Putting down the beliefs, habits and personalities, of others, is self-righteous and inexcusable. Instead of judging others by their errors, the tolerant man asks himself how he would behave if he were in the same situation. The tolerant man is slow to speak and act so as to increase his opportunities to spread peace and happiness in the lives of those he meets. Post No. keys-l: /1999-04-19/3870 From: Samu Karlsson Subject: Half-OT: Kevorkian Hey Folks, and a great new week to All! :) Not too long ago we were talking about Jack Kevorkian. Ana Voog is probably best known for being one of the original cam girls on the net, getting thousands of hits daily on her site anacam.com that she started over 3 years ago, but she keeps herself busy with many other things as well, being a recording artist for example. She likes to ask a lot of questions just like we all here, and sometimes she types those questions out loud :) on her cam page. Recently she was asking what the visitors thought about Kevorkian, and asked that people would write their replies to the bulletin board on her site. One of the letters was from a man whose mother was assisted by Kevorkian, and Ana placed his letter on her analog page at: http://www.anacam.com/analogs/analogn.html Just thought I'd share this with you, as it is a subject that creates many thoughts. And btw, if you read the page further you'll notice that Ana too has been thinking about a lot of the same things we have, time/space, manifesting, choices :) Sometimes she puts the address of a site she's enjoyed up on her page, and because of all the traffic to her site, this other site too is bound to get a lot of curious extra visitors. Now if we'd only be able to get www.freeread.com displayed in such place, the awareness of available knowledge would increase drastically :) You can reach more people faster over the internet than any other form of media, that is something we know to be truth :) SpiritWeb seems to be working normally again, yes!!! I had trouble accessing *all* my mail over the weekend, but that seems to be past now too. It's weird how handicapped you feel when you're temporarily expelled from email-land, makes you think about how great and privileged we are to be in touch with each other, people all over the globe, sharing ideas and feelings and bringing forth new time :) That feeling of unity inspires me and makes me wanna sing! Yeah! Anybody join me to do the harmony parts in the chorus? :D Love is the answer, and you know that for sure Love is a flower, you gotta let it, gotta let it grow Samu :) Post No. keys-l: /1999-04-19/3871 From: J J Dewey Subject: Signs of the Return Questions under consideration: Does the Christ have to appear as an individual in a body of his own to fulfill the prophecy or could he appear in another way? Answer: I want to stress again that the Christ consciousness and the entity who occupies the position of the Christ are two different things. The teachings circulated about the Christ Consciousness are the first step in the Second Coming. The Christ Consciousness itself will increase on the earth for thousands of years and will be far from perfection in ordinary humanity any time soon. Stages two and three involve the direct participation of the great entity who occupies the position of the Christ for this planet. Stage One deals with the general lifting up of general consciousness, but stages two and three will be more specific events. As we previously mentioned stage two deals with an overshadowing of certain disciples. This may involve a direct overshadowing of Christ himself or also involve the participation of several masters in His inner circle. There are several degrees of overshadowing. The first is where the Master touches the soul of the disciple and takes his aura within the circle of his direct influence. In this case the Master can loosely work with several disciples at a time influencing and communicating with them to accomplish some great work. The overshadowed disciple realizes something is going on and believes that God or some great being is working through him. This type of overshadowing affected numerous great leaders in our past such as Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Jesus also went through this first stage before his baptism. The next stage of overshadowing is where the Master actually enters into the body of the disciple and lives there with him for a time as two entities in one body. This is sometimes called a divine possession and this is what happened to Jesus at the baptism. The Spirit of God (the Christ Entity) descended as a dove and went into the body of Jesus. He then stayed with Jesus for three years. The Christ then left the body when Jesus was on the cross (as one of you commented). This was when Jesus became concerned that he was forsaken by God. This is also why He made the comment: "it is finished." He knew the mission of the Christ was finished as far as sharing a body was concerned. The Christ can only have this second type of overshadowing with one disciple at a time because He as an entity must fully enter into time and space. The third stage of the second Coming will happen then in one of two ways. The Christ will either fully overshadow a disciple and work through him as he did with Jesus 2000 years ago, or if the people of earth advance enough in spiritual preparedness He will come in a body of his own that He does not have to share with a disciple. This would be preferable because He will not be limited by the free will of the disciple who owns the body and would thus be able to perform a much more powerful work than did even Jesus. If circumstances advance so He can come in a body of His own then that will be a glorious day for the planet, but one shrouded in mystery for it is not yet revealed how or even if that will transpire. He could be born as a babe, manifest out of the blue in a fully materialized adult body or travel here from a foreign country (in a jet plane through the clouds) in a body that He is currently using. Exactly how He is going to pull this off is His decision alone and because of world expectation, this Second Coming puts a pressure upon Him that only an entity of His evolution could handle. In the last coming He had enough problems dealing with a primitive people, but in this one He must work with a global society where the whole world will be able to examine Him on TV from their living rooms. The differences between then and now are overwhelming. The scripture reads: "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen." The group gave some very insightful interpretations of this. Zia pointed out that a future event seen by an ancient prophet would have to be described in the words of the time. Hence there are a lot of ways He could come in the clouds besides physically floating through them. In this age, as I said, he could fly through the clouds in a plane and as He lands in an airport the image of Him could be visible to every eye who wants to look at a TV. Clouds could represent higher consciousness that would be seen by every eye to some degree. Whatever the case when all is said and done we will find the prophesies are accurate, but events will not happen as the masses expect, just like last time. So what does it mean that "all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him." This is actually a reference to the Sign of the Son of man which is the major sign that His coming is near. New readers are advised to read in the archives about this or it may not make a lot of sense to you. The Sign of the Son of Man was the explosion of the atomic bomb in 1945 which did indeed make all kindreds of the earth grieve and become gravely concerned about the future of the planet.. From 1945 to the present Stage One of the Second Coming has also been put into effect and much progress has been made. Question: "How could those who "pierced him" be here to see Him when he comes?" Most of you were right on with this one for it is one of the most powerful scriptures in support of reincarnation. Isn't it a fitting masterpiece of the justice of God to have the very individuals who put the Lord of Light to death, for whom He prayed for forgiveness, to have these same individuals delivered to the same Christ, and greet him with a painful awareness of their sins? For some of these people (if they accept him) the Master will have great joy, like that of the Shepherd who found his lost sheep. Others will continue to follow the dark path. Here are several other signs of the Master's Coming. "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Matt 24:4-5 Has this prophecy been fulfilled? "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matt 24:27 What is the fulfillment of this prophecy? Here is another prediction: And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Acts 1:9-11 Fundamentalists see only one way this can be fulfilled and that is to have Jesus come floating down in the air from the clouds. What could be another way this prediction could be fulfilled? Most Bible believers believe that everyone