Synopsis: Whether you believe in it or not, next to the topic of Reincarnation, Karma -- or The Law of Cause and Effect you probably at least have a general idea of what Karma is, right? The problem is, is that like all terminologies and topics that are commonly known and used, there comes with what we refer to as "common knowledge," a great deal of common misunderstandings and common distortions. The result is that what you end up with is something that is almost unrecognizable when compared to the original teaching. Such is the case with Karma -- or what is often referred to in esoteric teachings as "the first law." As with Reincarnation, most religionists also reject Karma as so much "new age mumbo jumbo." Little do they know that not unlike Reincarnation, Karma is extensively spoken of and taught in almost all religious texts and ideologies. But like many other topics normally associated with "esoteric/new age thought," these religious texts refer to this and other concepts by using different names and/or describe it using different words often arrived at through biased translations and interpretations that purposefully veil the original teaching.

Interestingly enough what is similar to both new age thought and religious orthodoxy are teachings which may be characterized as "escape of responsibility/accountability schemes."

However, as convincing and appealing as these "escape and exclusion schemes" may be, the truth is, is that everything under the sun and even beyond the sun -- from the highest entity to the lowest -- and even between God and the smallest sub-atomic particle are subject to Karma -- or Cause and Effect. One of the main purposes of JJ Dewey's discourses on Karma is to shed "new" -- or additional light -- which hopefully corrects the many errors in thinking and understanding related to Karma.

Just as there is almost nothing in the universe that escapes this law, there is almost no topic found in these archived discourses that is not is some way affected by Karma; and therefore, it should be understood that the below articles are but a small representation of the scope of treatment of this topic by JJ Dewey.
