I have to take a quick trip to San Diego and back. Thanks for correcting me Xavier on the Love thing. My dyslexia kicked in again. The Question: "Let us look at detachment in the positive aspect and tell us exactly what this quality is and why this it is so important in the eyes of the Masters." Paul stated: "Detachment is the polar opposite of attachment. When neutralized these result in freedom, auto-determination without external restraint. It is a quality of oneness of spirit not restricted by the duality it works with Freedom is as much a quality of consciousness as love." The trouble is you're still talking about duality. Freedom is the opposite of imprisonment. Auto- determination is the opposite of tyranny, and spirit is opposite of matter. You cannot live in duality and not be in duality. That is an oxymoron. I thought Samu gave a good comment on this: "Attaching yourself mentally or emotionally to a 'frame in the film' would not only move your focus away from the here and now, it would also mean that you step outside the 'life in the making process' and choose to dwell in a world where everything just is. How could you make good and wise decisions today if they are based on old news of the past?" Zia also indicated that one who is detached has the viewpoint of the observer. This is a good point. A working disciple must be versatile for several reasons. First he can receive a message that will completely change his direction and personal plans at any given moment. If he is attached to those plans and directions then he may reject or alter important higher instructions necessary to the work. Secondly, he may make some personal mistakes that need to be corrected in order to complete the mission. If he is attached to being right or to his way of doing things then the mission may fail. Thirdly, the disciple will receive knowledge that may contradict things he has believed all his life. If he is attached to his old beliefs then he may not be usable as a student or teacher. Attachment is a very misunderstood concept and is often mistaken for virtue. For instance, an attachment of one person toward another is often called love, and this is the only version of love that many people understand. But it is not love, it is attachment, a desire to hold on to a thing or person. True love always involves a desire to serve and to help or enhance, not just a desire to hold on because of a desire to possess. There will be many times that the working disciple will have to use the power of detachment. He must realize that he is not his body, not his feelings and not even his mind and stand back and watch these feelings and thoughts brood and move, yet make his decisions in the light of the soul without attachments to thoughts and feelings of his lower bodies. Here are the three qualities we have named so far. (1) Soul contact (2) Holding the mind steady in the light (3) Detachment when necessary. Now let me name three more important qualities and for the next two days hopefully the group can bring forth their wisdom and explain why the Masters need these qualities in a working disciple. (4) The ability to either send or receive, to be either a teacher or a student as the situation demands. How are many people in illusion about this quality? (5) The habit of reflecting daily, hourly, weekly on the results of the work and teachings and ways to make improvements. (6) The possession of talents and abilities that will give him or her power to get the attention of the people and influence them in a positive direction. Talking about these three should give some good food for thought until I return. Scott P Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-14/5122 From: "Jay" Subject: Re: Detachment Hi JJ and all, Marilyn it is nice to see that the greatest meaning comes from every day occurrences. It is great that you furthered your understanding of pure intent with washing the floors. :o] JJ, I have been thinking of your Why is the answer not Love? I have been reflecting and contemplating on this with regards to non attachment or to some detachment. I thought about the above question and thought about John's quote in the bible God is Love. Then I thought Why is the answer not God. What occurred to me is the answer lies with the individual. God gave us the gift of free will, free will to choose. To be a disciple one must be prepared to go from follower to leader, guide. From Student to teacher. Therefore an individual must have reached a certain amount of spiritual maturity for this to occur. Of course one can not accomplish nearly enough without the divine energy flow of love. Look at Mother Theresea and her service to humanity. One of my favourite quotes from Mother Theresea that I read in a Wayne Dyer book was The purpose of life was to love and be loved and who could argue with her. :o] "Jay gave a hint to the third trait and answered it also. The hint was: : "The ability to let go of outdated beliefs and thought patterns." "Jay's answer: "Perhaps Non Attachment, the ability not to cling to thought patterns, to release old ways of thinking and behaving. Not to Attach to the ways of the ego." "Close enough. The word was actually detachment, but non attachment means the same thing." When I used the word Non Attachment I use it instead of detachment. I do not use the word detachment because of the negative connotations attached to the word. I have experienced people following the spiritual belief of detachment and with them I noticed an aloofness, unfeeling insensitivity, non-committal type approach to life. They would sprout the give up the outcome and what will be will be leading to a non active, non planning sometimes non participating way of life. I see non attachment like the spiritual surrendering to God's will or plan. I don't see non attachment as not attaching to feelings and emotions, while on earth these are natural human traits, that when positively applied to life is an absolute gift within itself. Who wants to go through life, with out the feelings of love, laughter, joy, bliss, ecstasy, peace, compassion etc.... What I see the masters may be looking for is the non attachment to fear. When we attach ourselves to fear and the loss of something then we can be tempted, pressured, be manipulated more easily and their would be an unbalanced power.... John K quoted a passage in the bible when we sacrifice our life we find it and when we love our children more than we do God etc.... This reminds me of the time in the bible Abraham was told by God to sacrifice his only son, at that point Abraham gave up his attachment to his child and was going to sacrifice him to God. He trusted God implicitly, not only was God happy with him but he didn't have to kill his child. When Jesus was in the desert for 40 days and he gave up his attachment to food, he was tempted and yet was able to resist because of his faith and believe in = God sustains man and life... I also read the other day that Jesus said to the rich man if you want to enter the Kingdom of heaven you must give up your worldly goods. I also see non attachment to material possessions as important. I can relate this to a true story that happened not long ago. The person has given me permission to relay this story as an example to attachment to fear and material possessions. Only the name of the person has been changed. Debbie was a pretty together kind of women. She had been doing it tough for awhile but she hung in there always the optimist. She worked hard for everything she had and achieved. She managed to buy 2 houses as well as raise a child on her own. She had been alone for 8 years when along came a fabulous man who basically wanted to sweep her off her feet. Life for a change looked as if it might be pretty groovy from now on. The trouble with Debbie was she became attached to her houses, and the new man in her life, she hung onto them with dear life. One day she received an internal message to write a book, the fear in her came out and sure enough she questioned what could she possibly write a book about. Then she said to God if you want me to write a book provide the resources for me to do this. As a result bills came in from all sorts of places, one of her houses she was renting out was trashed by the tenants, they skipped owing a lot of rent and left the house unlivable. The fabulous man ended the relationship and she didn't know how she was going to pay for the mortgages. She tried to enter in an agreement with the Bank at that time it proved futile. In the area of the trashed house there was no available trades people to fix it, she felt that she was out of her depth. She use to worry