1999 - WEEK 23 Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-07/4953 From: Rick Audette Subject: Re: Cause and Effect "Gee Rick, It must be nice to have a bookshelf full mental precipitation. Some of the teachings may not be new to you, but I had my eyes opened a few times by channelings and other inspired teachings." Granted, James, some can glean some useful things from channels. Much good medical information came through Cayce. I'm sure we could come up with a list of other useful teachings. I'm sorry if I pushed anybody's buttons on this one. My point goes something like this. I have met a number of people that got there philosophical jump start with drugs. There are more than a few on this list. But I have also seen way too many lives get messed up by drugs and having a 12 year old daughter I can only hope that she does not ever go through the same experiences. My hope is that I am a good enough teacher for the next generation that it does not require them to go looking for answers from drug pushers. I feel likewise about channels. Yes, some discriminating individuals, such as the fine folks on this list, might be able to reap some benefits from mediums, but I feel they pose a great threat to the majority of mankind and I'll be glad when the streets are clear of them. But hey, that's just me thinking out loud and I'm clever, but I'm not the guy with all the answers. Some times I hit a sour note and folks don't agree with my ideas. Well, at least y'all have a better idea of where I'm coming from and that's worth something. Diane Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-07/4956 From: "Jay" Subject: Re: JJ/Glenys/Xavier Hello JJ, Glenys, Xavier, Thanking for taking the time to write to me. Glenys you are so down to earth and say it like it is, I recognise these qualities and I see them within me. :o] Yes JJ has little time, as do a lot of people these days and I do appreciate when people take the time to answer questions. I also don't see as desiring understanding through asking questions is being spoon fed the answers. Often a person's perception is linked with their feelings and you may be able to get more of a handle from a person than from a book. Often by a question and discussion achieves a higher level of awareness as one person might come up with a different view than your self and it is always an opportunity to expand your awareness that little bit further. Xavier Yes it is important to express our emotions and our feelings even though it may not be favourable. I felt the word "backstabber" in with the quote "sticking the knife in", I suppose it is a cultural thing. What came to my mind when I read your post were four lines from William Blake's Poem A Poison Tree *** I was angry with my friend, I told my wrath, my wrath did end. I was angry with my foe, I told it not my wrath did grow. *** I know saying exactly how you feel sometimes is better than keeping something inside; that way any malicious or hurt feelings diminish and don't have a chance to grow. JJ I can understand how you have limited time to answer everything, I also know what it is like to write and have your thought processes diminish by disruptions. I am in the middle of a writing project myself, your email to me confirmed to concentrate on and finish my project. I was touched by Jill's post and thought I would take a moment and comment. Glenys is right about my limited time. I often feel bad when I read many of your great posts making important points and that I cannot comment on them all. Sometimes when I begin my writings I just have to make a sweeping statement about them. But I do notice this. That when something noteworthy is said that I miss commenting on it seems that someone steps forward and fills the slack and often says the same thing about the post that I would - the Oneness principle at work. Admittedly we have not perfected it, as a group, but the seeds have been planted and the ideal sensed by many. As for you Jill, I was glad to see that both Zia (especially Zia), Glenys and possibly others have made good comments about your writings. I have also read them all and appreciate what you have said. Even though I have not mentioned you by name some of my recent responses have been with answering you and others in mind. Thank you for your acknowledgement of my writing and I acknowledge your time limit and appreciate you not being able to answer all emails that are sent on the list. However I also have to acknowledge my feelings and if I ask some one questions and they don't answer them, I find this annoying and if someone wants to view this as being overly sensitive then they can, I just view this as me being honest. So why aren't you writing your books? The Immortal story was fabulous, I know people that are hanging out for the next book. "Let me make just several comments to your questions. You mention that Jesus wanted us to become as little children. This is true but then the scriptures seem to say the opposite here: "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." I Cor 13:11-12" "So which scripture is correct?" "Answer. They both are when you examine the meaning." "Jesus was talking about people who were set in their ways and refused to be opened to new things. In this relationship He was telling us that we must be open-minded as children and be willing to learn to enter the Kingdom of Heaven." "But Paul was also teaching the truth, but instead of attitude he was talking about the learning process itself. He was saying that we grow up and mature we learn better methods and gain knowledge and as we do we put away childish things like believing in Santa just because someone tells you he exists. Yet we should always follow the advice of Jesus and be open to the possibility." "We must become as open as a child to receive soul contact, but put away childish (unworkable methods) to keep it." I am sorry JJ I don't see that interpretation or feel that is the interpretation in these scriptures, I hope no one here at this time is going to shoot this messenger as I write this with the most sincerest loving intentions for truth. Jesus said unless we do not receive the kingdom of God as a little child he shall not enter within. Since John wrote that God is love and love is within the heart then this is where the Kingdom of God lies. It says nothing about learning as a little child. That passage you quoted out of Corinthians is from the passage of the way of love, I didn't pick up that he was talking about the learning process of a person. I picked up that he was talking about unless you have love (divine), feel it in your heart then it doesn't matter what you learn, what you speak, what you know without love you have really nothing. I will now quote some of the passages a little before your quote as why I believe the above: The way of Love Corinthians Chp 13 1. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as a sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal. 2. And though I have the gift of prophecy and understanding all mysteries, and all knowledge, and though I have faith, so I could remove mountains and have not love I am nothing. 8. Love never fails, but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail, whether there be tongues they shall cease, whether there be knowledge it shall vanish away 9. