Study Guide 3

Soul-to-Soul

Syllabus

Content:

It is taught that if you do nothing else in this life except to seek, establish and nourish a relationship with your soul, then you may have accomplished one of the most important milestones in your spiritual evolution. Important as our relationship with our souls may be, for each of us accomplishing this is no small task, as this topic falls squarely into the, "easier said than done" category.

And while you may believe you know all there is about "the soul", and have a pretty good idea how the entire process works, and believe that there is nothing more that you can learn, we suspect that you still will find this study guide helpful--if for no other reason than it serving as a "review" of the subject.

Whether you know little or nothing about your soul, or you believe you have some level of communion with it, these are some of the questions that we believe need to be asked about and of yourself, and for which the answers may be discovered in the course of using this study guide:

  • What and where is my soul? What's the difference between my soul and my spirit?
  • Why would I even want or need to contact, commune and speak with my soul? Why are we being taught and told to speak to our souls and the souls of others instead of learning how to talk to God or Jesus Christ?
  • If I do in fact have a soul, how is it and, or was it created?
  • Can my soul be destroyed?
  • What is this "soul contact" anyway? And, how do I contact it?
  • Can I actually contact and commune with the souls of others in, or beyond this world? Why would I want or need to do this?
  • How do I, and how will I know it when I am in contact with my soul--or in contact with the souls of others?
  • If you believe you already enjoy a degree or level of communion with your soul, could you characterize your relationship with your soul as being "firm and continual"? If not, then how would you describe your relationship with your soul?
  • How can I be sure that I have soul contact in all aspects of my life? And how can I determine what parts of my life I have soul contact and what parts I do not? As we all have "blind spots," can you list which areas of your life or in your relationship with you soul in which you are aware of these "blind spots?" If not, do you know how you can discover these spiritual "blind spots"?
  • What's the difference between the "inner voice," the "still small voice," and the voice of the Holy Spirit?
  • What do I talk to my soul about? Is there a special language that I use?
  • I hear all kinds things that may be described as "voices" in the form of what we perceive or believe to be "thoughts and feelings." Is this what you are talking about? So, how do I tell the difference between the voice of the soul and other "voices?"
  • How old is my soul? Are there young souls and old souls? Does it matter if I am a young or old soul?
  • Can I "lose" my soul?
  • If you believe you regularly commune with your soul, what direction and/or instructions have you received from your soul of late?
  • What if I hear a voice that tells me to do something that I know is "bad"?
  • If you believe you have soul contact, do you have difficulty maintaining daily, or a consistent level of contact or communion with your soul?
  • Are you looking to improve your level of communication or communion with your soul? No? Do you believe that you have reached the "ultimate" level of soul contact? How did you come to know or believe this?

The content of this study guide consists of reading assignments which are comprised of selected readings and references in the form of quotes, "seed thoughts,"  excerpts and passages that focus on the topic of soul-to-soul communication. The intention is to not only answer questions similar to those above, but also cause other questions to arise which you may have not yet experienced or become aware of.

Aside from the syllabus portion of this study guide, all reading assignments were selected and extracted verbatim from the thousands of spiritual and/or inspired teachings and writings of author and spiritual teacher Joseph John Dewey located either in The Keys Archives located here at FreeRead.Com, or from published hardcopy versions of his books.

The topic and reading assignments for this study guide were selected using a mindful and purposeful approach using the teachings and principles covered in Study Guide 1 which includes the repeated and continual study and contemplation of the entire body of "inspired" writings, teachings and works as presented by author and spiritual teacher Joseph John Dewey.

Additionally, the reading assignments for this study guide and other guides have been organized in a conscious sequential fashion designed to expose and expand the horizons of reader's understanding and awareness beyond the preconceptions, common definitions, and typical experiences associated with the word "soul"--to include a concept which is referred to as "soul contact" and the use of communion with the soul to discern the truth in all things. This sequential arrangement of reading assignments is intended to assist the reader in constructing their own personal 'spiritual stairway and/or ladder' which they can utilize to lift themselves up, move themselves forward, and help them discover, realize and reach their desired goals as it relates to the spiritual development of their soul.