about not having enough money to buy food or to pay the bills and was afraid of losing all she had worked for including her sanity. Life looked bleak for Debbie. Debbie said Okay God I am not going to live with Fear anymore if I loose my houses I loose my houses, if you want me to be alone then I will be alone, I will do what you want but I am not going to live with the pressure of fear anymore for I know that you can provide so much more and better than what I can alone, I know when one door closes another opens. As a result Debbie has a new man in her life that happens to be a writer/publisher and the idea for the book that Debbie was to write came to her. The man loved the idea and said that if she wrote the book he would publish it for her. She reports at last I spoke with her she is 3/4's finished within a 3 week time frame. She said God can work incredibly fast and the man is looking forward and excited to read it. She entered in a new agreement with the Bank that gave her doubled what she asked for in the first place. She manages to have enough to pay her bills, buy food as well as extras.....She has found a person to help her fix her house, work is to commence very shortly. Life is pretty groovy for Debbie ever since she gave up the fear and attachments to losing the people in her life and to the material possessions that she has. As a result she received an abundance for trusting in God and attributes her new lease on life with giving up the attachment to fear. "Detachment, like any other characteristic has a positive and negative side. It would be wrong to be so detached from your spouse and children that you could not feel love for them, for example. On the other hand, if the disciple is so attached to his family that he is not willing to risk a little resistance to accomplish a work then he may not be a usable vessel. Let us look at detachment in the positive aspect and tell us exactly what this quality is and why this it is so important in the eyes of the Masters." "The positive aspect of non attachment (detachment) I will write giving up the attachment to fear and material possessions. Love to all, Jay Experience reveals the individual - Wayne Dyer. It is the rational mind that perceived duality as separate causing polarization of duality. Spirit is opposed to matter but is one with matter and due to the link of consciousness is inseparable from matter. On the level of spirit, consciousness and matter there is then no separation or possibility of polarization. Freedom and love as aspects of consciousness or the link between spirit and matter transcend polarity and polarization. Once attachment is neutralized by detachment freedom as well as love are resulted as the balance between polar opposites. Remaining dual, freedom and love have transcended the polarity of attachment and detachment. The goal of human evolution on earth is to reach such freedom and love, the expanded consciousness that elevates the individual to such heights as they are ready for. They are using control/kill/coverup techniques in order to please their "masters" among the negs. They are trying to use me to get rewarded by their "masters" among the neg. races. I have spoken/talked to others and the techniques being used on me are similar/same as those being used on the other people I have talked/written to. The two neg. females here are constantly trying to get in the minds of others like the little girl next door. I have a Remote Viewing Report and RE-AN documentation confirming the presence of the two neg. females here. Unfortunately, due to their version of Ethics and Morals the Remote Viewing people would not remove the two neg. females. Looking for people that have real Ethics, Morals and remove negs. permanently. The two neg. females here like all negs. Should realize that the future is: (1) 90% or more Light and 10% or less darkness, (2) A true Family of Light made up of all the races in the Cosmos, (3) Who you are and what you are doesn't matter. What matters is do you work in peace and harmony or do you try to destroy the Earth for a dollar, etc. Some things you might try to get rid of negs: Holoform CD(S) you can buy, phone number for a good company in Tenn. Jerry reads the latest and is informed. The four holoform CD(s) are: Critter Clear: (supposed to create a hostile environment to get rid of 5 or 6 neg. entity races like the Lizards and Greys that "feed" on people psychically), Swept Clear 3: (has white, gold light and is also supposed to Ghost Bust and clear Energy Spaces),_ Cetecan Luminescence: (transformation and a water molecule), Dolphin Radiance (relaxation and communication with the Dolphin Peoples). Supposed to play the music into a Crystal point and/or something like a Light Harmonizer about 18 inches away from the Crystal. I found a good boombox at Walmart (a discount store). It's an AWAI and has what's called O, that's O not zero sound (3 dimensional sound). A lot of knowledge at Bdelphin site. According to Bob Dratch, he got his knowledge from the Dolphin Peoples. Might try a Light Tool: Light Harmonizer: (Emits a cosmic light field or L-field (harmonic of consciousness) and has a pos. - pos. output), Acu-Vac Coil: (draws out neg. left spin and enhances the natural pos. spin energies of food, water, air and light. Also, adds pos. right spin energy), Feedback Loop: (draws out neg. left spin energy and reverses the spin. Transmutes energy to a pos. form). The above light tools change darkness into Light. More Light Tools coming out later this year. According to what I have read, the Light is about 90% darkness and about 10% Light. People are using Harmonizers, etc. to transform darkness into Light. Possibly, if the Light is 90% or more and the darkness is 10% or less, the negs. will be at the other end of the Cosmos. Know anything about Light Technology? If he is attached to those plans and directions then he may reject or alter important higher instructions necessary to the work." I wish to so validate these comments, and the truth within them through a personal experience. I was a part of a spiritual school for a very long number of years, and during this time, and living within the community surrounding this school, events were called and everyone immediately made preparation to attend. Such an event was called, to be a Five day event, starting on Wednesday and completing on Sunday. As always in my time in that school, I asked the God within me if I was to attend. Oddly enough the answer was 'NO'. Just that. I went to work where a number of people attending this school were also present. When asked if I were going my answer was no. This caused great surprised and considerable judgment of me, because it was the 'accepted' practise, everyone went. Oddly enough there were to be more than one gate opening, entrance times, the last being Friday evening. I felt great disappointment that I was told not to go, and questioned myself as to why I asked, why not just go, that was my teacher etc... Wednesday and Thursday came and went. Each day I asked if I could go, and the answer was 'NO'. Again on Friday morning, the same answer. I felt very left out, this was the biggest event ever in the history of the school, everyone was there! but me. On Friday I went into town to shop and came home. Getting out of my car, I turned to the sound of rushing water, in the direction of my well-house. I raced into the house, grabbing wet gear, rubber boots and a broom with a wooden handle since the power switch to the well pump was inside the well house. I then opened the door, wondering if a ton of water would pour out, and about two feet of water for a 12 x 12 room did pour out, and the well pump was spraying out water in every direction. In I went with the broom handle and wacked the power off. Found the washer that had let go, and took it and returned to town, bought another washer, raced home, and replaced the washer, and cleaned everything up. Then I happily and excitedly asked if I could now go, and of course the answer was a resounding 'YES!!'