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 For when that which is perfect is come then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly, but then face to face now I know in part but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now abideth faith, hope and love, these three, but the greatest of these is love. Looking at these verses Paul recognised the importance of Love, more important than knowledge, prophesy, tongues, faith, and hope. I don't see how valuing Divine love/God above everything else and feeling it as being childish. Love with God's wisdom is much more powerful and fulfilling than knowledge alone. "It sounds like you have a lot of feelings to work through. One thing that is important is to get them out in the open and let them work themselves out. We will eventually cover this subject and it will be interesting indeed." Thank you for having my best interest at heart. Yes I do have a lot of feelings and emotions as do we all. I don't have to work through them I am in very tune with my feelings, very open feel quite free with diminishing fear to express how I feel, especially to 180 members with whom I have never met physically. The only thing I have to deal with at this time is a lot of negative energy coming to me from all sorts of places while I am trying to manage to keep my positive equilibrium especially when I am working on my project. You covering feelings could indeed be quite an interesting subject and inspire some amazing posts :o] "Meanwhile those group hugs sure feel good don't they? A lot of them are for you." Yes they do feel good and I will take this opportunity to send the biggest HHHHHHHUUUUUUGGGGG and bundles of LLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE to you and everyone on the list. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured and far away" - Henry David Thoreau. Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-07/4957 From: J J Dewey Subject: The Two Flows Maybe we can get to the five situations now. I appreciate those of you who commented. You presented different points of view worthy of consideration. I won't name names on this because I'm bound to leave some good ones out, but I will try to cover some ground that has not been posted yet. The first question to ask is what is the common thread that runs through the four situations? Answer: All these situations bring high resistance because change for the better is on the horizon. Those who are stuck in the path of least resistance only are afraid of positive change and resist it, especially if it directly effects them. The key to solving these situations is to make the change as harmless as possible to those who have power to create problems. (1) You are a member of Congress and are in charge of creating a program that would alter our revenue system and would eliminate the IRS. The people in the IRS are alarmed at the idea and are making subtle threats to audit the dickens out of anyone having a hand in this. How do you lower their existence, but still get the job done? The greatest problem here is the individual employees and hierarchy of the IRS who would be afraid of losing their jobs and position. This reaction is no different than any other group of people trying to make a living. Therefore, even though it may cause some temporary expense, the employees should be guaranteed a safe transition into new careers with similar positions and pay. If their change is minimal their resistance will be minimal. (2) You discover your boss is stealing from the company. What do you do to avoid you boss getting back at you? Several of you gave good answers on this such as going to the boss's superior and being as anonymous as possible. One thing you wouldn't want to do is threaten him directly, unless you enjoy high resistance. (3) An angel appears to you and tells you to teach the principle of reincarnation to religious people who do not believe in it. How do you lower their resistance so they will listen? Remember, resistance is caused by the threat of change? Accepting reincarnation would be a bigger change than they could accept. Therefore, go first among the group as a teacher of doctrine they already believe in but shed additional light for them and gain their trust. Then after you gain their trust take them step by step into higher knowledge. (4) Your company is having a cash flow problem and the only way to make cuts is in wages. You can let some people go or cut wages. You know that there are about 10% of the employees who are old timers who will have very hurt feelings if you touch their income or let them go. How do you handle this? I would call in these old timers and lay the situation before them and let them have some input as to how to solve the problem. Make then feel special and arrange things so they will not have sudden change income or status. (5) You have a lover who is not working out for you and have decided you must let him/her go even though he/she still loves you. You know that he/she will be extremely upset and resistance. How do you lower resistance here? The best answer here is to avoid the situation to begin with. Be extremely careful as to who you choose for romantic relationships. If you ever have to break it off with someone who wants to continue, you are in for high resistance and there is nothing you can do about it. Just prepare yourself to deal with the worst for not even gentleness and kindness are much good here. Anni wanted a better understanding of the two paths. Perhaps this will help. The path of high resistance is not exactly going against the flow because there are two flows. One we could call the material flow and the other the spiritual. Because most people go with the material flow the one who goes with the spiritual flow goes against the grain of 99% of the people in one way or another. As the ego begins incarnation as a human he goes with the material flow as a leaf is carried in a stream of water. He seems to have free will but from a higher point of view he goes with the material flow and puts up no resistance. He even goes with this flow astrologically and from life to life goes clockwise through the zodiac. As he senses the higher energies and becomes a disciple he goes against the regular flow and in a reverse direction with a new flow. He then progresses counterclockwise through the astrological cycle. When the disciple then goes in the direction of the spiritual energies he will begin to encounter high resistance as he continues motion in the material sphere. He will be like a fish swimming upstream in the material, but downstream in the spiritual. This has made it very difficult for initiates to concretize their plans in the physical. As it often happens, the plans are materialized by those who are on the path of least resistance and are often far from the original vision of the disciple. Consider Jesus, for example. When He was crucified He only had two hundred followers. But then after He and the apostles were removed from the scene those who followed the path of least resistance finally built the church and gave it form and success, but not the vision of the Master. Long before one has fully entered the path of high resistance he senses the higher energies and experiments with them. He gets burned and discouraged a few times, but always tries again and again until the high resistance of the material world no longer has any effect on him for the rewards of the spiritual energies become far more attractive than the material. I don't mean to sound mean or to be critical with anyone on this list because I love you all. The above statement sounded almost as if it was written_ by someone why had not yet read "The Immortal". Or maybe thought of the book as fiction. When I read the first chapter I received through email two years ago, I KNEW that it was not fiction. I asked my inner self (test the spirits) and I checked the bible. John the Beloved is indeed "a higher being" even if he has lived physical life after life on this earth. He sent out the "call" (bell ringing) to JJ and JJ responded. That act requires a Oneness, and when we responded to JJ's invitation, we also found ourselves in a "oneness". Maybe not on as high a level, but a oneness nevertheless. Oneness seems to be a key to many things in our lives. Who's to say, if it resonates it resonates. Sorry for the rant." Well this is a good point. I for one am fed up with channeling, but it is too much of a gut feeling to be inclusive of all truth. Of course there is truth in channeling. I just can't stand the packaging, it gets on my nerves:-) You say there is inspiration in "the immortal" for instance. Okay, but being inspired (as by a gift) while using all your_ earthy abilities is different from actively searching and_ asking for inspiration and more while turning off your personal_ abilities? consciousness? becoming receptive and not active? But of course you may find truths in channeled messages. I just don't stand reading more than the first line today. To be sincere, I sure would re-read Eileen Caddy with pleasure, but it is more balanced than many. Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-07/4965 From: Belle Subject: Re: Cause and Effect HI James, And happy belated birthday! Belle delurking for a bit here to answer James.. Yes, I have consciously manifested many things in my life. And my best friend knows a woman who was determined to win a million dollars on the lottery so she meditated and visualized this happening.. She REALLY focused her attention on being the winner.. And she did it! I also would probably not be on this list today if it had not been for Jane Roberts books channeled from Seth. It happened in the mid 70's when a dear friend gave me a thick book and made me promise to read it. (Perhaps it was "Seth Speaks") At the time I was in a very unusual relationship and not knowing what had happened to get me to that point. I was also moving around a lot and put the book in one of the many boxes I had packed and not marked very well.. We were essentially living out of a few suitcases while looking for a permanent place to live and I was getting really tired of wearing the same clothes over and over.. I was also feeling really guilty about not keeping my promise to read that book.. We found a lovely place to live and got the kitchen stuff organised first. Then I promised myself I would search for the book as I did not remember where I had put it, but first I would open just one box marked "Clothes". So I picked one of several, opened it and guess what was on top of those clothes.....The book, of course. Reading that book was like "Going home" It wasn't that I didn't already know all of the stuff in it, I just needed a BIG reminder.. I went from that book to the next then found more like it... All the while growing and understanding my creations more and more.. Taking more responsibility for creating my realities... (Becoming?) Rick and I have gone round on this one before on the Lemuria list.. And I even asked JJ what he thought about channeled material in a private letter when the list first started.. Now I can't remember what he said, but I do remember thinking he was not taking a very firm stand one way or the other. Or that could have been my perception of what he said and not what he was trying to say at all.. I've changed computers since then and don't have the old message. Some channeled material gives me the creeps.. I just don't read or listen to it.. I just keep checking with myself. I've known our lovely Rick for quite a while now through the Lemuria list and now here.. He has strong views on some subjects for sure.. But I always get the feeling that the realities he has created for himself in this lifetime have been very different than mine have and some of them have been possibly very dark and of course shaped his views.. Possible, Rick? Anyway, I'm with you... I enjoyed the post ... Again, nothing new... Just nicely put. More good reminders. Hi Folks, The reason I'm responding to this post has very little to do with the issues that you've had with each other. It has a lot to do with relationships, though. Even these odd donkeyed (I'd have said "weird-assed", but I'm trying to make a serious point here) :) .......these odd donkeyed relationships we have now in cyberspace. It's like being on an extended blind date. But to this part of Jennifer's post, I want to say whoa. Don't go swinging the pendulum over so far to the other side. To say I'll never do it again almost guarantees that one will do it again. (IM never been all that HO) The foundation for this belief is found all over the place in various "scriptures". But I just want to say this simply. The way to freedom is by way of freedom. Understand that if something comes welling up in your gut and you want to say it, you must see yourself as absolutely free to say it before you can be free not to say it. Freedom is a principle that knows no family. It's a unified principle. You can't be free in one area and not free in another. It's been said, "swear by nothing, either in heaven or on earth. Just let your yes be yes, and your no be no". So if you feel like bursting out, BURST OUT! If you're too concerned about hurting someone, write it freely, and know that you don't have to post it, but you can work through (not push down) the feelings that are truly there. Then you'll still be free to post it, but most likely after rereading your own feelings, you'll be free not to as well. Besides, there are a few of us "crazys" on this list who don't mind one little bit when we're nailed to the wall. I won't mention any names (XAVIER) cause I wouldn't want to leave anyone out. But rest assured that if anyone needs to vent something, you are FREE to do that. You're free to post it to the list. You're free to send it to one person. You're free to write it to yourself or to God, and never send it because you've worked through your difficulty. You're free to keep the difficulty. Whatever it is, you've got to know that you are FREE. And if you know that you are free, you're going to find that most all of your past "difficulties" have melted away. It may be a process, but it works every time and it's been done this way for a very long time. When you really know your freedom, the two paths that JJ refers to open up before you and you know that you are free to choose the right OR the left. And after walking through (never avoiding) so many "firestorms" of emotions here, you'll know the greater path to freedom, and of which the lesser, and you'll choose wisely. And above all, let's have FUN with this. God is good! The path is laid straight to the one who believes. And conflict ends at the point called Love. Good Morning to All, John Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-07/4969 From: Marylin Subject: Re: Re : Re: The Lever Principle Rick Audette writes: "And then there is the question of miracles and magic." Hi ya Uncle Rick Speaking of miracles and magic........it isn't all done with lights and_ mirrors. When you think about it, the bible, itself, is a book of "magic"._ Our Baptist pastor, years ago, told us that it is a supernatural book. I still don't know just how fully he really understood the profoundness of his statement, but he was quite right. I think the words, miracles and magic, are just the words we use to describe an event that we can't explain in any other way. They are convenient descriptions. But they also exist. Rambling Mode: We dream. Of things that are not yet or will be. Things that we sometimes have to think about for years. Things that may have been true in a previous life or maybe even a glimpse of the future. All kinds of words, psychic, etc., attached to different occurances but they still fall into the so called magic or miracle realm. It's the experiencing of these things that is so wonderful. Twice in the past, while on the highway, I/we had car trouble with the radiator overheating. The first time I was alone and, knowing about such miracles, I chose to produce one by repeating over and over all the way home, "Thank you Jesus, Thank you Jesus." I made it home and then my husband (it was on a Sunday, everything was closed) drove it 25 miles to the nearest truck stop to get it repaired. Amazingly, there was no damage done to the engine. The second time, we were leaving Arizona, going to Iowa, pulling a 12 foot Uhaul. It was hot in AZ. temp pushing 100 deg. when we left climbing the mountain toward Flagstaff. We chose to stop at an off ramp half way up and call for a tow truck. They replaced the thermostat and we were on our way again on I40. We stopped for the night just over the NM line and in the morning had to pull over again in Albuquerque