This same conscious, sequential fashion that is applied to this presentation of the teachings and principles as espoused by JJ Dewey is also reflected in the selection of the topics for; and, from study guide to study guide. For instance, based upon the topics covered in previous study guides, the reader should, in addition to the knowledge, understanding and skills acquired in this study guide, be able to use and apply the tools of prayer, meditation and contemplation, and their knowledge of relationships in assessing the teachings and principles revolving around this expanded definition of the soul that are presented in this study guide.

We are not advocating that the approach in this or other study guides as being the sole, or even necessarily the best approach to the study of this topic or any of the teachings of JJ Dewey. In fact, all are encouraged to seek out their own path of study should they be so impressed to do so. This and other study guides are merely suggested "jumping-off points ."

Regardless of the approach taken in this study guide or the approach taken by the reader, we are confident that the every reader possesses the ability to mentally discern and soulfully confirm the truthfulness (via their inner self or inner voice) of these or any teachings. We are also confident that if approached with a sincere hearth and an open mind, the truth of these teachings can be further confirmed by direct application and incorporation of them into the lives of those who are truly seeking greater knowledge and light.

Learning Objectives:

Once the reader has completed reading, studying and contemplating the assigned readings, you should then (if and when you so choose) be able to:

  • Accurately and consistently discern the truth in and of all things in this life and in this world, as well as it pertains to your future lives and the many worlds yet to come and be experienced.
  • Identify, analyze and evaluate the relationship with your soul and recognize and experience the souls, and soul contact of others.
  • Know how to mentally discern whether you are or are not in contact with your soul; and the degree of soul contact you have in each area of your life. This will in-turn assist you in making conscious decisions as to how to increase and enhance the level of soul contact in those areas of your life which you believe is lacking a sufficient level of soul guidance and infusion.
  • Know what is and what is not soul contact.
  • Seek and know the difference and benefits of personality-to-personality communications and soul-to-soul communications.
  • To become fully conscious of, and recognize the past, present and future impact of choosing to, or not choosing to listen to the ultimate authority of your soul, and in particular the impact of recognizing your soul and then to mindfully and willfully reject it.
  • Through further contemplation and attention receive the specific knowledge and develop skills to know if, how, what and whether you need to modify, analyze, or take other concrete, conscious actions to ensure that contact with your soul is "firm and constant," with the goal of having all aspects of yourself being "soul infused."
  • Be able to specifically recognize and internally and consciously register contact with the souls of others.
  • Experience an increase in the understanding and acquiring of the skills which will assist the reader in establishing and maintaining a high level of firm and consistent contact with your soul, to such an extent as to prepare you for potential contacts with higher realms and entities.
  • Know and experience that which is often referred to as "the peace that passeth understanding" in your life.

Dependent upon the degree the reader opens themselves up to the possibility of the existence of the soul, the ability to commune with it, and seeking to follow the impressions received from their soul, the reader will also find themselves becoming even more open to and increasingly sensitive to receiving additional impressions from or through their soul. These additional impressions will, in-turn, begin to dramatically change their lives and the perception and understanding of the world within and around them heretofore unimagined.

And, if seriously contemplated, the reader will experience increased awareness and knowledge discovered through a personal revelation not only of the existence of the soul, but also the truth of the soul being the key, door-way and window through which all revelations from all higher sources flows.

As the reader proceeds through the reading assignments found in this study guide, we encourage you to concurrently contemplate the possibility of how the various aspects of our existence and experiences--past, present and future, can be identified as being a function of some type and/or kind that is related to the existence and evolution of their soul. And, that until our relationship with our soul is actively sought out, discovered, realized, acknowledged, nourished and attended to, we may be unintentionally impeding our own spiritual progression. You can choose to either seek union and purpose with your soul's desire to eternally progress, or not. But know that your soul shall continue to use all it's energy to propel itself forward--either because of you; or in spite of you.

It's your choice!

Schedule Of Topics and Readings:

There is not going to be any additional schedule of topics or readings outside of what is identified and/or covered in this study guide. However, this does not mean to indicate that the assigned and/or suggested readings or the sources are a complete or total representation of what JJ Dewey has written and taught concerning this topic. Should you be so impressed to study a subject more deeply, then you must search out his writings further. This does not mean that this study guide may not be modified, and if it is we will publish an announcement highlighting the changes.

The intention of the Keys Welcoming Committee and these Study Guides is not only to introduce you to the writings and teachings of Joseph John Dewey, but to stimulate you to study them on your own, gain greater confidence in yourself and your knowledge of them; and having received "a greater light,"  and in-turn find themselves motivated to actively and more fully participate at, in and with The Keys Of Knowledge discussion group.