. I was the last one in on Friday evening, 5 Huge tents had to be erected for the over-sized crowd, and I got the last position right by the door of the tent, and the door to the large arena of the school. This put me at the feet of my beloved teacher for two days, because I came straight in that door when we were all called. It was for me a glorious event, and those that saw me asked what changed my mind, and I gave them the story and that God held me back until my property would be safe for those days I was away. Three days of a pump furiously pouring water into a small shed would have had rather disastrous effects. I am eternally grateful for all my guidance and have learned to trust it even in the face of friends' doubts and judgments. And when my splendid teacher in addressing the more than 1300 people made a reference to the trusting of God, I involuntarily spoke out at his feet my heartfelt 'thank God' and received back from him, a pause and a look filled with such love and his saying out loud 'thank God indeed' to me. The lesson is invaluable and I am glad I could remain detached from personal desire. I am reminded that it may not just be God's plan that needs to be carried out to a 'T', but also my soul/spirit/God direction is also for my own protection and well-being. In other words, to see a thing for what it really is and not through a filter of how one would like it to be, or how one 'thinks' it is or 'feels' it is, or one's judgment based on previous associations to similar things. As a result one's responses would be more likely to be appropriate. This reminds me of the scene in the new Star Wars movie where the 2 Jedi knights are guiding the underwater craft through danger after danger with calm detachment while Zaza (?) is freaking out because he associates the dangers with death and pain. I know which of them I'd rather have on my side in a dark alley! By the way it is interesting that when talking of purity we are using cleaning examples! I got a new cleaning lady after I realised my other one was physically cleaning the house but actually leaving the place dirtier because of the ugly judgmental thought forms she was leaving behind about me and the way I live. "(4) The ability to either send or receive, to be either a teacher or a student as the situation demands. How are many people in illusion about this quality?" In many peoples' minds the teacher/student is a power issue relating to self-worth and not simply one in which the teacher knows more about the particular thing being taught, and how to communicate it, than does the student. It is seen as the master/servant relationship is often mistakenly viewed. But the master is always serving, so I suppose the teacher is always learning. It is often the people who are best in their field who recognize this and do not see it as giving away their authority or being submissive to get assistance from another. For example, it would be unthinkable for a top basketball player to not have a 'coach'. That same player would likely make an excellent teacher for other aspiring players. There is no growth in being only a transmitter or only a receiver. The ongoing energetic process is not complete, and blockages occur, unless incoming, transforming and sending out all takes place continually. "(5) The habit of reflecting daily, hourly, weekly on the results of the work and teachings and ways to make improvements." No room for complacency. An ongoing job! And also one to which one is so committed that it is a part of life, no, it is their life. So integrated with one's way of being in the world that one is never not doing the work, regardless of whatever he or she is doing at the time. (6) The possession of talents and abilities that will give him or her power to get the attention of the people and influence them in a positive direction." Not much point if can't communicate the teaching in some way or other. A disciple is not the repository of the teachings but a vehicle for them. If it stayed in a disciple without being shared it would stagnate and die or implode. Sharing keeps it alive and growing for both the teacher and the student. I guess a certain amount of charisma would help and genuineness/sincere belief in what one is communicating. (These seem to be desirable characteristics of sales people anyway!) Also being able to empathize with where others are at would be a useful ability. Then a disciple could understand and communicate in a way that others relate to, then make a bridge for them to cross between where they are now and what it is you want to teach them. Without such a link, the chasm can be too great. I think Joshua provided such a bridge for us to cross to God. These are my immediate thoughts, without much in the way of deep contemplation, but if I don't send them now, you'll be off and racing with the next topic! Hey All, I couldn't help but notice that each time I was reading of the list of qualities, I was reminded of a book, written by Guy Murchie. Danged if I can remember the title, at the moment, even if it is the second best book I ever read, but he had described how the whole universe is alive and gave much scientific data, in a Ripley's believe it or not fashion, to prove his point. And he goes on to say how life has qualities, which make it an ever expanding, positive force. Now JJ's list of what makes a good disciple, is in harmony, in my head, with the same things that make life itself so successful. And, seems to me, the lack of these qualities leads to death. Hmmm, The Master seeks the Living and the dead are left to bury the dead. There's a 2+2 in here somewhere. Y'all know what I mean. "(4) The ability to either send or receive, to be either a teacher or a student as the situation demands. How are many people in illusion about this quality?" It could be that many people are in illusion about this quality because of attachment. They are unwilling to let go of an old way to accommodate another or a better way. They are resistant to change. But since we are in constant change, it would seem that to resist/reject change would be one form of resisting/rejecting ourselves. Maybe denial is a better word. "(5) The habit of reflecting daily, hourly, weekly on the results of the work and teachings and ways to make improvements." It is necessary for even doctors to keep up to date on medical advances, thus they reflect daily, hourly, weekly for the sake of being able to better treat_ their patients. So a working disciple would also do much reflecting to be better able to teach, etc. "(6) The possession of talents and abilities that will give him or her power to get the attention of the people and influence them in a positive direction." I must revert to the physical again to my own talent. I have grown vegetable gardens for years. When awareness of ground pollution due to insecticides, awareness of weather patterns that can cultivate or destroy, came to my attention, I began to look for ways to improve my garden without chemicals_ and without losing the produce to premature demise. I found a book at the library "No Work Gardening" by Ruth Stout and after reading her message, I saw a great value in it. I proceeded to (high resistance used here) follow her method of gardening with great results. From there I have told many others about this method and encouraged them to try it also. Now they too have successful gardens with no loss. So I guess I did use my talent and ability for gardening to get and influence the attention of others in a positive direction. "(4) The ability to either send or receive, to be either a teacher or a student as the situation demands. How are many people in illusion about this quality?" Well to be of value in sending as a 'teacher' or even 'healer' the disciple must be capable of receiving clear pictures, instructions, etc. Since each situation has its unique 'demands' the situation must be given the opportunity to receive instruction or send instruction as soul direction is indicated. Usually a teacher has a given curriculum, usually from a 'higher authority' and often of a repetitive nature (whether spiritual or physical). The challenge to the teacher may be to repeat the teaching in various ways to awaken students from different perspectives. The wise teacher knows this is one's given curriculum but it does not mean there is not more for the teacher to learn, and thus continues one's own learning from a 'higher authority', being the student at that time/situation. Students may also spark a greater understanding of what the teacher is learning, and so the teacher is always open to greater understanding, and broadening one's knowledge outside the given curriculum. I have personally found that even when a greater wisdom is pouring forth from me, I am the willing student in that learning, and have often wondered if others learnt as I did at the time. Perhaps many people want to consider themselves as teachers when in a chosen student role to increase specific knowledge, wisdom or understanding, because the ego creates the illusion of importance and feels diminished by a student role (glamor). "(5) The habit of reflecting daily, hourly, weekly on the results of the work and teachings and ways to make improvements." Philosophy is just that, gained