because of overheating. There we found out that the thermostat had been put in upside down. That was corrected and again we went on our way. We made it almost to the Texas panhandle when a hose, attached to the overflow jar, literally blew off the car and back behind us. A Mexican family on vacation with a big car stopped to help and then offered to pull us to the last gas station at the border. I have always wondered if their car was alright after pulling over 2 tons of weight. At the station we were advised to remove the thermostat, which we did. Then all went well again until we were about 50 miles south of Des Moines, IA on I35. A rear tire blew. We had "fun" changing that "bugger". So where is the magic and miracle in this long "tale of woe"? From the very first time we stopped on the off ramp in AZ, I began saying over and over, again, "Thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus." I repeated my thanks all the way home and if the words "Thank you Jesus" were to suddenly become visible, you would be able to follow the path we took on that trip. Once again, no damage occurred to the engine. This may sound like a fiction story, but it happened. And there are even more "magic and miracles" greater than these that we all experience but don't recognize. We all have abilities that seem like childish daydreams. But are they? I have indeed found more pleasure in my "search for truth" than in owning my own home and buying a brand new car. Even clothes do nothing for me. Love, Light, Peace and Harmony Marylin Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-07/4974 From: Susi Subject: RE: Many thoughts/Many subjects Hi All, Quite a lot of information is (being) passed around these days on the list. We are (becoming) unconditional in our love for each other.....even while emerged in the light of disagreement. Jennifer.....I understood your meaning of Being versus Becoming perfectly. While others word it differently if the words were taken away and only the thoughts or feelings where telepathically felt the regular postees would see as clearly and not be so stubborn on this issue Knowing that FOR YOU Being is the same as their Becoming. It seems again that the words of form have blinded the formless intuition. Next Words: When I meet someone who looks new to me but I feel the soul level contact I know that I already know this being from another space, another time, but I still say nice to meet you. When technically I should say it is so nice to find you again or to have crossed your path. So words always get in the way and they can be very hurtful at times....trust your intuition, accept our differences, focus on all the words & their true or hidden message and the hurt will be less more often than not (probably did not express myself well with these words but I hope you can feel their meanings in the correct context). Now for those lions and their keepers....befriend them and feed them. If you are their friend they may not throw you to the lions, however they might because although you are their friend odds are your opinion on life is very different than theirs and they still may view you as a threat to their control or power so in you go to the lions.....now if you have also made friends with the lions and fed them maybe they wont eat you....LOL ;-) Just my opinion, but I thought that the lion will live next to the lamb in harmony, somewhere it says something like that I think. Someone on the list talked of circles....I can't remember which post, but that is how I have always looked at the paths. Then I find posts talking about the reverse flow of the higher path versus the lower or plr (this confuses me, but I feel it is only the words getting in the way again and the meaning or outcome is still the same). I have always felt that the various paths (I feel there are definitely more than the two we have been talking about) are likened to rings/circles. We expand outwards, yet we remember the other p's of lr as they are each contained within every subsequent phr. We sometimes must utilize some of the p's of lr to do the work of the p's of hr we are currently on to reach the next phr. The more we expand the more our collective consciousness pulls those on the p's of lr into the p's of hr. I say we utilize the p's of lr to achieve some of the p's of hr goals because this is what the majority of humanity on earth understands and we meet less resistance and are viewed as someone who thinks a bit differently by slowly presenting points of the p's of hr and not labeling ourselves or Becoming labeled as rebels. Next topic.....Manifesting ;-) Rick or was it John....I guess it doesn't really matter but someone brought it up. Manifesting does work, but one must take actions to bring their manifestations to fruition! Visualize what you like and go about creating it. Occasionally one does get lucky and not have to put any effort into their manifestations, but that is very rare. This usually only happens with small lost items, such as tweezers or tape or safety pins etc (walk away from where you thought they should be and weren't say it has to be there and know that it is and look again). The larger manifestations like a planet that is full of life and happiness and harmlessness, full of creations that appreciate the simple beauty of form, knowing that in time we will all go back to formlessness and have another different experience so everything here on earth appreciates this experience of here and now. This is the type of manifestation that definitely requires active involvement. Creating ones space or surroundings exactly as you see it in your imaginations also requires active involvement. Creating this list required active involvement, but it is now gathering people effortlessly through our collective consciousness, manifesting a wholeness/oneness.....your telepathic thoughts attracted me ....LOL some of you might wish differently, but now your stuck with me for awhile LOL. Last item on manifestation, so many think that if it doesn't happen almost instantly than it doesn't work. Wrong, sometimes depending on the size of the manifestation it can take years or maybe even longer....so please keep believing, keep the faith. IT (What I often refer to as Source or God) is like a parent and if you want something and it is in the best interest of all that exist harming none, IT will give it to you. Caution: There are many things out there that are masquerading as IT, the beast for one, so be careful of what you ask for, whom you ask for it and how you ask for it....please. If and when you receive it please appreciate it and care for it like it is an extension of yourself. Finally, I would like to thank all of you for your insights and humors, your arguments or debates, and your wisdom. Some of what you all write has helped me to grow or find some blind spots while other tidbits have brought me joy in knowing that some on the list are receiving lessons and growing because of them. I think of an infant who first learns to roll then to crawl, then to walk and then to run. All of lives lessons we utilize at times in our lives, we may all know how to run but at times we must roll to get that item out from under the bed. This relates to my theory of the paths. May you all create exactly the type of day you wish for. I have been observing on this and other lists that there has recently been a lot of inadvertent stepping on other peoples toes. Perhaps there is something in the stars that is behind this. What I have also seen, is that, at least on the lists I subscribe to, that everybody is just as quick to say they didn't mean to hurt any feelings and ask forgiveness. I've done it myself. I'm known for my ability to say a lot with few words, but sometimes I tend to cut the corners a little too sharp. I had a feeling that certain statements could have been taken wrong, as I wrote them, but still sent the short version anyway. Okay, I won't tell anybody else how to behave, but for my part I'll try my best to slow down