on the earth will see Him at one time when he comes but this scripture gives us a clue in the opposite direction. We are told in this scripture that circumstances around his Second Coming will be similar to His ascension as described here. How many here saw him go into heaven? Will a similar number experience the beginning of his return? For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Matt 24:4-5 Has this prophecy been fulfilled?" In various ways, maybe. David Koresh might be an example of a 'false Christ'. Yet another might be Heavens Gate. "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matt 24:27 What is the fulfillment of this prophecy?" I need to start reading more. I'm drawing a complete blank. I think this may signify the 'awakening' of the human spirit..per se. Maybe the Son of Man will spread his word of truth across the land, and it will shineth even unto the west. I'm sure someone else has a much better explanation. "Here is another prediction: And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. Acts 1:9-11 Fundamentalists see only one way this can be fulfilled and that is to have Jesus come floating down in the air from the clouds. What could be another way this prediction could be fulfilled?" I'm not sure why that is the only way.. I don't remember anything about Christ 'floating' up into Heaven in that manner. If he returns in the same manner that he left, then it would make sense that his return would be about as quiet as his departure. A good way for this to be fulfilled is through overshadowing.. Maybe a reincarnate of Jesus? Or another great prophet? "Most Bible believers believe that everyone on the earth will see Him at one time when he comes but this scripture gives us a clue in the opposite direction. We are told in this scripture that circumstances around his Second Coming will be similar to His ascension as described here. How many here saw him go into heaven? These scriptures of Jesus' prophesized return, and your comments JJ have moved my mind to a profound level of understanding. I recall Nostradamus speaking of a certain event (which I cannot recall off-hand) but that it would be in the time of the return of the seventh angel known as the Ram. Ram has indeed returned as he also promised from 35,000 years ago, and it would not surprise me if he were the seventh angel of Nostradamus' prediction. This causes me to consider the 7 disciples and 8 principles from a different perspective, since the Ram said he was one of the 13 consciousnesses that made up the Christ Consciousness of Jesus. This is simply another perspective as you say: "As we previously mentioned stage two deals with an overshadowing of certain disciples. This may involve a direct overshadowing of Christ himself or also involve the participation of several masters in His inner circle." There are those among us now incarnate that remember Jesus. Of this I am certain. Even to remembering his voice, and of course his energy signature. As a child I used to say to people 'he is still alive, would you know him if he passed you walking down the street?' it usually caused rather unusual reactions in people. There are many groups upon the earth at present that I would say are already overshadowed from the 'Offices of the Christ' to use 'The Keys of Enoch' terminology for want of a better expression. These may be actually somehow the seven and eight referred to above. If this were true, then Christ's coming in actual form may be much closer than we anticipate. I asked myself why the Mayan calendar stopped at 2011. Could it be the Christ's return, and thus the calendar simply no longer valid 'AD'!?! And as so many have asked is this the actual date and many have said it is out by several years, since the object in South America is now giving out its sound. (I forget what the object is, a crystal form of some sort?) Then we also have to ask why so many UFO's now, and people having dreams and visions of UFO's as well as physical sightings etc. It is all a possibility of a return from other dimensions using very advanced technology. Even our technology is racing to meet up with what might be very advanced and already here. I wish to share a personal experience, as believable or unbelievable as John appearing and disappearing in the Immortal, or even JJ being taken to Tel Aviv. In my garden in Australia (where I lived at the time, but no longer) my gardener was putting up a sign with the name of my property on it. We were checking that it was straight together. We got to talking. I was talking about a recent trip to America. In the middle of the conversation, a person bumped into me, bumping hard my right shoulder. I turned in mid conversation, to see a 'person' in a silver suit, with a lavendar V on it, and a silver helmet of sorts on its head. I continued speaking, looking back at my gardener, finishing what I had to say, and then looked back at the 'silver-suited one'. He had disappeared. I went into shock, not because he was there, but because he had disappeared. I went straight into the house. I could not say anything to anyone for three days about it. I was surprised at my 'bodily' reaction since I accepted so many different beings in consciousness. I saw 'him' once more, for that was the feeling of his energy. When packing my goods to move to America, a beautiful Maori woman was helping me. We stopped for lunch. Out on the balcony she said to me 'there is a man in a silver suit in your garden. he has a message for you. he is going with you.' I was surprised that someone else could see 'him'. It is possible that Jesus is already here, if John is his right hand man so to speak, well could he not also be here? And is he not planning his 'appearance' even now? Is he not working with us even now? And is this Christ being now to be different from him? does he still carry the Christ energy or is he now the CHRIST being? A blessing for all!! :-) J J Dewey wrote: "The Christ then left the body when Jesus was on the cross (as one of you commented). This was when Jesus became concerned that he was forsaken by God." I was interested to read the bible scholar, Rocco A Errico gives a different perspective on this. He noted that the KJV of the bible presents Jesus' cry as a question, 'My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?', implying that Jesus did not understand what was happening to him and that he felt forsaken by God (both unlikely scenarios, in my view). Errico says, 'However, this aramaic expression can also be understood as a declaration rather than a question - 'El, el, l'mana shwaqthani: O God! O God! To what {a purpose} You have kept me!' Jesus cried out with a deep knowingness of his reason for having lived and for dying. His cry was a victorious one. God did not abandon him'. Errico goes on to say, 'A terse and literal rendering of this cry would be, 'O Sustainer! O Sustainer! To what {a purpose} you have left me!' The word 'left' in this context does not mean 'forsaken' or 'abandoned'. It means "remaining to fulfill an end or destiny". In the Lamsa Bible translation, this verse is interpreted as "At about the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice and said, Eli, Eli, lemana shabakthani - My God, my God, for this I was spared". Dr Lamsa adds a footnote to the last part of Jesus' exclamation and retranslates it as "for this was my destiny!" ' For me this provides a better and more logical explanation of Jesus' words on the Cross. Why would the Christ desert Jesus on the Cross (just when he needed Him the most) if He knew that Jesus would feel bereft. Not much of a thank you for three years of faithful service and sacrifice. You would think the Christ would stay until the point of death, if only out of compassion and love. After all, what difference would it have made to Him to do so? "He could be born as a babe, manifest out of the blue in a fully materialized adult body or travel here from a foreign country (in a jet plane through the clouds) in a body that He is currently using." By using the words 'travel here' are you saying that the Christ will have His base in the US, JJ? Your last suggestion (that He could appear in a body He's currently using) will no doubt please the Benjamin Cremes of this world. In fact, according to Creme, the Christ will be making an appearance on TV any day now (with dates and times being constantly revised). He's even got a photo of the Christ on the Share International site :-) "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Matt 24:4-5" "Has this prophecy been fulfilled?" Absolutely! There are many who have claimed to be the Christ in the last 2000 years. We even have people who feel the term 'Christ' by itself is insufficient tribute to their glory so they feel obliged to embellish on the title eg Cosmic Christ. I would be more than content to meet the Planetary Christ myself but for some people that's not enough. "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matt 24:27" "What is the fulfillment of this prophecy?" Lightning can symbolize vastly powerful or terrifyingly swift power from heaven which can either be life giving or death dealing. In fact, I understand that many times in the bible where the word 'light' is used it can equally be translated as 'lightning' especially where the Creative Principle is involved. So it could mean the light generated by bombs, or (probably more likely) the growth of the creative power in mankind i.e. knowledge, education, science etc. But I'm only guessing here ................ :-) "Here is another prediction: And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. Acts 1:9-11" "Fundamentalists see only one way this can be fulfilled and that is to have Jesus come floating down in the air from the clouds. What could be another way this prediction could be fulfilled?" We already know that 'clouds' can signify many things. The fact that the word 'air' is used in conjunction with 'clouds' could mean that the Christ will appear when mankind's mental body has developed and matured to a certain point ie he will appear through man's enlightened thoughts and resultant growth in the Light. People would have to have reasonably active mental bodies before the Christ would consider overshadowing them, I would have thought. "Most Bible believers believe that everyone on the earth will see Him at one time when he comes but this scripture gives us a clue in the opposite direction." "We are told in this scripture that circumstances around his Second Coming will be similar to His ascension as described here. How many here saw him go into heaven? Will a similar number experience the beginning of his return?" Eleven apostles saw him depart. So it stands to reason that 12 will be there when he reappears (Judas was replaced later on). Or maybe they'll actually appear with him as the Spiritual Hierarchy. The entire verse reads, 'Wherefore if they say to you, "Behold, he is in the secret chambers,' haste not to believe. For as the Light comes out of the East, and shines even to the West; so shall the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together'. If that possibility does not create interest in the formless worlds, I don't know what will." Fascinating. I always wondered how to apport. Now why am I not on the beach of my tropical island paradise? Is my belief or idea or desire not strong or complete enough for me to manifest there? Is my consciousness or attention too attached to 'here'? If so, how do I loosen it? I certainly believe it is possible, and John showed it can be done physically. JJ can you offer any exercises or further thoughts to help me do this? Later, JJ wrote, "We are like flowers or plants in relation to the formless worlds. The more advanced of humanity have some limited contact, but we do not understand the great leaps in freedom and movement and understanding we will have when we are prepared to go there as living consciousness. How is this practical knowledge?" I know this was a rhetorical question which you subsequently answered JJ, but it also gave me a sense of my responsibility to my world and to the worlds and entities within me because I realised, with appreciation, that higher entities in formless worlds care for and are responsible towards me, whether they are aware of it or not. When they make leaps, it lifts me. So I guess when I raise my vibration, it affects it affects the microcosms of which I am caretaker who may regard me as a sort of God. Your analogy encouraged me to live my life as well as I can because I see that it is not just me I'm 'looking after'. Now, just a point on reincarnation: We do not necessarily incarnate in chronological order. My next incarnation might be back in Ancient Egypt, for example. A friend of mine is aware she will be working on computers in a space ship in her next life. (In the formless worlds where there is no time, all my incarnations are happening now, so it must be possible to travel and actually be physically in another life, another time, not just on another part of this planet - although that would be grand enough!) Moving right along.... I too look forward to talking more about the underrepresentation of women. This Aquarian Age we are helping to usher in is, to my knowledge, 'auspiced' by the Holy Breath which is the Feminine Principle of God. (A beautiful image for contemplation of the handing over of the Age from Christ, the Son, to the Holy Spirit, is Michaelangelo's Pieta statue in which Mary holds the body of Jesus in her arms. It can be viewed at... http://www.artchive.com/artchive/ftptoc/michelangelo_ext.html http://graphics.stanford.edu/projects/mich/poster/pieta.jpg We (humanity) are moving from the number five (masculine number) to the number 6 (feminine number.) And another thing! Since Aquarius rules groups, maybe Jesus will return not in one body but in a group of people, and given the above maybe humankind will be sufficiently evolved by the time of the next coming to acknowledge the value of both the feminine and the masculine so that the group may be composed of people expressing through both sexes, ie males and females (and androgenous types?). Yet another topic.... I find the number 13 that was talked about interesting, as I believe most people on this planet today have 11 chakras, although some have 13 chakras. (Those who 'see' 7 are not seeing all.) Is each disciple plus Jesus (in the heart) represented by a chakra? ('Represented' might not be the word.) I have had some very vivid dreams in the last 2 years and they are dreams that I still largely remember and many of the events have since occurred and much of the data has been validated. One dream I had was about traveling through space (not outer space) via portals. In this dream (and subsequent ones), I was able to simply open a portal in space and step into it. Inside was a place of great healing and peace, I could step out anytime to any place I desired and I could take people with me if so desired. In this place, all fears and hatred just melted as they were incompatible and simply could not exist in this space, nor did they return upon leaving this place. You have insights from a unique point of view. Again, I do not have time to comment on all the group's answers. If I do not mention your comments that does in no way mean that they were not valuable to me or others. I often read your comments and think to myself that I must comment on them but either forget or just do not have time. Rest assured I read and reflect on all the group's writings. Many times a group member will write from a different vantage point than myself and offer something that will touch a soul that I cannot reach. Thus the group comments as a whole are more powerful than any individual. First Question: "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Matt 24:4-5 Has this prophecy been fulfilled? There have been a number of people in history who have claimed to be the Christ but the prophecy extends further than that. Later in the chapter it talks about false prophets who will say such things as He is in the desert or secret chambers. We are warned here to not go to strange places expecting to meet Him. So far everyone who has made any prediction around the coming of Christ or of some location where He will be found has been wrong. Glenys mentioned Benjamin Cr=E8me. I remember the first time I read the "words of Christ" as they were revealed through him. They left me completely flat. No new knowledge, principles or wisdom. Then somewhere around 1988 he came up to Boise to give a lecture. I thought I'd try and be open minded and listen to him. I was surprised to hear him declare boldly that Christ was going to appear in about two months from the date of the lecture. He was going to be on television and his presence would be so powerful that the whole world would just know who he was and accept him. Well two months passed and this glorious event did not happen. Later I heard he moved the event forward, but still it has now been over ten years and no mass TV appearance of the Christ with every eye recognizing Him. Benjamin Cr=E8me was a student and personal acquaintance of Alice A. Bailey and he has a small amount of true data of the reappearance, but is caught up in a number of illusions and will continue to make false predictions. It's possible that someone may surface who claims to be Cr=E8me's version of the Christ, but I assure you that such a one will not be able to speak words as beautiful as the Sermon on the Mount or give even one parable comparable to those of Jesus. After we pass the year 2000 we are going to see more false Christs and prophets appear. "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matt 24:27 What is the fulfillment of this prophecy? Several of you gave some good correspondences here. Let me give you one that has not yet been mentioned. Most of the light and higher knowledge that has stimulated the West since 1945 has been from the teachings in the East. The idea of the Christ Consciousness could not have permeated our society had it not been on the wings of the light of the East. The entire first stage of the Coming is due to the light of the east shining