from a teacher even though it may be the teacher's direct experience and wisdom gained. Until the student willingly contemplates, and desires to experience that philosophy as their own potential truth, there is no action or drawing to them of an equivalent learning experience. True wisdom is gained through individual experience then contemplated for its demonstrated truth, and is the goal for all of us here. It is in the APPLICATION of what is taught, that learning can take hold and become demonstrable wisdom. Without application there is no improvement or change to past habitual (repetitive) thought patterns which reflect continuously into our lives. This demonstration by the student in willingness to apply shows the Masters truly our abilities and determination. Walking the talk is to me Jesus saying 'be the example'. It is ultimately walking the Christ Consciousness in life. "(6) The possession of talents and abilities that will give him or her power to get the attention of the people and influence them in a positive direction." What we have lacked for so long, is inspiring role models, often in our everyday life. Those that have demonstrated greater truths in their life, naturally draw those desiring to learn and understand these greater truths. Our movie media and the splendid actors/actresses are using their abilities to inspire us. Not surprisingly they become our role models in so many things, not always appropriate. Yet in our lack of strong role models, it is to be expected. I watched John Travolta and his wife on TV the other day, rather by accident than design, and John was so profound in his love of his wife, and his comments that 'he creates his marriage everyday'. After eight years and the joy he demonstrates in his life, and his love of his child were so inspiring, and putting them first even in his contracts was magnificent. Because he has used his abilities in many inspiring movies, and applied much in his personal life (from my limited perspective it would seem) he has become a great role model to many. This puts him in a position of being a candidate for teaching at the highest levels to many. Just one sentence given so humbly can be so inspiring to so many using that media. Let's go back to a question Rob Byrd asked awhile back (this is from Week 1998-47 - message 926): It seems as though there has been some confusion which began with message 86 (Ruth mentioned Thunder books), she was not asking whether they were right or wrong but if they had been read by J J or anyone on the list .There was a mention in The Immortal book 1 by John of 2 other books which had been written that were non-fiction and were not successful. We were both curious if the Thunder books might have been one of those. P.S. I am still curious as to what the other books were, if you are aware of what they are? Please give me an answer if you can. JJ Dewey's response (from Week 1998-47 - message932 "There was a mention of two other attempts to reach the masses with teachings. The Thunderbooks was not one of these specified ones, but there have been many things done by the Brotherhood that I do not know about - so who knows unless you get some type of confirmation." Why all the cloak and dagger JJ? You have stated above "The Thunderbooks was not one of these specified ones...". This tells me that you know what they are, but for some reason did not reveal the identity of the titles of these 2 books or their authors. I don't see this as being a difficult question to answer since you already know the answer. What is the purpose of keeping these 2 books hidden? If you feel that it is not "good" for the flock to read these books, I understand. Since I am no longer a member of the flock, how about e-mailing me privately with the answer? I would appreciate it very much. Maybe there is something in one of these two books that will turn on that light bulb between my ears. What I call the soul is a negative entity in his opinion:-) From what I read in your post, the reasons that you infer as to why JJ does not give the book titles are many, but the key thing is the reason why you hold on to this point. In my imagination, JJ does not give the books title in order not to create unuseful or negative effects, like "JJ said that" --and follows a factual information about another teaching. Well it's true enough that he gave some about Benjamin Cr_me you might say:-) But pointing at someone and saying: "he is a true student" may carry more trouble than saying the contrary. I do hope Lelona and Garret decide to stay. I feel somewhat "attached" to them since they are such old timers on the list. I do understand that Lelona has other teaching projects going that probably leaves her little time to participate, but Garrett, why are you leaving? You ask about the other two "attempts." Notice that they were attempts, not books. They were attempts to circulate certain teachings through disciples, but failed to take hold. These attempts are unknown to the world at large and it would not be advantageous to elaborate on them now as all the teachings (and more) that failed to take root will be presented again in the Immortal books and the teachings I give here on the list. One of the main problems the Brotherhood has is that they are not very effective in working in the astral/emotional levels and if the average seeker were to just hear their teachings repeated through a disciple they would find them boring. They tend to find the writings of ZOR from the planet Xemos much more exciting, even if they are full of illusion and a rehash of things already revealed. Because there are few people on the planet who can recognize truth for truth's sake a method had to be created to present the new truths in a way that could reach down to the emotional level and stimulate the needed response, for without a fairly strong emotional response a work cannot be created that will reach the multitudes. This is where The Immortal comes in. I was to take the truths and put them in a book presented as fiction. This gave me the license to enhance the story on an emotional level, yet keep the teachings intact. This put a big responsibility on me since I have never written a full fiction novel before. This seems to have worked. I would guess that for every two books published that we receive one letter telling us how the story affected them, usually to the emotional level. I have never heard of an author having 50% of his readers writing him. From the response that is generated I know that it is just a matter of time before the book is a hit. The only trouble is that we are promoting it with very limited means. We are currently experimenting with methods of promotion. The most powerful so far is the giving away the free Book One by current readers. If any readers believe that they can give away 15 or more Book Ones we will be glad to send them free of charge in the US. Just e-mail me and let me know how many you can give away. "From the response that is generated I know that it is just a matter of time_ before the book is a hit. At my own expense, I've considered dropping the line "Question Reality - www.freeread.com" into a classified ad in our local newspaper. While it doesn't give much information, it will spark the interest of the reader, and hopefully get them to surf over to the web site. I'm not sure what the newspaper would say, but I don't think they'd care, as long as they get their money. It would be a step towards getting some people in the local area interested in the topic, and hopefully get enough people to form 'Synthesis Groups'. Let me know what you think... - Dave Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-16/5158 From: J J Dewey Subject: Initiation and the Point of Tension I will present additional qualities and then go back and analyze them more thoroughly later when I have more time. Here are the qualities we have presented so far: (1) Soul contact (2) Holding the mind steady in the light (3) Detachment when necessary. (4) The ability to either send or receive (5) Reflection - contemplation (6) Talent. Now for two more (7) The power, motivation and will to initiate and work in isolation and high resistance if necessary (8) The ability to create a point of tension and use the tension creatively to bear fruit. We have covered in some detail what an initiate is but the point of tension may be new to some of you in relation to spiritual work. Some of you may have heard it used in physics. Whatever the case, contemplate these two new abilities and some ideas should come. Why do the Masters look for these qualities in the working disciple? Notice I use the phrase "working