The Word

"You've talked about the 'word' in 'The Immortal,' and you have since said on the Keys list that there isn't one 'word' that Jesus spoke, it's something else. Can you talk more about the 'word' again please?"

JJ:

The first thing to understand is that a "Word" is more inclusive than as understood through the standard dictionary definition. This is illustrated by the fact that the Bible is often called "the Word of God," even though it is composed of many words.

Notice from these quotes that the Word is more than one word and refers to a variety of things.

"When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it." (Matt 13:19)

"And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them." (Mark 2:2)

"And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it." (Mark 4:33)

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1)

"He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me." (John 14:24)

Basically, the true meaning of a word is that it is a complete creation of some kind.

The Bible is a Word because it represents a great creative effort.

Jesus was "The Word" because he represented a complete human being.

A message that accomplishes a mission or purpose is also a word.

On the physical level our bodies are a word and thus can be healed by a word.

Visualize a piece of music. A note represents a word as is commonly understood. A chord represents a greater word, a stanza still greater, the complete melody greater still and the complete words and music a complete word.

Understanding the principle of the word is to understand the secret of creation.

Programming software provides insight. All computer functions are reduced to a simple binary of plus and minus. As programming advanced these are brought together into groups of many sets of binaries until there are thousands and then millions. Today at the click of one key a programmer can incorporate the intelligence of thousands of binaries.

Therefore, to create a program the creator doesn't laboriously program millions of binaries but only has to put a few composites together.

Even so it is with the word of creation. The disciple must not look upon the black and the white but should see the principle and then groups of principles. These are all words in the greater sense. The more complete the word that can be seen by the initiate the greater the power to initiate and create a final product that will be his legacy.

In the greater sense an entire life of a person is a word. The seeker becomes a person of spiritual power when he sees himself as a word composed of not just the body, but of body, soul and spirit that is connected to all there is -- the word that created the universe.