to the West. In addition to this Christ himself often dwells in a physical body in a hidden retreat in the East and it is possible He may travel to the West by orthodox means and begin teaching to certain prepared groups and then the world. In Acts, chapter one, that was quoted yesterday we saw that only a few disciples saw Him ascend. Then two angels appeared and told then that the Second Coming will be similar to the event that they had just witnessed. If this is true it would mean that when he comes again tha only a handful will recognize him at the initial event. Eventually every eye will see him, but this will happen over a period of time. We must remember that He plans on working directly with humanity in one form or another for a thousand years. After this mission is over He will leave this little planet for a time and another will assume the office of the Christ for an age. There have been a number of interpretations of the words of Jesus on the cross about the Father forsaking him. Even Secret Places of the Lion has a different twist. But, as it is written in the Greek, the translation is accurate and we even have this rendering in the Gospel of the Nazirenes, thought to be translated from the oldest texts available. The Christ was not being cruel in leaving Jesus on the cross for Jesus was an adept and not subject to pain. This is evidenced in a fragment of the gospel of Peter which tells us that Jesus was laughing on the cross. He found several circumstances around the event somewhat amusing. However to finish his mission and what some teachers call the fourth initiation he had to finish the job alone. The Christ did not completely withdraw, but only partially for a great purpose that has never been revealed before. A hint is revealed in these scriptures: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. "Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. "Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?" John 8:51-53 John 11:26 "And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" Here we are told that if we follow the words of Jesus we will never die. Question: Would Jesus teach something that He would not demonstrate? The whole world believes that Jesus died on the cross, but did he really? Is it possible that he practiced and demonstrated his teachings of overcoming death? Is it also possible that the words of Christ can enable us to never die also? I've read some of Creme's writings and would have to agree, he says nothing new. He is a good example of a modern day false prophet - a little truth here, a little truth there, and an earnestness that convinces many to disregard the failed prophesies and inconsistencies in his teachings. There is no doubt that Creme believes in his mission and his message; I just wonder what the guy he's got tucked away somewhere believes as he prepares himself to come forth as the Christ. "In addition to this Christ himself often dwells in a physical body in a hidden retreat in the East and it is possible He may travel to the West by orthodox means and begin teaching to certain prepared groups and then the world." Well, we're ready for him here in New Zealand :-)) "The Christ was not being cruel in leaving Jesus on the cross for Jesus was an adept and not subject to pain. This is evidenced in a fragment of the gospel of Peter which tells us that Jesus was laughing on the cross. He found several circumstances around the event somewhat amusing. However to finish his mission and what some teachers call the fourth initiation he had to finish the job alone." I wondered about that after I sent the email giving Errico's translation as I remembered that Alice Bailey said that Jesus, when He said 'Father, Father, why hast Thou forsaken me?' was actually experiencing His soul merging with His monad and for that, He would have had to had to lose His contact with the Christ. Interesting, the different slants the various translations can bring though. I had a feeling you would comment, JJ :-) I understood that one ceased to feel pain after they had passed the fourth initiation but wasn't sure whether Jesus experienced the pain of the Crucifixion and the events leading up to it as the initiation wasn't completed until the final stages (I thought). But I *do* find the thought of a joyful and happy Jesus on the Cross very appealing. "Here we are told that if we follow the words of Jesus we will never die. Question: Would Jesus teach something that He would not demonstrate? The whole world believes that Jesus died on the cross, but did he really? Is it possible that he practiced and demonstrated his teachings of overcoming death? Is it also possible that the words of Christ can enable us to never die also" It seems to be a common teaching these days that Jesus didn't die on the Cross. It makes more sense to me that He didn't but I'm not attached to a view one way or another. I understand that at the fourth initiation, the body is made up entirely of atomic matter and the three lower centres are completely and utterly purified. Therefore, it stands to reason that the body would not be subject to the 'corruption' of death. It's interesting how orthodox Christianity spiritualises Jesus' comments. We've been taught that when Jesus said we would never die, He meant that we would have eternal life. If He meant physical life, then I guess believing in Him means we can have eternal physical life as well if we choose it. How come believers through the ages, including His closest disciples, never took Him up on His offer? Hmmmm... well, climbing out of my conditioned box, I guess I'd have to say that, yes, it is entirely possible that Jesus did not, in fact, die. If there are yogis among us now who can slow their hearts to such a slow rate, it is not a quantum leap of the imagination to think that Jesus could do that to the point of others believing he was dead (i.e. such a slow, faint pulse as to seem non-existent, unnoticeable breathing, etc.). The famous book, The Passover Plot" put forth the theory that Jesus faked his death. He was not really resurrected, but with the cooperation of his disciples faked the death and resurrection. Another twist on this is that there was no plot but Jesus was just lucky enough to survive the ideal and was revived. Still another concept was presented by Seth that the real Jesus sent a disciple to be crucified for him. Since everyone thought Jesus was dead, because they thought they crucified him, then when the real Jesus showed up everyone thought he was resurrected. None of these tells it correctly. The real Jesus was crucified and after the event, by all human standards, he was dead and seemed to be dead for three days. There is a final event that must take place before a person is technically dead. What is it? A hint is given in Ecclesiastes 12:6-7. Is it possible that he practiced and demonstrated his teachings of overcoming death? Is it also possible that the words of Christ can enable us to never die also?" Well, a couple thoughts come to me here. To start with, I hear the words of Paul when he claimed that "It is for freedom that you have been set free. Therefore do not let yourselves again be put under a yoke of bondage". This bondage he speaks of could be interpreted as any one of a million different things, but to be appreciated and attained, we have to look for the answer in the principle. As I see it, bondage (also translated as slavery) is anything which holds another thing captive or "bound". It seems that this principle has been at work amongst humanity for quite some time now. In this time, we as a race have been kept bound to the rules of the world as we see them. One is born. One grows up. One grows old. And one dies. These, as well as paying taxes, are generally accepted as truth by all of humanity. And for good reason, because few if any of us has witnessed anyone escape these things. It's almost like a law. So how could Jesus, or anyone else, escape this principle? It would be like breaking the law, and certainly we don't want to be law breakers, right? In fact, we can't break the law. There is truly no way to break the law of death, for we are bound to it like we are bound by the law of gravity. I know this to be true because I can demonstrate that law very easily. If I were to take a piece of steel and toss it up to the sky in the hopes that it will fly, it will, due to the law of gravity, come crashing back to the earth. Principle understood. Law established. End of story. Right? Well, it could be the end of the story, but it's not. For we have learned from our experience that steel can fly. All that needs to be done is to apply another law that supercedes the law of gravity. Let's call that law the law of aerodynamics. And if we apply the law of aerodynamics to the steel, we may transform our hunk of steel into a Boeing 747 and we can watch the law of gravity bow to the higher law of aerodynamics. My friends, our race has spent eons clinging to the law of death with all it's associations; sickness, pain and destruction. We've experienced it in a million ways. We can demonstrate it. And the principle is never going to go away. It's a law. The bible calls it the "law of sin and death". But JJ asks: "Is it also possible that the words of Christ can enable us to never die also?" And I ask, can steel fly? If we will learn AND apply a higher principle, then the answer is a resounding yes. Aint life grand??? :o) John Post No. Keys-04-21-1999/3909 From: Glenys Lowery Subject: Re: Hint JJ wrote: "There is a final event that must take place before a person is technically dead. What is it? Sometimes it's good to be reminded of that indescribable love we have burning in our hearts that is beyond analysis. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Limitless void! Splendour into which all forms vanish! THE GOLDEN BOWL, THE HEAD; THE SILVER CORD, THE SPINAL COLUMN WHICH SUPPORTS IT. GOLDEN AND SILVER DENOTES THE PRECIOUSNESS OF MAN'S LIFE AND NATURE. Or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern." THE WHEEL, THE HEART, THE VERY FOUNTAIN SPRING OF LIFE. THE PITCHER, THE GREAT AORTA, FROM WHICH IS POURED THE BLOOD INTO THE WHOLE ARTERIAL SYSTEM. AS WHEN THE PITCHER AND THE WHEEL ARE BROKEN, WATER CAN NO LONGER BE HAD, SO LIFE CEASES WHEN VITAL ENERGIES FAIL. "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." THAT'S ALL FOLKS!!! My understanding (which isn't a lot these days) is that the silver cord is the link or interface between the etheric body and the physical body. It essentially allows the etheric body to move outside of the sense dimensions of the physical body during sleep or deep meditation. That's the link people sometimes see when they are astral traveling or leave their body during other times - trauma, for example. The physical body remains alive while the silver cord is attached, but once severed life ends. So it appears that Jesus' silver cord wasn't severed. It refers to people coming and declaring Jesus to be Christ. I have heard that when it is severed the spirit and body are no longer connected and it is death. I heard it different than Glenys, in that it is not the Etheric body which is connected by the cord, but rather the mental body, or soul. The etheric body is the glue that holds the physical body together and all physical manifestations appear to have an etheric body. There is one more thing that must occur for death to be total. If there is still an intact physical body, it can be "galvanized" and animated, telepathically, by an entity wishing to do so. It is said that this is usually a nefarious practice and is the basis of the making zombies. Also, dark forces introduced the practices of embalming the dead, because as long as the body survives, it's original owner cannot re-incarnate in a new body. That would effectively retard ones soul growth. After hearing all this, years ago, I decided, that when I go, I want either to be cremated or stashed in the woods, where nature can have her way with what's left. When Jesus was hung on the cross, there were several departures from the normal procedures. First, his legs were not broken. When you hang by your arms, on a cross, it is very hard to breathe and asphyxiation is the principle cause of death. By breaking the leg bones, they remove the support needed to push up and get a breath. Those killed in this manner were usually left there for days, but Jesus was only up there for a few hours. Could he have lived through it? Yes. When Jacques De Molay, Grand Master of the Templars, was tortured by the Inquisition, by an identical means, he lived another seven years after, according to the records. I'm sure some of you will be familiar with this -- indeed I see some contributors seem to have eluded to the story without actually mentioning the Creme connection, others have mentioned it briefly, so for those of you who are not so familiar with this version I'd like to give a brief outline below. I would point out first however that I'm not saying that the events described are 'true' -- I don't know one way or the other but the story is quite fascinating, and it is up to every individual to access the accuracy --- or the meaning that it may convey to them. I first heard and read pieces in the press over ten years ago that made reference to a great spiritual being living within the Asian community of London -- around the Brick Lane area. After reading several unspecified reports, which made references to some 'un named' but supposedly prominent public personalities and politicians seeking out this person I realized that the person most associated with these stories was Benjamin Creme. I attended one of Cremes lectures some years ago in London, and went to the March lecture last month to see if the presentation had changed much. Basically the event was the same - Creme seems to just present his story, and asks only that people give his views a fair hearing -- if they are not accepted by anyone - he makes it quite clear that he will not be offended in anyway -- and in no way will anyone be 'damned'. No pressure is applied during the lectures for money - or for anyone to sign up to any organisation. He accepts voluntary donations - and copies of his books and tapes are on sale. If you find that Creme is giving a lecture in your area it is quite worth a visit . Benjamin Creme currently gives lectures in London - monthly - and around the world - proclaiming that the 'Christ' is actually living in the World now -- and has been since 1977. Cremes early interest was in the works of the Theosophical works of H P Blavatsky - Leadbeater - Alice Baily etc. In his early days Creme followed the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi - According to Creme the increase in 'spiritual awareness' has been generated by the guidance and stimulus of the ' Masters of Wisdom'. Much of their work is said to have been carried out by their 'deciples' both men and women like Einstein, Abraham Lincoln, Mozart and Micelangelo. The Lord Maitreya who embodies the 'Christ Principle' is said to be the Master of Masters, the head and leader of a group of 'enlightened beings'. Creme reiterates that all religions await the coming of a teacher, Christians the return of the Christ, Moslems, the Imam Mahdi or Messiah. Hindus await the return of Krishna and the Jews the Messiah. Buddhists await Maitreya Buddha. According to Creme these are different names for the 'same' being - The World Teacher. Creme assets that 2000 years ago Maitreya manifested 'Himself' through 'His' deciple - Jesus by a process of 'Overshadowing'. According to Cr?me Maitreya has now returned -- in person -- as the World Teacher -- for 'all' groups. In 1959 Cremes says he started to receive messages in a telepathic form. Some instructed him to rendezvous with people unknown to him in various parts of London. Creme states that the 'messages' he was receiving were from a Master or Masters. Some of these 'communications' referred to the coming of the World Teacher whom Creme refers to as Maitreya. In June 1974 Creme was amongst a small group who began to receive an 'overshadowing' by Maitreya himself, these took the form of messages which outlined the proposed arrival of Maitreya into the every day world. According to Creme Maitreya 'created' a body in which he would live in the every day world - this is said to be different from Maitreya's 'body of light' -- the body of a perfected Master - - that remains safe in a retreat deep in the Himalayas. Creme states that Maitreya descended from his retreat in the Himalayas on the 8th July 1977 - and entered London England on the 19th July 1977 - where he took up residence as an apparently 'normal' member of the Asian community - from where he is said to await an invitation through the Worlds media -- the peoples 'representatives' to come forward as the World Teacher. According to Creme the 'Appearance' of Maitreys - the World Teacher will be precipitated by a global crash of the stock markets, which he claims is already underway, and was begun in Japan some years ago. According to Creme Maitreya and a group of Masters currently in 'incarnation' will make them selves known to mankind at the 'appropriate' time. Probably the most well known of these other Masters is the Master Jesus -- whom Creme says is currently residing close to the Vatican - and whose 'job' will be to guide the Christian Churches back into the 'correct' direction. The reappearance of the 'Christ' Creme states is the outer manifestation, of the Spiritual Hierarchy of which he is head -- and which will slowly emerge for the first time since Atlantean times, when the Hierarchy of Masters and their followers last openly worked amongst mankind in such numbers. The 'Christ' is here not to establish a group of 'devotees' around him - according to Creme - but to teach and lead all segments of mankind into the right ways of dealing with 'society'. The corner stone of this would be the idea that humanity needs to 'Share' the resources of the world in a more equitable way than as ever been done before. This would involve huge changes - especially in the economically 'rich' countries of today, who usurp the