disciple?" By working disciple I mean one who is working directly under the influence of the Brotherhood. There are many other levels. Other disciples work directly under the guidance of their soul or in conjunction with entities from the spiritual world who are not yet Masters. Still others think they are the new Messiah but have not yet even mastered their physical appetites and maya essential to the first initiation. A disciple can do all of these things because he has a mind of his own. I think that's a key factor in being a disciple, because there is a lot to be done, and sometimes the Brotherhood of Light doesn't have the time to sit and dictate tasks to everyone. Beyond that, the disciple has his own independence, and the Brotherhood would never infringe upon that. So the disciple should be capable of starting, and completing, tasks that are better for the whole. Naturally, the disciple will encounter high resistance from the Dark Brotherhood if he is doing the highest good. It's to be expected, so he should be willing and able to work under high resistance. "(8) The ability to create a point of tension and use the tension creatively to bear fruit." Sometimes creating a point of tension causes people to stop and rethink some of their previous beliefs. If used creatively, it can even help some people see truth through illusion. It can also be used to spark interest in those who are willing to see and accept the truth. Those who are unwilling will either turn the other cheek, or do everything in their power to prove you wrong. That way to filter out those who are uninterested in truth, and find those who can be taught effectively. - Dave Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-18/5162 From: Glenys Lowery Subject: Re: Initiation and the Point of Tension J J Dewey wrote: "(8) The ability to create a point of tension and use the tension creatively to bear fruit. Whatever the case, contemplate these two new abilities and some ideas should come. Why do the Masters look for these qualities in the working disciple?" I was a physics drop out more years ago than I care to remember. But my understanding is that a state of tension exists when a balance is caused between two opposing forces which in turn, causes an extension of some kind. To me, it speaks of balance - you can't go very far in one direction without swinging back in the other. It is at the point of balance that there is rest as well as tension. Think of a wheel - the centre balances all the spokes (opposites) and is in a state of equilibrium. In fact, all the opposites in balance make the wheel possible. The entire universe exists in a state of balance and every idea in the universe holds within itself its own contradiction. If we apply the maxim, As Above, So Below, we, too, must strive to achieve balance in our lives. Once this point of tension (balance) exists, we are then empowered to achieve much as we walk the Path of Light, no longer tossed about by every difficulty and barrier that besets us. We are able to take the Middle Way and 'looking neither to the left or right' gain greater soul contact and bear much fruit. But then, as I say, physics isn't my strong point :-) Love Glenys -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Out beyond all right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field. I'll meet you there." ~ Rumi Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-17/5163 From: J J Dewey Subject: The Point of Tension Good comments Glenys and Dave. Glenys was a brave soul to venture an explanation of the point of tension. It wasn't quite in the direction we will go with it but she still puts forth some good truths. The point of tension is a point of stress that precedes all creation and leaps forward in evolution. If you take a model airplane and wind up its propeller, the rubber band will incur more and more stress or tension until it becomes taut. The flyer mist use judgment and reach the right point of tension. If he winds too much the band will snap and disaster will occur. On the other hand, if he winds the right amount he can constructively harness the energy of the tension to fly the plane. Another, but different example of the point of tension is the adding of sugar to a glass of water. If you add a small amount the sugar it seems to disappear because its particles goes in the empty spaces between the water molecules. But if you keep adding sugar the space between the molecules fills up and a point of tension occurs in the water. When this point of tension is reached the sugar becomes visible and some of that which was hidden materializes along with the added sugar. This corresponds to creation. As you put ATTENTION on the work to be done and send energy to it may seem that nothing is happening for a period of time. But when the point of tension is reached an almost miraculous materialization will occur. Some have wondered why I put so much attention on this list at the sacrifice of delaying the Immortal books, but a large part of the reason is to create a point of tension with the group so higher creation can take place. The group has only had a couple winds of the propeller and there are many more to go, but if we do not release our attention and energy a miraculous creation awaits on the horizon. I should have more time to write tomorrow. JJ Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-18/5164 From: Alex Appelman Subject: When your mail server tries to isolate you ! This may seem strange, because after all, it's just a computer thing, right? Well, in the very instant I made that decision, the problem corrected itself. Of course, that would just be a nice coincidence if it didn't repeat itself the next time when I sat at the computer, (in not a very focused mood) and the problem started again. Well, I'm not THAT big a dummy, I remembered what I did the last time, tried it again, and what do you suppose occurred? That's right, at the EXACT MOMENT I realigned my thinking, the "problem" vanished. But I don't think it's because the computers are conscious. At least I hope not. :o) Blessings Folks, John Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-18/5170 From: J J Dewey Subject: Welcome Alex No apologies necessary Alex. I never seem to get calm enough to do the trick, but she claims it works for her." This is so fun. I have come to understand that every 'thing' here has a consciousness, to be here. Simple yes, but still consciousness. When we're frustrated which is some sort of fear in action (I can't get the job I want to do done etc), consciousness reacts to the fear, giving a fearful reaction...suddenly malfunctioning, and then having no clear picture given back to it of how to correct the problem. Ultimately we then lock in with this thing that won't work, throw it out, and wow, that would not feel to good to be on the receiving end of!! Since creation operates best through pictures, and giving back to us the picture it receives, it is another reminder to release the fear first, and create what we want, not lock into what we don't want continuing to happen. A number of years ago in my 'flying days' I was co-piloting and we were about to take off from Toowoomba in Queensland. Starting the twin engine aircraft, the right engine would not start. So the left was started, and then the right re-tried. A friend was seeing us off, and as he saw the engine not catching after many tries, he started to walk out to help with a prop start. Now I for one am not keen on prop starts in twins because of the powerful kick in the engine (bigger engine than in single engine aircraft) and the force of torque causing the plane to literally move albeit only a small amount even though hard on the brakes. I am not one happy to see someone standing in front of prop engines that are running hoping they get all parts of themselves out of the way when the engine does start. So I asked the pilot (who loved to operate in resistance to everything it seemed to me) to give it one more try, and he kept saying, not it wasn't going to start, and I said please just one more try, 'it will start!' Meanwhile I see the engine starting and asked God to make it start now so someone did not have to pull the prop. My pilot reluctantly gave it another try, perhaps to 'humor' me, and I held the picture of the engine running, and it did. We happily waved to our friend, and taxied out as I thanked God, for the simplest of things for I know consciousness follows thought. I have used this extensively, and yes computers have challenged me to keep my focus and consciousness only on picturing the reality I want to achieve. I have even understood what might seem