Like a Lamb
Several of you were on the right track when you said the two horns like a lamb had something to do with Christ since Christ is called the “lamb of God.” But the second beast is deceptive because “he spake as the dragon.”
Now let us examine it in a little more detail. First we are told that this beast comes up out of the earth. It may help here to give a more accurate translation. “Coming up” comes from the Greek ANABBAINO which means to grow and spring up like a plant. The word “Earth” comes from GE which literally means “soil or land.” Sometimes it can be translated as “country or earth.” A more accurate rendering of the verse would then be: “And I perceived another beast quickly growing like a plant out of the land (earth or soil).”
This is actually a second symbol of Christ, the other being the “two horns like a lamb.” Legend and inspired writings tell us that Christ was born in a cave. In other words, Christ himself sprang out of the earth, literally. The earth is also a symbol of Virgo, the Virgin Mary who bore the Christ child. The earth is also a symbol of the developing Christ life on the physical plane. The trouble is that each of us struggles to deliver the Christ child in our hearts, and we struggle as if in a fog, seeing everything upside down. We first serve the anti- Christ outside of ourselves for many lifetimes until we finally wake up. Then we discover that was illusion and the real Christ is within ourselves.
This drama has been played out in our recent history for the second beast is the United States. The second beast grew up like a plant in a new land and that was America. Those who were drawn to the new country came for the sake of freedom, worship and opportunity – and qualities enunciated by the Master. The two horns like a lamb were the U.S. Constitution with the new political order of freely elected representatives, and the establishment of freedom of religion and self determination.
In addition to this several important religions were established here. First, the LDS or Mormons were created on the idea that revelation and miracles did not cease with the Bible, but should always be a part of the church of Christ. An integral part of this was that every person with a witness of Christ should be a prophet. The Christian Science church was founded on valid principles of healing that had potential to help many people. The Jehovah’s Witnesses did not intend to be a church but began as groups of people just getting together and seeing what the Bible had to say with no dogma attached.
Unfortunately, even though these three churches began with these important Christ principles, they have all drifted from them. The Mormons no longer publish new revelation from God nor do they allow ordinary members to be prophets. Christian Science seems to have no more healings than any other church and the Jehovah Witnesses are now so dogmatic they irritate 90 percent of the populace. All of them have turned authoritative and strictly control what a member can learn and teach to remain in good standing.
So the second beast is the United States that began its political and religious life as the lamb, but as it matured it became authoritative in both areas. This country now feels a need to use strong authority to decide which dictators of the Beast will be cultivated, and which ones will be destroyed. The conservatives feel the need to spread their dogmatic Bible belt religion world wide by whatever means necessary; and the liberals feel the same need with their illogical extremist beliefs in the name of saving everything from the ozone layer to snails. Now both sides have their good points, but the big promoters of both points of view would be destructive if either completely got their way. Both sides support the strong authority demanded by the dragon. So now the United States has left its Christ like roots of free thought and religion and now is a strong promoter of mindless authority throughout the world.
I do not say here that the US is evil in the normal sense. It still has the two horns like the lamb and may be the best country to live in on earth, but it has left its roots. Consequently, it has lost much of its power given through free election, and has given power to unelected authorities in both church and state. Thus because authority is enshrined, the deadly wound of the first beast is healed and the worship (kissing up) has been renewed.
Next Verse:
“And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.” Rev 13:13
How did the United States make fire come down out of heaven in the sight of men?
The answer will amaze you.

Fire from Heaven

“What naturally came to my mind is a picture of the Atom Bomb. I have received many calls from the inside, through reading, i.e. I have fallen many times on written words that spoke of the Atomic Power.
“Rudolf Steiner said it has to do with Christ’s sacrifice. Hopi knowledge talks about a light brighter than a thousand suns. And a character from a book I liked was born on the day of Hiroshima bombing. Not much to this one, but it always triggered much in’sight in me.
“I definitely am led towards the feeling that there is much more meaning in the atomic power then it would seem. I don’t have any clue if this is the answer JJ will give us, though. It’s just the image that imposes itself to me, and I thought like sharing. Thanks for letting me participate in your adventure.”

This is one of the most exact answers given yet and is more correct than you know. Congratulations! I did not expect anyone to get it for a while.
As confirmation let us look up the word “heaven” in the Biblical Greek. It comes from OURANOS, the same word that Uranium comes from. Now let us literally retranslate this verse. “He does great signs in that he makes fire out of Uranium in the sight of mankind.” This verse definitely confirms the identity of the second beast.
The next verse calls this a miracle. Can anyone tell me why the splitting of the atom is a symbol of the greatest miracle that Jesus ever performed?