majority of the worlds riches for their own gain. The core of Cremes message is that Maitreya -- The Christ -- will one day soon make himself known to the entire population of the World by 'Overshadowing' the entire population in a telepathic way that has never done before --- it is by this method, Creme states that Maitreya will be recognised as the true manifestation of the Christ by a huge proportion of the worlds population on this day of 'declaration' -- he expects that the main opposition to this 'announcement' will arise from the fundamentalist groups within all the major religions, which is why Maitreya is said to spend much of his time even today - 'appearing' - at gatherings of fundamentalist groups of all kinds around the World -- in an attempt to 'soften' them up before he declared himself to humanity at large. Following this event Creme states that Maitrya will remain and work with humanity for the next 2500 years - until the age of Aquarius comes to a close. The 'teachings' of the 'Christ' will it is said be released in phases, but will emphasise the the 'oneness' of humanity, the 'fact' of the human soul, and on the need for 'sharing and right relationships'. The laws of Cause and Effect and the fact of rebirth will be central to the messages - and the absolute need for 'harmlessness' in all relationships. The leading of the Worlds populations through various 'Initiations' will be a large focus for Maitreya and the Masters in the future. It is Cremes belief that the so called ' born again' Christian groups have an instinctive 'feel' for the first initiation in that it is the 'second birth' - this experience is said to be currently shared by millions of people and is not the exclusive domain of the 'born again' Christians. The first initiation is said to demonstrate control over the physical body - the second initiation is said to demonstrate control over the 'emotional' or astral and emotional elements. and one has to in effect free himself from the 'emotional' bondage one carries. This process - it is said, may take many lifetimes too achieve. It is Cremes assertion that with Maitreya working openly in the World in the near future - then many souls will be aided in the taking of the second Initiation. The 'second' initiation is said to be one of the most difficult -- in that the initiate is seen to be immersed in the 'fogs' of desire - The third initiation some say is the 'first' true soul initiation -- and was represented by the Transfiguration of Jesus on the Mount. This initiation demonstrates control over the 'Mental' sphere and is said to truly bring the spirit ( sometime referred to as the Mondadic ) into contact for the first time. According to Creme Maitreya acts as the 'Initiator' at the first and second of the Initiations. Jesus is said to have been born a third degree initiate - and so simply 'symbolised' these various stages of 'growth' -- however he had to actually undertake the 'fourth' initiation and did so in order to demonstrate the experience of 'Renunciation'. In the West this is more commonly known as the Crucifixion' -- in the East it is referred to as the 'The Great Renunciation' -- a time when all is renounced -- position -- family -- even life itself if necessary. I believe Creme has stated that Jesus reincarnated some years after the Crucifixion as Apollonius of Tyana in northern India -- this is said to be the basis of some stories that Jesus in fact escaped death at the Crucifixion and managed to escape to India. Apollonius was said to have been a 5th degree Initiate upon his death. Following the 'fourth' iniation comes the 'fifth' -- the 'Resurrection' symbolised in Christianity by the body of Jesus after the Crucifixion. Following the 'fifth' initiation one is said to be able to 'stand free from the pull of matter for ever' and this is what the esotericists refer to as a 'Master'. Such a Master then has a choice on whether to remain on the Earth or to move onto other levels. There are said to be further 'Initiations' -- the 'Ascension' --- symbolized by the ascension of the Christ after his appearance before the disciples in the 'resurrected' body of Jesus is said to mark the 'Sixth' initiation -- this it is claimed confers 'Cosmic' Consciousness on the Master . The 'Initiation' process is not to be seen as a passing of a series of examinations -- but rather the gradual expansion of consciousness -- a process which many on this list seem to be at least 'instinctively' aware of. It is interesting to note that according to Creme - up until 1986 only around 800,000 people in incarnation at that time had taken the 'first' Initiation, 240,000 had taken the second Initiation, around 2- 3000 had taken the third -- and some 450 Initiates had taken the 'fourth' Initiation. As a 'rough' guide he states that one who has taken the 'first' initiation will be able to demonstrate a considerable degree of control of the desires of the physical body, and will have a 'general' attitude of 'inclusiveness' and 'goodwill' with a strong sense for 'altruistic' service. 'Idealism' will tend to be strong with a sense of 'group' awareness. Initiation confers 'Power'. - simple 'goodness' it is said, is not necessarily the mark of an 'Initiate'. According to Creme -- from the point of view of the Masters - one is not truly an Initiate until the third Initiation has been taken -- the first two being seen as 'degrees' of Initiation of the personality. One of Cremes main points -is that each person has a 'Ray' structure which seems to indicate their own 'potentiality' at any given time - this seems a rather complex structure - and maybe the list would like to go into it more fully at some future date. Below is an extract from the latest Internet publication by Benjamin Creme - further information can be found at one of the Share International web sites such as: Regards to you all Adrian Editorial SHARING AND CHARITY: TO WHOM SHOULD WE GIVE? By all means give to charity, the more you can give, the better; do all you can to alleviate the suffering of those less fortunate than yourself. If you could not identify with your fellow human beings, with the need of your brothers and sisters, then you would not be a disciple and you would not be involved in this work. But when Maitreya talks about sharing, He's talking about the acceptance of a principle which must (if humanity is to survive at all) govern all aspects of our economic life. And, yes, I do mean economic, I'm not just talking about the 'sharing' of ideas. It's not just a question of sharing what you, personally, possess with those who have less. It's a question of humanity seeing itself as one family -- with all the consequences of that realization. If humanity accepts that it is one, then it follows that the resources of the planet (the food, the raw materials, the energy sources, etc.) belong to all, and must be distributed according to *need*, and not according to the ability to pay. Current economic structures, based on competition and the 'free market', ensure that only those who can afford to pay (generally speaking the wealthy 33 percent of the world's population) get to eat properly, are adequately housed and clothed, have proper access to education and health care -- all basic essentials for a decent life. The acceptance of the principle of sharing in economic affairs entails the implementation of measures which guarantee these basic essentials to every one, whether he/she can afford to pay for them or not. This will mean a complete re-think of the way in which we relate economically, on a global scale. The implications are quite astounding. The amazing thing is that sharing really is the key -- the implementation of this one apparently simple idea will indeed lead to solving most of the world's most pressing problems (not overnight, of course, but, we are told, surprisingly quickly). Charity alone, although important at the moment to alleviate the suffering, cannot solve these problems -- the acceptance of the principle of sharing can. But it goes beyond that -- it will eventually lead to a world where all people (and not just the privileged few) have the freedom and leisure to explore their inner divine nature and true creative potential, which is after all why we're here. But none of this will happen if humanity does not first accept the principle. That is why it is so important to promote the idea of sharing -- but intelligently, not in vague mystical terms. -- Julian Creme UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE OF THE GOLDEN RULE The following quotations demonstrate the universal 'Golden Rule' taught in all religions, and show that through understanding the Law of Cause and Effect (or Karma) we recognize the need to practice harmlessness in every aspect of our lives. All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them; for this is the law and the prophets. Christian (Matthew 7:12) Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful. Buddhist (Udana-Varga 5:18) Regard your neighbour's gain as your own gain and your neighbour's loss as your own loss. Taoist (T'ai Shang Kan Yin P'ien) What is hateful to you, do not to your fellow man. That is the entire Law; all the rest is commentary. Jewish (Talmud, Shabbat 31a) This is the sum of duty: Do naught unto others which would cause you pain if done to you. Brahman (Mahabharata 5:1517) Surely it is the maxim of loving-kindness: Do not unto others what you would not have done unto you. Confucian (Analects 15:23) That nature alone is good which refrains from doing unto another whatsoever is not good for itself. Zoroastrian (Dadistan-i-dinik 94:5) No one of you is a believer until he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself. Islamic (Sunnah) BENJAMIN CREME ANSWERS (The following is excerpted from the current hard-copy issue of Share International magazine.) Q. I do not agree that market forces are the evil you claim them to be. We have had all sorts of concepts -- socialism, communism, etc. -- under which creative people have been 'put down', but without the creativity of such people we are nothing. A. Maitreya has outlined the concept of a new political system which is neither socialism nor capitalism but a fusion of the best of both. He says you should see politics as a kind of cart, which needs two wheels to go. If it has only one wheel -- either socialism or capitalism -- it won't go. The symbol of this is the unification of Germany, in which we have capitalist West Germany united with communist East Germany. This symbolizes a new type of social democracy or democratic socialism which is becoming the norm in Europe, and which, Maitreya says, will eventually become the norm throughout the world. Maitreya says there is, indeed, a place for individual creativity without which the world would be held back in its development. On the other hand, we must not, with Mrs Thatcher, say there is no such thing as 'society', only individuals; that is absolutely not true: there is a British society, a French, an American, a Chinese, a Russian society -- and so on. All of humanity make up society, and the resources of the world have been distributed most inequitably under both capitalism and socialism for centuries. We have never seen communism, because what Russia had was state capitalism not communism at all. Q. Will there be money, mortgages and so on when we move into barter? A. Basically, from what I understand of the plans, there will be advice. When we say: "We accept the principle of sharing as the only way to move forward; how do we do it?" various interrelated blueprints will be presented to the nations, already worked out by financiers, administrators and economists of great achievement in their own right, in consultation with the Masters. These will solve the redistribution problems which are the basis of our economic problems. The aim will be the minimum disruption of the existing social order but far-reaching, nevertheless. Breath is one of them as well. The human body is amazing in its complexity. It requires oxygen which the blood carries to all parts of the body and of course the heart is key in pumping the blood. Without the heart we would die, without breathing, we would die. I have heard that the former belief that when there is no longer brain activity, that it was the legal definition of death and they could take organs for transplanting. Someone has done a study that's changed that idea because they found that there is still activity somewhere else in the body that reacts when the body is first cut. People have recovered from deep comas to full consciousness. If the body is still able to react then there must be another criteria that determines the moment of death other than brain activity. This reminds me of how plants can react to thoughts by people. Diane Rick Audette wrote: "Yes, the silver cord is one of the things. If you read metaphysical books on death and dying such as The Tibetan Book of the Living and the Dead, you can see that it is regarded as a science by many cultures that can take up to three days. Tibetans talk about the Bardos, for example, and the complicated ways one can prepare for one's death (such as using different coloured lights at different stages of the process) so that one's karma is reduced and the highest possible 'heaven' is opened so that one can travel there. From my reading, the stages include: The severing of the life thread - silver cord The removal of the consciousness thread The exit of the three permanent atoms (recording devices that reside in the solar plexus, heart and pineal gland) The exit of the etheric, astral and mental bodies The rising of the kundalini and the exit of the soul extension or personality (from whatever chakra one operated from the most) I enjoyed your comments on zombies, Rick. I is so like 'The Great Invocation' the Tibetan says was given out by the Christ in 1945 . The final line is: "Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on earth". Light being the energy of the Buddha, Love - the Spirit of Peace, and Power - the Avatar of Synthesis. We are constantly being stimulated by the energies of Light, Love and Power pouring onto humanity (or those sensitive to impression) and they are breaking down the barriers of separation and will eventually fuse our consciousness into unity, based on the One Divine Life - or Christ consciousness. * I think Jesus demonstrated that in surrendering the physical body as He did, that the physical body need not die but can also ascend. * The Tibetan says that because of the service Jesus performed He is now a higher Initiate and that Kuthumi will be the next Christ. At your service, Rick Post No. Keys-04-21-1999/3926 From: J J Dewey Subject: The True Teacher Thanks for your posting, Adrian, of some of the teachings of Benjamin Creme. Actually, a large portion of the teachings you mentioned are not original with Creme, but with Alice A. Bailey of whom Creme was a student. Many new age gurus have read the works of Alice A. Bailey and presented teachings gained from her books as their own original material. Because her books are quite technical and difficult to read many students of such gurus are impressed that the material is original. There are a number of teachers who claim to be channeling every master available who only present a rehash of Bailey and other writers. It may be advantageous to present certain points to look for in a true representative of the Brotherhood and one who is under the illusionary path. Characteristics of the Misled Teacher 1. The first thing to look at is the teachings he or she presents, for the Brotherhood does not like to repeat itself. If it does it is only for the clarification purposes. A false teacher's highest teachings will be a repeat of information that has already been revealed. Creme's highest teachings are Alice A. Bailey Quotes. 2. The false teacher will teach in data and not principles. If there is anything new in his teachings it will be in the form of unprovable data. One of the few new things in Creme's teachings was some data about the number of disciples who have passed through the various initiations and even on this he has over estimated the number. 3. The false teacher will make fantastic predictions that do not come true. I recounted in my last post such a prediction by Creme. 4. The false teacher presents himself as a humble servant but subtly works to draw attention to glorify himself and his ego. When I heard Creme in person make his false prediction I sensed that it originated in glamour. Also his mannerisms seemed very centered in glamour. To conform my suspicions I went to meet him after the lecture and got his autograph. I am an expert handwriting analyst and saw immediately on looking at his writing that I was correct. The guy revels in attention directed toward his ego. 5. The false teacher will lie when it furthers his purposes. I personally think that Creme just makes up a lot of the "teachings" that are supposed to come from Christ and is aware of this fact. 6. The false teacher will usually emphasize teachings of the passing age, which is the age of Pisces at this time. Creme's message of sharing and sacrifice sound pleasing, but they are presented in Piscean format and are not workable in the coming age. 7. He will not offer you a way to prove to yourself that his teachings are true, but will want you to accept him through faith in his personality. Those who are sure that he is correct are convinced through outer signs. Creme has offered no way for us to know the truth of his teachings. Characteristics of the True Teacher. 1. The bulk of his teachings will not be a repetition of writings already in existence. His or her teachings will either be new or throw new light on teachings already revealed. Look at the two greatest in history, Jesus and Buddha. They may have quoted some from teachers of the past but overall their core message was new and brought additional light to the world. 2. The true teacher will stress principles more than unprovable data and will generally reveal and explain new principles. 