JJ:

First let me say that I appreciate all of our members who post here and appreciate Larry W's humor or attempt at it. When you asked me if I made up the Statesman posts I got the impression that some of the people I deal with there are almost too unbelievable to be true. You were not doubting they exist so much as the fact that the people are difficult to swallow. I agree with you. If I haven't been dealing with them myself I would have a difficult time believing that such a bunch could surface in the most Republican state in the country.

Ruth asks:

"When the 144,000 is gathered, does this then provide the external, physical manifestation and appearance for the Christ to enter the physical realm in either their bodies as a whole, or in his and/or her own body?"

JJ:

When the 144,000 manifests he will not occupy the whole body by himself but will share in the consciousness of the whole just as do the other 144,000.

The entity who has the position of the Christ either operates in his own physical body or in meditation deep works with various disciples.

Thanks John for posting information on the latest from Benjamin Cr?me. I'm always interested to see what he will come up with next.

He changes his story so often you would think his follower's heads would start spinning.

Basically Cr?me seems to be hinting at the idea that the writer activist Raj Patel is the Maitreya or the second Coming of Christ.

This is difficult to harmonize with other statements he has made. Cr?me first announced in the New York Times in the Spring of 1982 that Maitreya would reveal himself to the world on June 21 of that year. June 21 came and went and no Christ appeared. It is interesting that Raj would have only been 10 years of age at that time.

I attended a lecture he gave in 1984 and he again made a prediction of his manifestation. He stated that in the Spring of that year that Maitreya would appear on national television and by his great power he would speak to the minds of everyone in the whole would and we would all realize, as if by one mind, that this was Christ come again. At this date Raj was 12 and of course, nothing of the sort happened that Spring.

Another problem is that since 1982, Cr?me has been channeling Maitreya and has a number of books of channeled messages. Maitreya supposedly spoke through him during the lecture I attended. It is difficult to imagine a 10 or 12 year old boy being the source of most of Cr?me's teachings.

After many failed predictions he just began to stick with the idea that his coming was very near.

Now Cr?me is getting on in age and probably doesn't have much time left he most likely would like to identify someone as Maitreya so he can leave some kind of believable legacy. Raj Patel is as good a person to lay the mantle on as any for he fits well within Cr?me's belief system.

I spent a good portion of the night researching Patel and watching videos. He seems like a likeable intelligent fellow. He is very anti capitalistic and seemingly not supportive of free enterprise. He is a strong supporter of socialism and speaks favorably of communism.

What I can't gather from what I have heard so far is if he seeks to impose his philosophy on the world by force rather than working through free will. I may have to read his books to get a clear picture of this. I did hear one statement from him that indicated that he wanted he force of law to create changes.

When I encounter a teacher like this, this is always my prime concern. A person may have extremely conservative or liberal philosophies and still present good ideas, but does he want to force the ideas upon mankind in violation of free will? That is always the question.

He says he supports democracy, but many make this claim while supporting totalitarianism.

You always have to look beyond the surface words.

One thing that bothered me a bit was that when he was asked a question that sought to clarify his position he guided the interviewer toward a different subject, thus avoiding the question.

I'll let you know if and when I develop a clearer picture of this person.