and practice a bit more diplomacy. I have a funny thought about this. It's not even infinity, but simply big numbers that we fail to understand. Take 10^10 , this is 10 000 000 000. Now take 10^10^10 This is a number that has one 1 and 10 000 000 000 zeros. It would be like instead of seeing all the reflections understand the one original form that is being seen in all the mirrors. Instead of seeing numbers realizing how everything wells out of the void, the rich potential multitude_ of zero :) Like splitting the mental atom. Love to all Heather. Author Unknown For all you scientists out there and for all the students who have a hard time convincing these people regarding the truth of the Bible...here's something that shows God's awesome creation and shows that He is still in control. Did you know that the space program is busy proving that what has been called "myth" in the Bible is true? Mr. Harold Hill, President of the Curtis Engine Company in Baltimore, Maryland and a consultant in the space program, relates the following development. I think one of the most amazing things that God has for us today happened recently to our astronauts and space scientists at Green Belt, Maryland. They were checking the position of the sun, moon, and planets out in space where they would be 100 years and 1000 years from now. We have to know this so we won't send a satellite up and have it bump into something later on it's orbits. We have to lay out the orbits in terms of the life of the satellite, and where the planets will be so the whole thing will not bog down. They ran the computer measurement back and forth over the centuries and it came to a halt. The computer stopped and put up a red signal, which meant that there was something wrong either with the information fed into it or with the results as compared to the standards. They called in the service department to check it out and they said "what's wrong?" Well they found that there is a day missing in space in elapsed time. They scratched their heads and tried to figure it out. There was no answer. Finally, a Christian man on the team said, "You know, on time I was in Sunday School and they talked about the sun standing still." While they didn't believe him, they didn't have the answer either, so they said "show us." He got a Bible and went back to the book of Joshua where they found a pretty ridiculous statement for any one with "common sense". There they found the Lord saying to Joshua, "Fear them not, I have delivered them into thy hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee." Joshua was concerned because he was surrounded by the enemy and if darkness fell they would overpower them. So Joshua asked the Lord to make the sun stand still! And that's what happened - "The sun stood still and the moon stayed - and hasted not to go down about a whole day!" The astronauts and scientists had found the missing day. They checked the computers going back into the time it was written and found it was close but not close enough. The elapsed time that was missing back in Joshua's day was 23 hours and 20 minutes - not a whole day. They read the Bible and there it was, "about (approximately) a day." These little words in the Bible are important, but they were still in trouble because if you cannot account for 40 minutes you'll still be in trouble 1000 years from now. Forty minutes had to be found because it can be multiplied many times over in orbits. As the Christian employee thought about it, he remembered some where in the Bible where it said the sun went BACKWARDS. The scientists told him he was out of his mind, but they got out the Book and read these words in 2 Kings: Hezekiah, on his death bed, was visited by the prophet Isaiah who told him that he was not going to die. Hezekiah asked for a sign as proof. Isaiah said "Do you want the sun to go ahead 10 degrees?" Hezekiah said "It is nothing for the sun to go ahead 10 degrees, but let the shadow return backward 10 degrees." Isaiah spoke to the Lord and the Lord brought the shadow ten degrees BACKWARD! Ten degrees is exactly 40 minutes! Twenty three hours and 20 minutes in Joshua, plus 40 minutes in second Kings make the missing day in the universe! Isn't it amazing? God is Truth! It seems to be akin to some of the things we have been hashing over lately. I sure would like to hear the rest of you think. Love, Light, Peace and Harmony Marylin Fractions change everything. One teensy part of selfishness buries itself in an act of goodness, contaminates the deed. It boomerangs against us. It takes intelligence to see the little things that matter. And humility to allow intelligence to do its job. I mean to be helpful. I mention something that is wrong. A tiny part of me thinks you should have known better. It leaks into my words as sarcasm. Just a fraction. A teeny, tiny fraction. My help is perceived as an attack. It is. The desire to make the world a better place turns on us. Our idealism can make us blind to the little things that change everything. We see the big picture, forgetting that little things mean a lot. Well I'd like to reach the qualities that I believe to be the ones of a happy and sound human being:-) Naming: free circulation of emotions and feelings, freedom of thought and action, creative life, happy friendly social life, doing something that brings_ light and evolution to the whole. Love and be loved. In a meaningful activity. (but these are not qualities, but achievements:-) I do sense a blockage in me on that topic:-) A blind spot. Actually it is the upper arrow, when you write it you put the second number (that is expansed to the first) a little above and at the right of the first one. It reads A^B =3D A multiplied B times by itself square is ^ 2 so 10^10 is 10 multiplied ten times by itself, so 10*10*10*10* etc..., so it gives 10 000 000 000. :-) well these are only quantities as Samu noted, but the interesting point to me is that even in conceiving_ quantities we are very limited. Ever considered what a billion is? Yes, it is 1 000 000 000. Easy to write, but do we really conceive what it is? What volume would be filled by one billion matches? (if anyone wants to verify, you're welcome) I once did the math of it: you can fill an apartment of 100 square meters and 2,5 meters height. Hmm in feet: 1076 square feet by 8 feet height. Now did you ever conceive a billion was as much as this? Yet we use it all the time, but we don't conceive the quantity. (seems we are much more made to grasp qualities) This is all because I mused at the quantity-oriented mind that we are taught in school and social consciousness. This is all bullshit, we are not made for that,,, we don't even calculate properly. But we are antennas that are sensible to very fine qualities, yes. Someway, to turn one's mind too much on concrete thought is maiming your abilities, that's what I lived in adolescence. There has to be balance, and we need emotions, joy, pleasure, discovery, entrepreneurship, freedom, and motive, in order to look at the square datas, otherwize it blanks your being into submission. All seekers desire to become an accepted disciple of the Masters within the Brotherhood of Light. One of the qualities the disciple must have is a readiness to face high resistance. Name what you believe to be three qualities or characteristics that are looked for by the higher lives in an accepted disciple." Ok here goes my little shot at this one since I declined to post all my other answers to the last few questions. Being non-judgmental towards others (more towards all things that exists even what we are unaware of). Yes I do get several fleeting moments occasionally of wanting to judge, but these are very fleeting less than a few minutes if that and then I look at myself and say it is ok if I feel something is not quite right with a situation it is not my position to judge it. If I disagree with it then I do not have to participate. If I feel that I will not cause too much resistance to my path and the situation is open enough