3. The true teacher is not infallible but will be cautious in making fantastic predictions. His predictions he does make will be very reliable and will often be clothed in mystery as are the writings of John the Beloved and Nostradamous. 4. The true teacher may be accused of being in the work for the ego, as even Jesus was, but in reality his prime goal will be service to humanity. He only seeks recognition for his true accomplishments, when it furthers the work, and will never seek the recognition that belongs to others. 5. The true teacher will attempt to so live his life so he will never lie or deceive. If he does not achieve perfection in this he recognizes his mistake and seeks to correct it. 6. The true teacher will emphasize the coming principles of the Aquarian age. He will not abandon the good of Pisces and sacrifice, but his main attention will be on the coming energies of service as we discussed earlier. 7. The true teacher will teach students a path that will lead to verification through the soul and Spirit that the principles he teaches are true. Those who are convinced he is correct are sure because of powerful inner confirmation rather than outer signs, even though outer signs may seem to manifest. This is all the time I have to comment tonight. Tomorrow I will give you some new material that has never been before revealed by any teacher in the flesh that I know of. Several of you are on the right track about the silver cord. SharonJ Post No. Keys-04-21-1999/3928 From: John Kosior Subject: Re: The True Teacher Good Morning Folks. And once again I say thank you to JJ. I believe that discerning between true and false teachers, especially at this time, may be the most important ability we can possess. For a very long time I have contemplated this question. And I will say that the things I have learned through JJ and others on this list have served to sharpen my own discernment immensely. In particular, I understand that true teaching is in fact done through the teaching of principles. JJ, to say thank you seems quite inadequate. What you have accomplished through this revelation is to safeguard us from being drawn into teaching based on ego/personality/ illusion/etc. In this light, I remembered this scripture: Mark 12:13-14 13 Later they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to Jesus to catch him in his words. 14 They came to him and said, "Teacher, we know you are a man of integrity. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not? (NIV) In this scripture, I see the two types of teachers. Here were the teachers of the day coming to test the Teacher. I remember the first time I read this I actually LOL. I thought, "Oh! Bad move guys"! But what I picked up on was how the "misled teachers" operated. They came with bad intentions, to catch him in his words. But they came first with a true statement. Jesus taught as "one with authority". And it's true, He wasn't impressed or afraid of the "authorities" of the day. Then they laid the trap. It seems that this approach is still very popular to this day. Many "teachers" have come around with very polished, and often flattering words. They will often make a true statement or two, which is meant to lure their listeners into believing them. Then after they have their audience "captive", they can more easily mislead them, or trap them, or accomplish whatever intent they had set out to do. I am forever on my guard against this type of teaching, both from without as well as from within. From without I am watchful of those who demand upon the authority of their teachings. From within, I am watchful that I examine the intent of what I say. Whether what I say serves another, or serves only my own ego. And of myself I demand that I never say anything that I have not confirmed through the soul and Holy Spirit. Then to add one more safeguard, I ask God that if anything I say falls outside of truth or proper intent, that it fall on deaf ears, misleads no one, and fades quickly into the ether. And even with all of this, I do not consider myself to be a teacher, but only a communicator of what I have been shown. I'd rather let the Teacher be the teacher. So with all that said, I'll take my seat in the classroom and await the next lesson. This is the sole purpose of the whole human evolution: To incarnate the powers of Spirit in the flesh, thus being above death and matter, and yet, in matter. Like manifesting a body by an act of will. Reminds me of the theatrical appearance of Babaji in "autobiography of a Yogi". First he sees a kind of luminous "cloud", speeding above the lake, that "cloud" comes in front of them, stops, condenses, and there appears Babaji in full matter body, greeting his sister:-) "The Life of The Masters" abundantly teaches such "miracles" as being what any man is bound to achieve. So there remains a link during three days. Is the "silver cord" involved? Or some other kind of cord?" well if he was dead then resurrected, did he achieve this because of his exceptional training and abilities, of was it a job from other entities? We're full in the subject of "Nine faces of Christ", which i just reread. In this book Jesus is presented like an initiate that achieves an unprecedented level of human evolution, thus being able, and trained for, to work wonders, like resurrection, teleportation, and such. One key point is that he must be able to do miracles, not only under the stress of Initiation like in a ceremony, where you are hungered, exhausted and such, not even in calm and peace, *But under the opression of temporal powers, when all these temporal powers put you to the test* I truly can relate to that. Soul powers in the temple, or alone and at peace are one thing, but under torture of the nazis, it's another story. First thing: the group supports you. Second: You are "alone", and can do it "by yourself", at will, anytime. Third: You got all the temporal powers against you. (and the smallest resentment makes you lose your abilities:-) And it is only if the Messiah can do it in the third situation that he can proove it true to the world at large. If I add to that what you said JJ, that Jesus hoped and worked for establishing a temporal power as well, and that he had to accept his soul telling him to go sacrifice, well.... I hope you'll write a Life of Jesus someday:-) Is this always the case? Does a work like yours always need support from friends, like me going to spread book I&II? I'm talking about the fact that we live, grow, die, and somewhere we nurture our slavery. A strange feeling I never had until now, this bondage to body life. And the way we ourselves build it. No matter who is teaching outside, your neighbor, a guru, JJ, or whoever, one only learns by being taught from within what is being triggered from without." The problem with saying that the true teacher is within is that it implies that all teachers who are 'without' are untrue. That means teachers like Jesus, Buddha and lesser ones, are automatically classed as untrue, and I doubt that you meant that. Perhaps the word should be 'ultimate'. But semantics aside, I do agree that the ultimate path to truth is through developing soul contact and JJ has spoken about it a great deal, along with the Intuitive Principle. Spirit uses all sorts of aids to assist us grow and sometimes teachers are sent into our lives to guide and nurture us in our search. We have all heard the age old saying, 'When the student is ready, the teacher will come'. I'm happy to accept anyone into my life who can assist me on the Path. I see it as a gift from God. There are signposts a true outer teacher can give me that I would never be able to prove for myself because of my limited intelligence. I then use my intuition and what knowledge I do have about the subject to discern whether the teaching is true. More often than not, I may adopt a teaching a as working hypothesis until something better comes along. The advantage of that is that I have very few fixed views on anything and so can be flexible and the disadvantage is that I constantly change my ideas as I grow and so can appear wishy washy and passionless. In fact, one of my main complaints about myself for awhile was that I had lost my passion as I no longer seemed to have strong views about anything. For a while I felt 'watered down' somewhat. I think we also need outer teachers to test the knowledge that we believe we've been given from within. Most of us would have had the experience of knowing without a shadow of a doubt that we have been told something on the inner, only to find we were wrong. I suppose the bottom line for me is that if something's true I don't particularly care how I get it - from a teacher on the outer (and confirmed by soul contact) or directly from that wonderful 'teacher within'. Perhaps one day I will have no need of anyone but the teacher within, but I'm not at that stage yet (although I must say that for years I thought I was - youthful arrogance :-) Love Glenys -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The smallest deed always exceeds the grandest of intentions. - Anonymous Post No. Keys-04-21-1999/3952 From: LeLona Hodge