The only reading materials which may be quoted (used as reading assignments) that are not available to you online for free here at FreeRead.Com are "The Immortal II,"  "The Lost Key Of The Buddha" and,  "Eternal Words."  We highly recommend that you purchase all of the "Immortal Series" books and read them. You can purchase them (and other related items) from JJ's online store.

However, as you read, study and contemplate this study guide, you may wish to make your own list and schedule of topics, readings and learning goals.

Reading Assignments:

As a significant portion of the reading assignments for this Study Guide are found in "The Book Of Quotes," the student needs to understand what these quotes are, and how to use them in order to maximize the learning experience.

First of all, all of the quotes in the referenced chapter were, and/or are taken from the works of JJ Dewey. The quotes for these chapters were selected based upon their ability to transmit a message or teaching in as few words as possible. They are to be used as "seed thoughts" to help the reader in preparing, orienting their minds; and for receiving future direction from their soul on this and other related matters.

When reading these quotations, the reader needs to allow their direction of study to be led by the thoughts and impressions that come to them while they are reading; and even those thoughts and impressions that come to them at some future point in time.

The number assigned to each individual quote found in The Book Of Quotes also acts as a link which will take them to the article from which the quote was extracted.

Note:   In order to facilitate the movement onto and between each successive reading assignment, you need to either "bookmark" this page or use your web browser's "BACK" button to return to this page when you have completed each reading assignment.

Reading Assignment 1:

To that end, the reader is encouraged to begin the reading assignments for this Study Guide by proceeding to "The Book Of Quotes" and read and contemplate all the quotes which you are impressed to in "The Book Of Quotes" chapters entitled  Got Soul?  and  Soul Contact.

Once you have completed the above exercise, return to this page and proceed with the next and subsequent reading assignments.

Reading Assignment 2:

Note:   Reading assignments Number Two and Three of this study guide are two collection sets of article links contained in the three part feature entitled "From The Archives." The links in these collections will take you directly to articles that JJ has written and posted to The Keys Of Knowledge spiritual discussion group at Yahoo. These articles are now part of what is often referred to as the "The Keys Achieves" which is located right here at FreeRead.Com. These articles were specifically chosen as they contain teachings and information related to the topic as indicated by the titles of the article link collections and the subject of this study guide.

The first collection of articles you are asked to read is entitled  "What and Where Is The Soul?" This and other subjective collections of links can be found in Part Two of the above mentioned "From The Archives" section.

Reading Assignment 3:

The second collection of articles you are asked to read are from Part One of the "From The Archives" feature, and are entitled  "Soul Contact".

Reading Assignment 4:

Read and contemplate the following excerpts, quotes and source articles as you are impressed to:

Source:  How-To of Soul

The most important thing we can do is to attain soul contact for ourselves and when this is achieved the true teacher can be recognized by a soul-to-soul knowing or gnosis. On the other hand, the false teacher will produce a negative knowing; he who has soul contact can receive verification from within concerning darkness as well as light.

Source:  The Work

To find evil in people feeling or seeking a soul connection to one another is an amazing thing.

The soul-to-soul contact is just beginning. There are vistas of communion and intensity of joy and oneness on the path ahead that few have dreamed of.

Source:  Teachings Continued

Two personalities may have a similar view of God, yet because they call He/She/It by different names, they may see the other as an enemy of such God. The problem with the personality is that even if two people experience or believe in essentially the same thing our filters cause us to see the other as one who is much different from ourselves.

The solution is soul to soul communication rather than personality-to-personality.

Source:  Question

Seeing the Christ in an undesirable person causes you to forgive him of all offenses, because you are seeing from soul-to-soul. This does not mean that on a personality level you have to pretend like he is a nice guy and be his friend. If you are a person with soul contact you should seek friends who also have such contact, but when those of low vibration crosses your path recognize that the Christ is within them and is seeking to surface and let them go on their way with no negativity being sent or received by you.

From a higher point of view we are all soul mates. When you find a person that you can be one with then you will have a mate that you can communicate with soul-to-soul, which is a true soul mate.

Although it is indeed a heavenly experience to find a soul-to-soul mate there are many spiritual experiences along the path to this union.