to hear my views then I willingly will offer my two cents worth, however if I feel it is futile to voice or attempt to teach my understandings or views I will move on to where my services will be put to better use. When someone is judging me and finding fault I look at myself to see why and evaluate to see if there is something that I might be doing to offend or if it is something I am not doing which offends and take action to correct myself if I have stumbled. When the perceived judgment towards me does not fit I discard it and pray for peace at the same time moving forward.......I only slow down enough for my loved ones to catch up and I always know that Source/God loves me (and everything else no mater how good or bad) Just my opinion - (I am humble, but I don't feel I need to label myself) Compassion towards all that exists or ever will.......yes even the bad and ugly! (somebody has to help Source/God love them) There is a children's wall chart that I don't own, but have read and it says many wonderful things, one of them and this is my version since I'm going on memory: Give a child kindness, love, understanding and compassion and they will grow to be kind, compassionate, understanding and loving towards others. I feel this little saying can be applied to many things in form and formlessness, even to those things which may wish to harm me because they can not. God/Source protects and defends me and even if I were to change form or loose this body I fear not for I know that God loves me and I will be ok. Ok speaking of confessions - (this is not part of the answer) When I had my second child c- section I became very ill after wards and was discharged from the hospital when I probably should not have been. One night when I came very close to dying with my temperature first soaring and then plummeting to less than acceptable and my doctor out of town I laid there and passed out then I felt as thought my head had been placed in the wall somehow and it was choking me and there were some of those not so pretty not so nice beings there trying to take me.....I stooped fighting and asked God if I have to go can I please be an Angel so that I can watch over my children and help them to grow and help my husband as well. I was not thinking of any others at that moment. I had become semi conscious by this time but was still unable to move my body, my etheric body was not in my physical form. Instantly I was back in my body and sat bolt upright.....I rubbed my eyes, I pinched myself, I tried to wake my husband whom I had been keeping up worried all night (didn't work though) and I stared in wonder and comfort and complete safety (this feeling has no words to express but I just tried and did it no justice). What I saw was either Jesus or God in almost complete form in front of me but about 6 feet away and this wondrous light body spoke to me and said it was ok, "everything is going to be alright you will get to be an angel" This being was with me for a good 10 minutes and I will never forget it and I do not share it with many people, but I've been told that you all are ok and need to know or hear it so I've exposed myself to judgment but I'm very secure with that and no comments are really needed towards what I just wrote, only if you feel it absolutely necessary, but I did need to share to stay on the PHR ;-) something was written about such and experience a few posts back and I had to tell you about this so that you would know it was true....just look into your souls. Ok now for three which I guess boils down to being fearless or becoming fearless which ever you please. Not having a fear of the unknown or change or to walk a different path than others around you, not being afraid to voice your own opinion or having a fear of judgment (very hard one to practice). Not having a fear of death or of heaven or hell....just open your heart and trust, it can't hurt you if you have no fear. Your physical body can become damaged or even die, but your soul can not and it will go with you where ever you go, what ever you do if you only just trust and Love......have no fear. Example: I have had one fear I can think of out of everything which I just overcame 2 weeks ago. This is the fear of being placed in confinement with only four walls and maybe a window to look at. This confinement could be a mental hospital or a prison because of my PHR and meeting resistance in the form of incarceration of some sort. I love nature so much that I always thought this would surely kill me and I have so much work to do here on earth I would feel bad if I were locked up and unable to do what I promised to do. How I overcame this was to go into the etheric and imagine this fear (deal with it head on eyes wide open and solve or release my fear) I became friends with my keepers and convinced them that I really am harmless and asked for paints. I managed to get them from various sources and proceeded to paint all the walls. Then I sat and meditated and went into a trance semi-conscious state and walked out through the walls into the forests and gardens I had created on the walls......complete with animals and other beings. My physical body stayed behind in the middle of the floor crossed legged. My keepers thought me even stranger since I would sit like this for hours but what prompted them to let me go was that in my etheric travels away from my physical I assume since they were for such extended periods of time my physical body began to levitate and I assume they thought I was no longer crazy or a threat just different so they let me go. I do not think this will ever happen to me in the physical world, but this did take place in the etheric and I no longer have this fear here in the real world (physical) because if it does I can apply these techniques and even if they don't let me go I will be OK ;-) Much love to all of you and thank you for letting me share. I could probably name off tons of qualities. So I will name off what I believe to be the most important. 1. Soul Contact. The disciple who is capable of Soul Contact will not be easily deceived into doing work for the Dark Side. He/She will also be unlikely to give his/her authority up to anyone else. It will also be much easier for him/her to understand principles he/she is taught. 2. Willingness to Accept the Truth when it is presented. If the disciple is not willing to accept certain truths, then he/she is not a true seeker of the truth in all it's forms. He/She will still be attached to certain illusions. 3. Willingness to Serve. A disciple has to be committed to doing what's best for the whole, rather than self. He/she will be willing to dedicate his/her life to the service of the whole. There are many more qualities, but I believe these are 3 of the most important... - Dave Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-08/5009 From: "Robin Bryant" Subject: Re: Qualities of the Disciple Hi all, "Name what you believe to be three qualities or characteristics that are looked for by the higher lives in an accepted disciple." I found it challenging to stick to just three qualities but eventually the cream rose to the top!! 1. Discernment This quality applies in many areas, but most important is the ability to discern and make a decision of action for the highest good when any situation arises. This would involve having faith that one's decision will be correct, and enacting discipline to remove all emotional blind spots as soon as they manifest. 2. Patience/Endurance/Courage Patience with oneself when encountering necessary changes ties in with having the endurance and courage to continue to plod along in a positive and happy manner while waiting for the change to play out like the ripples in a pond. 3. Humility/Lack of Judgment/Knowingness The ability to remain humble when faced with either success or disappointment, knowing that either result is unimportant if the total effect is for the greater good. With these three qualities anything is possible and one can walk the path to high resistance with ease and embrace discipleship with open arms. These attributes can be of aid to: 1. Non Conformity. A willingness to see and reveal the truth and not follow popular beliefs if they don't feel true, just because everyone else is. 2. Openness. Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-08/5016 From: Rick Audette Subject: Re: Qualities of the Disciple I've seen many noble traits mentioned, so far, and they do seem important, but many of these can be maintained while living in an ivory tower. The main definition, given in my dictionary is that of one that accepts and spreads a teaching. This would be an activity and to be done well would require certain intense qualities. It was a busy day for me, so I couldn't respond till late and kept mulling these qualities over in my mind. So, here are what seem to be the most important traits, with their auxiliary characteristics, as I see them. 1) A BURNING DESIRE to serve the One and the All. This desire nurtures initiative, always striving to do your best, always looking for better ways to do things, a positive loving attitude, and persistence in overcoming great odds. 2) A good measure of SOUL CONTACT. You can't expect to be able to spread the Truth if you don't recognize the Truth when you see it. Also, patience, kindliness, charity, sincerity, courage, tolerance, discrimination, love and all the noble traits are enhanced through soul contact. 3) GOOD KARMA or a reasonably balanced account is very important, because you can't help to increase the system if you tend to need more help than you give. The disciple gives more energy than he takes by performing excess service, acquiring and using practical skills to earn his keep and shares a portion of his time and money to support his worthy cause. I'm sure I could say a lot more, but I think this gives a good idea of what I think is important for becoming a disciple of the Higher Ones. The responses have been great and have covered so much that I will just say something very simple: 1.The unwavering desire to always strive for the highest good perceived for all, willingness to face the possible 'outer difference' it may bring with it, sort of like going against the flow of majority (I think JJ liked that:) when_ it's seen that what most are doing don't take things to a higher level, no betterment, no evolution. Doing the best one can to bring out what's is_ felt and known to be True and Real. 2.Despite 'looking different' in the eyes of many because of the choices made that may bring much resistance but also greatest growth, being aware and reminding others that within we all carry the same divine potential, we all have the right to walk our unique path and shouldn't be judged by others. While there are infinite different landscapes, the direction may still be the same when we navigate using the compass of the voice within. 3.Realizing that one is made of many, and seeing the unity that connects all, understanding the cycle of life, firm dedication to build and expand, serve and make decisions for love of all. Being aware of duality,_ understanding basic principles and carrying them out in real life. Always trying to see the biggest picture perceivable, making the decision for oneself to grow in order for the whole to become more advanced. Rick brings up an interesting point. We are all motivated by benefits to self in one way or another. One of the main differences between the light and dark brotherhoods is that the Dark Brothers are deceived as to what is in the best interest of self in the long run. They believe that by ignoring the whole and concentrating on self only that the self will have maximum benefit. On the other hand, the Brotherhood of Light believe that the greatest benefit to self comes from losing sight of self for the good of the whole. Contrary to popular belief even Jesus was motivated by self as illustrated in the scriptures: "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith: who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross..." Hebrews 12:2 Thus even the Master was motivated by joy, a great benefit to self. I am enjoying your lists of qualities and characteristics of possible disciples. You have named some, but have missed several of the most important. Hint: How about talent and ability? What do you suppose is looked for there? The closest someone came to the second characteristic is open mindedness. One also has to have a good handle on maya and glamour as John pointed out. Without this characteristic the disciple will be reluctant to backtrack when he has made a mistake or takes a wrong turn. Then there is a third one I do not believe was mentioned. It is a trait that belongs to one who is amplifying his power of decision and is able to work without a lot of supervision. Take a stab at these discovering these three and I will elaborate more fully soon. JJ Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-10/5032 From: Glenys Lowery Subject: Re: Three Missing Qualities J J Dewey wrote: "I am enjoying your lists of qualities and characteristics of possible disciples. You have named some, but have missed several of the most important." It's good to get another chance to consider these as, like everyone who responded, I had many more than three on my list. "Hint: How about talent and ability? What do you suppose is looked for there?" My initial thought was that the particular talents required would be dependent on the task to be achieved but I suppose there is a minimum requirement before one can be accepted for discipleship. Perhaps the ability to set goals and achieve them, to accept responsibility and carry out one's obligations is essential. I think every quality we've identified has an implicit in it a certain level of intelligence but this would almost certainly manifest in an ability to communicate well; one wouldn't be much use to the Brotherhood if one couldn't communicate at a reasonably advanced level. Leadership skills and the ability to motivate others might also be important here. Hand in hand with that would be organizational and perhaps, management skills if chaos is to be avoided as more and more people turn to the Light. "Then there is a third one I do not believe was mentioned. It is a trait that belongs to one who is amplifying his power of decision and is able to work without a lot of supervision." Self-knowledge was fourth on my list. And this cannot be achieved without an ability to also see others (and situations) as they truly are as well. So a disciple has to have a firm grasp on reality. It is only by doing this that a person can make a decision to become that which he or she is becoming and achieve a certain independence of thought and action in doing so. One has to be a free thinker to be useful. Like JJ, I'm rushing as well, so ...catch you all later :-) Love Glenys -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Every perfection in this life has some imperfection attached to it, and there is no knowledge in this world that is not mixed with some blindness or ignorance._ ~ Thomas a` Kempis Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-10/5033 From: Marylin Subject: Re: Fractions DO change everything 99/100 Rick Audette writes: "Marylin writes: "Okay, Professor Rick, how does one combine love and selfishness at the same time? This is a powerful message. It seems that I have misunderstood the word selfishness for years, believing that it was always bad as I had been taught since I was very little. As I sit here thinking, I realize that selfishness occupies both ends of the pendulum and it is a personal choice which end one wishes to be on. Or maybe it is better to find the balance point with this. Finding the balance point has always been the hardest for me. However, it seems I need to understand the right hand end as well as the left hand end before I can find the balance. Okay.......that is what I choose to do. Thank you for your help again, John. This is so true. In the expansion of myself through giving the