like a "you'll know what to do" type of message ?!!? Like an, "I can help you, but you 
should learn how to protect yourself without my help" type of line of thinking just popped into my 
mind. Then, I remembered the time I did get help and quick (previously posted in a looong e-mail) 
and it just clicked... I know what to do... and made the sound these eerie beings dislike and 
managed to drive it away although it did take me some time.
Looks like there is most likely some energies that want to discourage me from reading the 
teachings, from recommending The Immortal on this part of the globe and most of all, to 
discourage me from any peace endeavors. Not so long ago, I had a dream with two women that 
broke my prayer beads because they were angry that I desired world peace, then a man that was 
with them grabbed me by my shoulders and was forcing me to look at him. I asked God's help 
and got it immediately and I woke up from the dream. Looks like they are no longer satisfied with 
bothering me in the dream state, now they are also doing it while I'm awake. Oh goody!!!
Tough luck for them because I am going to continue using universal energy to heal and will 
continue to read the teachings and pray for world peace.

I think soul contact/communication is always 'the real McCoy' and is by definition pure and 
unsullied, but it's what we do with it afterwards that allows the distortion to creep in and corrupt it. 
How we interpret it, apply thought to it, how we communicate it, what we add and what we take 
away from it makes it different. Sure, "faulty memory" and past experiences are behind this, but I 
would have thought it was also a function of our desire nature (i.e us applying our 'lower nature' to 
something that is of our 'higher selves'). The opposite happens (for the same reasons) when 
communications are interpreted as being of the soul when in fact they are not. But we seem to 
want our illusions more than we want the truth at times!
Not a very 'meaty' answer to a substantial question, I know, but it's been a long and happy 
Boxing Day and it's all I've got in me right now!

I believe I mostly agree with you here. I hadn't given any thought before to past life 
experiences intermingled with current life experiences having such an effect. The only thing here 
is that, for me at least, there is a subtle difference between communications of the mind and 
communications from the inner self. Thoughts from the mind don't seem to have as strong a 
positive feeling and are very easy to get lost in by analysing. When I KNOW I have received from 
my soul, I can almost see the "light bulb" over my head. It happens suddenly without any pre-
thought and in my life, when I didn't pay attention to it (hanging on to the illusion, I guess) I have 
mentally "kicked myself around the block". See, here I have dunnit again.... analysed. Dear Lord, 
will I ever learn?

Hello All Keysters,
First of all I hope all had a fabulous holiday and a special spirit. I haven't posted in a while 
because my computer is at Hewlett Packard where I work and we are forbidden from being on the 
internet till after the Y2K things is over for fear of bringing viruses into our systems. So, I have to 
be at a friends house to even get on the net. I am keeping up though. Yes, I think even soul 
contact has to filter through our perceptions. I often receive inspirations but they come to me in 
the language of the spirit and they speak only in principles. So, when I get the message I still 
have to interpret the meaning. I was told that I would learn about love from a certain individual. I 
was expecting him to love me. Turns out he taught me something different. Yes, he taught me a 
great deal about love just like they said, but not what I thought it was. I receive lots of information 
but I don't usually interpret in well because I filter it through the "little wills of men". Soul contact 
gives perfect information but I am imperfect at knowing what it means. My son recently met a 
man who is very good to him. This man loves my son and is a very good role model to him, 
teaching him how to be a man. My childhood was without such a person. In fact, in my childhood 
if a man was nice to me it usually meant he wanted something in return, ulterior motives. So 
through my filters of past experience I was suspicious of this man. I questioned everything nice 
he did. It was quite a leap of faith for me to put those voices of fear out of my head and accept