fantastic, that when you turn away, your house can disappear...particle matter returning to the wave form. And the house is only 'there', the wave becoming a particle, because we picture it expecting it to be there. Thus my consciousness can give a picture to a motor, to an animal perhaps on the road (seeing it running very fast away from the road) at the fast speed of a thought rather than the slow physical reactions of avoiding hitting the animal, and thus we are working together to a common goal. We have a powerful ability to create the reality around us according to our thought, whether we want to consciously use it or not. How wonderful that we can learn the benefits of this in such love and laughter. I've taken this kind of trip three times in my life and every time I have, I've noticed that I find at least as many spectacular blessings along the uncharted course, as there are at the destination. Love and Blessings, John Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-19/5181 From: J J Dewey Subject: Elaboration of Qualities Subject under discussion: The qualities of the disciple. Here is what we have so far: (1) Soul contact (2) Holding the mind steady in the light (3) Detachment when necessary. (4) The ability to either send or receive (5) Reflection - contemplation (6) Talent. (7) The power to initiate (8) The ability to create and sense a point of tension. I'll just say a few more things about the point of tension. A synonymous term could be "the ability to keep your attention focused on a goal." This quality is different than keeping the mind steady in the light. Keeping the mind in the light gives one the power select goals that bring spiritual progress. Creating the point of tension through focused attention gives the disciple power to achieve a goal. The disciple can have all the good intentions in the world, but until he develops a power to achieve, all his goodness is of little direct use to the Brotherhood of Light. Nevertheless, keep in mind that basic good characteristics are never wasted, for we all go through a long period of being more of a liability to the Brotherhood than an asset and during this period many good acts of service can be performed in cooperation with other brothers and sisters on the physical plane and sometimes discarnate entities. The Brotherhood of Light are still subject to time and space as far as their work on the physical plane is concerned, and because of this, must be careful with whom they work for one premature choice can cost them work with two other disciples who are prepared. On the other hand, we are entering a period where the number who enter the ranks of Masters will greatly increase and thus the number of working disciples will also increase. Many worry about a lack of opportunity, but to those who are prepared to work with the abilities they have (compared to those who want to work with_____ imagined abilities) there is more opportunity than can be filled. The trouble is that many seekers sit around and wait for some call to come which is worthy of their greatness. This is why the power to initiate is so important. No major call will come until the disciple first calls himself to step forward and do good works of service with or without recognition. If there seems to be no great work to do, the disciple will create one and press forward with great attention even if he is ignored by the Brotherhood, friends, God and NATO. The one higher power that will never ignore the aspiring disciple is his own soul which is a Master on it's own plane. When soul contact is established the disciple is able to move forward with the idea that contact with the Brotherhood of Light would be fine, but if it does not come that would be fine too. The most important ability for the true disciple is the freedom to decide and carry out those decisions on the path of unselfish service. This freedom to serve according to one's free will brings the disciple more reward than all the material things in the world and any recognition from the inhabitants of the Kingdom of God is seen as a bonus. There are points of tension on the material level and the spiritual. Those who create such points in the material usually have material success, but the disciple shifts his attention to the spiritual so the tension can manifest revelation and spiritual knowledge which descends from the "rain cloud of knowable things." There are points of tension created and directed by the disciple and there are also points of tension that exist in many spheres outside of ourselves. There are points of tension in time, for instance, which is created by cycles. The disciple must learn to recognize these points through the use of intuition. Thus, if he pays attention to cycles of time he will sense an approaching tension in time itself and work within that tension to assist in there creation of a work of service. If he senses a lack of tension in time he may use this period as preparation for a tension to come. There are points of tension in space. The sacred sites of the earth are created by such tension producing an elevated energy. There are also major points of tension in overlapping tensions of time and space and these produce powerful opportunities that draw attention from even the Masters. There are also points of tension created through the focused contemplation of higher lives such as Christ and the Brotherhood of Light, and the Ancient of Days and His associates. Those mortals who are attuned to these points of tension are likely to receive some type of contact, provided they have adequately prepared themselves. Attunement to a point of tension from the aura of a Master shows a certain degree of readiness to serve. Number four, the ability to both send and receive deserves some more comment. Several of you have made some good postings on this one. The basic point several made was that when you are teaching you are also doing some learning in that same period, and when you are learning you are also doing some teaching. This is true to a degree, but it is also true that we are always polarized in either the sending or receiving mode. He who fails to reach discipleship will be too attached to his polarization. If he is too attached to the sending polarization then when learning, or receiving, opportunities come the seeker will be unable to adapt and miss the receiving of knowledge important to success. If he is too attached to receiving he will be captivated by unearned authority (the Beast) and miss sending opportunities because he is waiting for approval before he moves forward. The disciple does not need a "call," approval or authority, but uses his ability to send when opportunity presents itself. Very few disciples can switch back and forth between sending and receiving polarization with comfort. Remember, this is different than learning a few things while teaching. Switching actual polarization at will is very awkward at first, but eventually becomes joyful. This quality goes hand in hand with detachment for it requires a certain degree of detachment to switch polarization Here are two additional qualities needed by a disciple that goes beyond general love and goodness that most recognize as desirable qualities. (9) A willingness to not only serve but to sacrifice when necessary, to the giving of time, talents, personal desires, possessions and even the physical life if the need is there. We did point out earlier that sacrifice was the keynote of the Age of Pisces and service is that of Aquarius. Even so, the benefits of sacrifice are not left behind but will be used with wisdom. In the coming age service will be the top priority and sacrifice secondary. Nevertheless, there will always be times when service will reach a dead end without sacrifice and when this happens the right use of this quality comes into play. Sacrifice is indeed a quality that the disciple must be willing to produce if called upon. Disciples need to avoid like the plague the sacrifice mode that creates the atmosphere of a victim. The disciple never sees himself as a victim no matter what the outward circumstances. (10) Discernment. Question: Why do you suppose this is an important quality for the working disciple? How could it spell disaster if he or she does not possess it? JJ Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-19/5182 From: "Christopher Wynter" Subject: A Little Bit OT ... Christopher Wynter Hobart, Tasmania wynter@bigpond.com http://www.anunda.com WEDNESDAY, MAY 19, 1999 CHILD REARING BY PRESCRIPTION IS BECOMING PERVASIVE. Using drugs to rein in boys Brad Knickerbocker (bradknick@aol.com) Staff writer of The Christian Science Monitor