gifts of my FAther to others, I am increasing my joy, my love, my life into eternity, simply because I too receive all that I give, and am therefore expanded into forever. I receive in the giving, so to does all of life., even unto God, for he has given to us, expanding us and 'himself, life all of creation'. Such a magnificent picture. "Then there is a third one I do not believe was mentioned. It is a trait that belongs to one who is amplifying his power of decision and is able to work without a lot of supervision." "Take a stab at these discovering these three and I will elaborate more fully soon." Necessary qualities desired by higher lives need to include the following: CONSISTENCY IN REASONING ABILITY: The demonstration of a mind capable of seeing all aspects of any situation and reasoning the highest good outcome in a given situation, not swayed by maya glamour or illusion. The disciple demonstrates consistency of application in a variety of situations, increasing one's own strength, patience and perseverance. This would demonstrate high intelligence confirmed by soul contact. INTEGRITY OF SOUL CONTACT: Again the disciple demonstrating consistency of soul contact and thus operating in true integrity of one's self, through giving/service by the disciple's own choice to carry out the understood and 'known' direction for accomplishment. An important skill is in understanding the soul's directions and communicating effectively to bring about fruition. COMPLETION: The proven ability of the disciple to complete a given task. Choosing to die, to quit or give up, is not an option from a higher life perspective. The creative ability to find avenues of success to complete a given goal is the magnificent challenge offered to us in life. The will to complete irrespective of time and circumstances required to do so, is paramount. The ultimate patience. It is the individual's attitude to life, and when the foundation is joy, life becomes a magnificent adventure. I'm interested to read this in english this time now that you have my attention. On another subject, who wrote purity? Beautiful ! Yes purity of intent and heart is one quality I would vote for as well ;-) "Hint: How about talent and ability? What do you suppose is looked for there?" Since we all have our own unique talents and abilities I think it is important to know oneself enough if not completely to recognize what it is each of us has to offer and utilize these talents to the best of our ability for the good of all that exists or ever will. I don't think it matters the quantity that one contributes with each of our limited talents, just that we use them to the best of our ability as opposed to recognizing our talents and letting them go to waste.....(generally out of fear or lack of monetary reward) Also......Looked in the dictionary under talent.....just felt you had a hidden message in you question too J.J. and you know what I found. It referred to Mt 25:14-30.........It would take a lot of typing to put all of that here so to sum it up I will say that if we burry or hide our talents that have been gifted to us or given to us to look after then we would not be accepted as one who is willing to do the work of a disciple or light worker ......OH ;-) but if we tarry not and use our talents wisely and increase them and gather more talents than we will be rewarded with many and be that much closer to acceptance into the light as a disciple. One thing it does not say is that we must share them.....or maybe it does and I just am unaware of it at this time......but for me my soul tells me I must share so others can gain if they so choose. (Body language you can not see is smiling and projecting joy in my writing to you all) Oh yes and Rick I do share out of selfishness as well and have loved all you have written on the subject. I know that if I use my talents and share I will gain but what I seek to gain is Source smiling on me. "Then there is a third one I do not believe was mentioned. It is a trait that belongs to one who is amplifying his power of decision and is able to work without a lot of supervision." The Explorer: Ok the ability, desire and motivation to seek out answers where there seem to be none. Not resting until your soul tells you that you have found the truth. To explore and expand on our pure intentions. To see the path before us and follow it with out a guide. Example: There are times when I have felt that Source is busy and I have been left out in the pasture for extended periods but I do not sit on my arse and await further instructions, I take the initiative and follow my souls desire and tile the land or explore trying to find the hidden treasures along with enjoying the beauty around me then I share this. When Source does return IT will not find me pouting or lost because of IT's absence instead IT will find I have remembered IT's past guidance and applied it to the best of my knowledge, expanded on it with the best of my wisdom. I did not sit in fear of doing wrong for I knew that if I did make a mistake I would be forgiven and I would learn. Even if I am wrong and I have to go back and correct my mistakes at least I have tried to the best of my ability (nothing ventured, nothing gained) Enough of my ramblings.....I hope all have exactly the type of day they desire most ;-) Many Blessings;-) Susi Alexander The Healing Hearth "http://www.healinghearth.com Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-10/5046 From: "xavier" Subject: Re: Re: Three Missing Qualities Samu Karlsson writes:_ "So I would have to say fearlessness (I am not even sure if that's a real english word, sorry:) is very important._ I guess it's not really a talent or >ability but it sure is something that ca immobilize one to the point that no matter how skilled s/he is, those qualities are not applied in real life. Jesus was a perfect example of creative expression through teaching and expressing divine love to all. He created the most amazing parables, stories that people would love to hear. A disciple would have to be self disciplined, to know and to desire to stay on the right path without wavering. To be aware at all times and correct self when wavering. To be patient with one's self and others, to live with a peaceful, loving attitude to all. What is important above all else and with these three qualities is To be a living example to others, to practise what you teach.....as a consequence inspiring others to follow God's way and accept God's gift of perfect divine love. "Take a stab at these discovering these three and I will elaborate more fully soon." Just did :o] Love to everyone, Jay Perfect love is beyond fear and doubt. Love needs expression how will you express yourself today? Post No. keys-l: /1999-06-10/5052 From: Brian Weis Subject: Re: Three Missing Qualities (xmitted from Zor...) Hey, guess what!? My mother-in-law was visiting my wife's daughter in San Diego about two weeks ago and had a fall and broker her hip. My wife then had to drop everything and fly down there and look after her until she is strong enough to travel. Since Artie (her real name) and I operate our business together her absence is causing me to work harder than ever and leave some things undone. In other words, I have less free time than ever for a while. Let me tell you... I will really be glad to have her back for more reasons than one. Before she returns I am going to have to do a quick clean of the house though or I'm going to get in trouble. In a way this accident is a blessing in disguise. Artie's mom has always been very independent and been the one to be the sender and give the orders, but now the situation is reversed and she is in a situation where she is very dependent on my wife. Artie tells me that she feels an appreciation from her mother that she has never experienced before and that this seems to be a healing experience. Tomorrow night I believe I will have the time to cover the qualities of the disciple but let me ask one more question first. Xavier mentione