Radioactivity
We have received several interesting answers.
There were no wrong answers for there are many correspondences here. All statements given so far are worthy of contemplation. Glenys and Kyle are on the right track by indicating that we have a symbol of rebirth. This is true, but not rebirth in the normal sense. We have all heard that radioactivity can produce mutations and a rebirth in a mutative form is the impetus of all evolution.
The greatest miracle of Jesus was the resurrection. After his supposed death he was placed in the tomb of matter. On his rebirth to eternal life the illusionary matter that held his true life split open and released the living Christ. Now correspond this to atomic energy.
When I said the answer would amaze you I was referring to the full answer about the atomic correspondences, and I indeed find it amazing that John wrote about all this 2000 years ago.

The Tomb of Matter
The tomb or grave Christ was placed in after the crucifixion corresponds to the prison of the Uranium Atom. At the resurrection the tomb of matter was split in two releasing the eternal life. Now let’s put the analogy all together remembering that when the physical atom is split something seems to be lost or converted.
Another correspondence could be drawn by comparing the physical body to the atom, but let us cover one level at a time.
Let’s see who can put together all the correspondences.
Glenys posted an interesting writing about the coming celestial fire by subtle fusion. While it is true that the time will come when heaven and earth shall come together, there is much misinformation about it. At least this article is intelligently written and does not predict that all will be transformed next week and all we have to do to be “saved” is sit back and accept the energy (let Jesus save).
This person talks about subtle fusion, an idea that I have not come across before. As indicated in The Immortal Book II there are universes within the subatomic particles built on a different ray or number system than our universe. These infinitely small particles do have motion but do not create any fusion process that I am aware of. Physical matter is created on an illusionary principle that must be unfolded rather than undergo fusion to remove the illusion.
Moses accomplished this when he came down from the mountain. His face glowed like the sun and they had to cover him because he was too bright to look upon. Jesus underwent the same thing on the mount of Transfiguration. He glowed like the sun. This did not happen by fusion, but by unmasking the illusion so the real can shine forth. This is a part of the process by which death is overcome. Both Moses and Jesus overcame death through this process to the point that they could be regenerated. At his resurrection the Christ went even further, however. There is an interesting scripture about Moses that will blow most Christians away if you quote it to them.
“Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” Rom 5:14
Here we are told that death reigned from Adam to Moses. Did Paul also realize that Moses also overcame death? Anyway the process of bringing heaven and earth together has just happened here and there at points of light in our history, but just as an atomic explosion is created in geometric progression that is 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 etc. so is the transfiguration of the humanity and eventually the earth. This will take a very long period of time altogether.
We hear all kinds of stories about the earth being transformed into a fourth dimension, some type of ascension or visit by space people and it’s always going to happen very quickly, usually in a couple years, sometimes a couple months. 99% of this talk is illusion and will not happen anywhere like we hear predicted.
There is a process that will be revealed in the Immortal series that will teach the principle that will open the door into the next kingdom, called The Kingdom of God by the Prophets. This will increase the powers of the human disciple and some will overcome death, but the process will not happen overnight. Humankind has many years remaining on this earth to fulfill its destiny.
I left off talking about the correspondences between the resurrection and the atomic bomb or energy. No one quite got what I was looking for, but perhaps my direction was not clear. Several did mention the correlation of new life and this is accurate.
The Christ represented the positive nucleus of the atom. His crucifixion and burial represented the fall of spiritual matter into a state where illusion and death becomes a real concern. In this state the central sun (Son) of the atom has its great light hidden by a veil of negative energy that becomes a tomb hiding a great reality.
Atoms evolve similar to humans in that as they progress they add seven chakras or electron layers. When the seventh becomes active the atom becomes radioactive and may even glow in the dark like radium. The radioactive human will also shine like the sun during certain initiations as Jesus did on the Mount of transfiguration.
Finally, when the atom and the human complete their evolution, the dark tomb of matter can no longer hold them. That which seemed to be dead splits the tomb of death in two and the pure spiritual energy escapes. In the case of the atom a certain percentage is translated into pure energy or spirit; in the case of the Christ the inner life stands revealed as pure spirit, and is no longer limited by physical restrictions.
What is interesting here is that the Christian world is awaiting a great world dictator and false prophet and all these things have already come true. Our age corresponds to the days of Jesus in that the Messiah came and fulfilled all the prophecies, but the world missed it. Even now the Jews still look for their savior. Today everyone is waiting for the Beast and other signs that are already here.
To illustrate this and expand on the sign of atomic energy let us go to a prediction of Jesus. In Matthew chapter 24 He was speaking of signs that would occur before He would come again. Here is an important one the Christian world is yet waiting for:
“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
“And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer [is] nigh. So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, [even] at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” Matt 24: 27-34
Here we learn about The Sign of the Son of Man in “heaven,” that will be given before the end of the age. What do you suppose this is and why? What generation shall not pass away till all the things mentioned are fulfilled?