When he was 11 years old, Michael Gurian was diagnosed as hyperactive, and for six months he was given regular doses of a drug called Ritalin to control his behavior. "It helped me and my parents," recalls Mr. Gurian, now a family therapist in Spokane, Wash. But what he really needed, he sees now, "was a different kind of school and family environment - a better structured, more attentive one." The Littleton, Colo., school-shooting tragedy has highlighted the widespread use of powerful prescription drugs to treat what are diagnosed as emotional and behavioral problems in adolescents - the great majority of them boys. Several of those involved in recent school shootings were being treated with drugs, and the number of young Americans regularly taking prescription drugs for such things as depression and "attention deficit disorder" has shot way up in the past few years. It's now in the millions - many times higher than in any other country. Advocates say such drugs can help certain kids through the already-tough teen years, preventing antisocial and even criminal behavior later in life. Russell Barkley, director of psychology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., calls Ritalin "the most effective treatment we have available for the management of this disorder." Critics charge that some of these substances have not been adequately tested on young people, and federal agencies warn of possible adverse side effects. Some experts say such heavy reliance on drugs is an easy and relatively cheap cop-out favored by disengaged parents and insurance companies who'd rather have kids pop a pill than deal with root causes through counseling and the family. There's also evidence that widely used prescription drugs such as Ritalin (a stimulant used to treat those diagnosed with attention deficit disorder) are being abused by teens and college students, much like amphetamines and cocaine. "Our society has institutionalized drug abuse among our children," says Peter Breggin, director of the Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology in Bethesda, Md., and one of the most outspoken critics. "Worse yet, we abuse our children with drugs rather than making the effort to find better ways to meet their needs." "In the long run, we are giving our children a very bad lesson - that drugs are the answer to emotional problems," says Dr. Breggin, whose recent book is titled "Talking Back to Ritalin." "We are encouraging a generation of youngsters to grow up relying on psychiatric drugs rather than on themselves and other human resources," says Breggin, suggesting that creativity - perhaps even brilliance - is being stifled in such young people. Nonsense, says Dr. Barkley, who recommends the use of drugs as part of a treatment regime. "Characterizing this group of children as our best, most creative, and brightest does a severe injustice to the facts of the matter and is woefully misleading to the public in general and to parents of these children in particular," says Barkley, who accuses Breggin of violating the physician's oath to "do no harm." Characteristics of ADD Simply put, attention deficit disorder (ADD), also known as attention deficit/hyperactive disorder (ADHD), means the inability to sit still, pay attention, and concentrate on an assigned task - such as classroom schoolwork. From time to time, any exasperated parent or teacher may think they spot these ants-in-their- pants characteristics in offspring or pupils. But the scientific symptoms attached to such behavior can be fuzzy and therefore controversial. In their book "Driven to Distraction: Recognizing and Coping with Attention Deficit Disorder from Childhood through Adulthood," physicians Edward Hallowell and John Ratey suggest 100 questions to ask a patient to determine the presence of ADD (the more "yes" answers, the greater the likelihood of a problem). Among them: "Do you change the radio station in your car frequently?" "Are you particularly intuitive?" "Are you a gung-ho, go-for-it sort of person?" "As a kid, were you a bit of a klutz at sports?" "Are you a maverick?" Many of these characteristics, critics say, amount to nothing more than rambunctious, boy-like behavior. Harvard psychologist William Pollack estimates that 90 percent of those so diagnosed are boys. While some adolescent males may need such drugs, says family therapist Michael Gurian, many others are misdiagnosed and do not. "Most boys are Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer," says Mr. Gurian, author of "A Fine Young Man" and several other books on adolescent boys, "and if Huck and Tom were alive today and going to school, they'd be drugged." Rise in prescriptions Ritalin (known generically as methylphenidate or MPH) is a stimulant that - paradoxically - is said to calm agitated children. Estimates of the number of children in the United States taking Ritalin range from 1.5 million to upwards of 4 million - most of them white, middle-class boys who live in the suburbs. (In addition, more than 800,000 American children are taking antidepressant drugs such as Prozac or Luvox. Eric Harris, one of the alleged assailants in Littleton, had been taking Luvox.) The number of prescriptions for MPH products reportedly has increased by 50 percent over the past five years, to more than 9 million prescriptions in 1998. According to the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the United States "manufactures and consumes five times more MPH than the rest of the world combined," noting also that MPH "is now the most commonly prescribed psychotropic medicine for children in the US." "Treatment rates for ADHD in some American schools are as high as 30 percent to 40 percent of a class and children as young as one year old are treated with methylphenidate," the International Narcotics Control Board, a United Nations agency, reported in March. In addition, the report noted, "American culture and its drug-taking behavior have a strong influence on other regions. Methylphenidate use for children has rapidly increased in Australia, Canada, and several European countries." The DEA describes MPH as "a central nervous system stimulant [that] shares many of the pharmacological effects of amphetamine, methamphetamine, and cocaine." The DEA warns that a "significant number" of children and adolescents are misusing Ritalin. "Students are giving and selling their medication to classmates who are crushing and snorting the powder like cocaine," reports the DEA, which urges "greater caution and more restrictive use of MPH." Such caution appears to have been confirmed in a recent survey of family physicians and pediatricians. At a meeting of the Pediatric Academic Societies in San Francisco May 1, clinical scholar Jerry Rushton of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill reported that 72 percent of 600 family physicians and pediatricians surveyed had prescribed antidepressant drugs for patients under age 8. But just 8 percent of those surveyed said they had adequate training in the management of child depression. "Our survey data suggest that despite a lack of research support, adequate training, and comfort with the management of depression, [antidepressant drugs] are gaining physician acceptance and becoming incorporated into primary care practice," says Dr. Rushton. While such drugs "show promise," he adds, "they should be used with caution and monitored closely, not used haphazardly for transient problems - not for school problems or nebulous behavioral problems." Some medical professionals have begun to see that there are broader issues involved here. "Demands on children have grown, while the strength of their social supports - school and family - has decreased," says Lawrence Diller, a pediatrician in Walnut Creek, Calif., and author of "Running on Ritalin: A Physician Reflects on Children, Society, and Performance in a Pill." "Children are expected to learn earlier and learn more, yet we have higher student-teacher ratios in the classroom," Dr. Diller wrote recently in the San Francisco Chronicle. "Parents are working harder and longer. That means less time for their children and more structured day care and latchkey kids." In the wake of the school shootings in Springfield, Ore., and Littleton, Colo., (where the attackers had been taking prescribed drugs), some lawmakers are urging greater government oversight. In a letter to Food and Drug Administration commissioner Jane Henney earlier this month, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D) of Ohio expressed concern that the FDA (which must approve prescription drugs) "has failed to provide adequate oversight of the health consequences of prescribing certain drugs to children." Representative Kucinich called for "comprehensive clinical trials by the pharmaceutical companies prior to FDA approval." He wrote: "It should be apparent that this matter carries considerable urgency." HOW TO DETECT A 2-WAY MIRROR When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror or actually a 2-way mirror (i.e. they can see you, but you can't see them)?" Hi All, I tried to pass on this and not say anything. I just can't. If someone wants to watch, give them your best. You most likely have nothing different to share. What are your fears? If you don't want to be raped, you can't be, if you are aware that the illusion of only being seen by yourself, never has existed. Your body is NOT you. Even in a rape of body, you are not the body. Your mind is not your body either. You have the power to control your thoughts and only you choose what you think. Bodies are hidden from others eyes because of our thinking. There is no reason for thinking you need to hide yourself. If you don't want to be seen by unknowing eyes, ask what are you hiding for or from? I know this is absurd thinking to most. Give it some real thought. You truly are beautiful and need have no fear. Loving soul, BJ Ps This was not my first reaction years ago when I learned of the two way mirror. I have reflected on this and learned that the mirror of the mirror has more meaning and is more symbolic than the first glance shows. Question: Why do you suppose this is an important quality for the working disciple? How could it spell disaster if he or she does not possess it? JJ" I have had a mild amount of (metaphorical) beating around the head lately through not being discerning about who and what I let into my circumstances, so I have been looking at this very issue in my life before it becomes a serious problem. I was told that I can either use my experience as a point of change, a way to 'up' the discernment, or that what has happened will be merely a harbinger of worse things to come. No thank you! So I am realizing how important are the boundaries and standards I set for myself. While it is a fine thing to be open and receptive, if this is done without discernment then it can be very harmful. For example, I would not leave my house unlocked so just anyone could walk in because the chances are someone might come and steal my property. It would show I lack discernment about the culture I live in. (The wrong energy in the wrong place - where it doesn't belong.) Similarly, while I do not judge my clients as good or bad (I am a counselor), I do not associate with them in my private life because I don't want that kind of relationship with my friends. And it is important to be spiritually discerning so as to avoid the harm a Brother Philo can cause. Recently I let someone into my life who played on my energy, invaded my psyche (with my consent) negatively affecting myself and, worse, some people around me for whom I feel responsibility. This is unusual because, for example, I will not even take a phone call in my bedroom from someone to whom I am not close, because I don't want that energy in the wrong place. Seems I am more discerning about the little things than the things that glare me in the face. At the same time I don't want to be so closed and protective that I shut out the miracles and magic. So discernment can help me draw the fine line between being open to the things I want in my life and closing the door to the things I do not want. The internet is an example of a very undiscerning tool. It is so open to everything and everyone that using one's discernment as to who one admits into one's life via it is very important. I think I have just said the same thing over and over again, in an attempt to get it into my own thick head! I really enjoy and take some comfort from hearing the experiences of some of the Keysters which are, like my own, often not in the mainstream. Zia, you wrote, "I have even understood what might seem fantastic, that when you turn away, your house can disappear...particle matter returning to the wave form. And the house is only 'there', the wave becoming a particle, because we picture it expecting it to be there." I went to visit some friends on a farm and had to travel (in my car) up a small steep hill. I couldn't see what was on the other side, and no tree tops or anything showed above the top of the hill or to the sides. It was like I had to trust that I had made the other side with my thinking, because if I had not and my expectations were not correct, then I could be about to sail through thin air over the edge of a cliff, (or in to another dimension for all I knew.) Life's a bit like that! And John, I too see my car as a good platform from which to view the world, not just a means of getting from one place to another. When I take this perspective, I see some wonderful things when I go for a drive. Enjoy the journey. Love Jennifer Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-20/5192 From: Zia Subject: Re: Experiences Greetings to All, and to you Jennifer, I always enjoy your thoughts and comments, and discernment is something we learn in the experience of life, not really taught very well by our parents or even role models. Discernment is about taking back our power of choices, of seeing all sides, even from other people's experience. Often times, people's doubts and fears need to be discerned as just that, regarding their 'experiences', or more likely the potential of experiences. Discernment is seeking the truth about something for me and using every available tool in observing the choices, that lead to the decision making process. We are often in a rush, pressured by others, or our own doubts about ourself, and excuse our needed discernment through the 'she'll be right mate!!' type of attitude. I have recently been surprised by many people's attitude that technical information and university qualifications and material proofs of validity on paper, seem so much more valuable than people's personal experience. And also that those experiences are only of value if you know the person. I am so grateful for my own soul contact, that allows me to move past worldly credentials and validations into guidance of my inner knowing, and then the creation of the experience being my own as well. I have found profoundly that doubts and fears truly affect the outcome of any given experience chosen. So using discernment, is to see how much of this colors the information being given, influencing and affecting the outcome. This to me is particularly important in a 'healing' application. The thoughts we lay upon even the food, and drinks we consume also color the result in the body, and healing can be exacted just through such a simple medium. I remember I had a dear friend staying with me from Australia. A beautiful part Maori woman of wonderful psychic ability. On the evening before her departure I felt a deep sadness at her going and expressed that I really didn't want her to leave. We laughed together, but I also felt homesick and many things. The next morning as we went out the door to take her to the airport, I discovered a flat tire...and that was not too timely...as I live quite remote...so I furiously pumped up the tire, realizing I had created the delay hoping she wouldn't leave, and just creating obstacles to what needed to be. In seeing this, I was able to have a very quick repair after making it to town, as I had removed the obstacle in my mind to her leaving. Becoming aware of our power to create our reality...is so wonderful because we can change anything when we realise what we are doing. This is discernment within myself, of my intentions, and my fears. Often times other people view our decision to be in a position of choice, as fearful. We may not want all our information 'open' to the internet...and some may see this as fearful and the need to hide in that fear, whereas it may be rather discerning, and giving the opportunity of choice back to me. Choice is a great God given power, and I am respectful of that. Perhaps the Great Brotherhood of Light wants us to ensure our power of choice through wise and timely discernment, as a protection of ourselves and them through us, because what good to them are we, if we have no discernment, and are rapidly jeopardising ourselves or their gift of knowledge to all, through inappropriate attitudes or lack of discernment. We would do well to operate in life as we see them, to guard what is precious, and give to those that demonstrate a proven ability to use what is given wisely. Then we walk as a 'master' drawing that like energy to ourself.
