2007 Prediction Results
Thu Jan 17, 2008 4:41 am
I thought I would go over my predictions from last year to see how I did.
Prediction 1:
"Fidel Castro will die this year and shortly afterwards relations
with the United States will improve. Control over the people will be
relaxed and the country will evolve toward a freer society with more
capitalism and prosperity."
Comments and results:
This was a definite miss. However, I did just read today that he is
too incapacitated to speak in public so his voice is dead. The mistake
I made on this one was I picked what seemed to be an easy one. Most
people thought he would die soon and I went along with this without
even trying to tune into the soul. I did sense what would happen
after he dies and expect that to materialize.
Prediction 2:
"Venezuela will go the opposite direction and become more
communistic and controlled by Hugo Chavez. He will continue in his
determination to hurt the United States and will secretly cooperate
with terrorists."
Comments and results:
This one was right on the money. He has taken control of the media
and has taken steps to nationalize the economy. He has stated this
year he wants to hurt this country by cutting us off from his oil.
Prediction 3:
"Look for more weather disasters this year and more damage by fire."
Comments and results:
This was again very accurate as this has indeed been the year of fire
damage and they were fueled by weather that made them difficult to
contain.
Prediction 4:
"New England will win the Super Bowl. (If I was 100 percent sure on
this I would place some bets.)"
Comments and results:
When I made this prediction I received a definite impulse that went
something like this: "The force is with the Patriots." In the final
playoff against the Colts they were ahead 20 points at the half and it
appeared they were headed toward the Superbowl. Then they blew one of
the greatest leads in playoff history. Even having the force with
them some bungling and flukes cannot make any prediction in football
100 percent accurate.
However, my impression has proved accurate because they have so far
secured an undefeated season with the longest string of victories in
one season in the history of football. I won't say with 100 percent
conviction that they will win the 2008 Superbowl, but I'd give odds at 60 percent.
Prediction 5:
"There will be a division in the Democratic party because the new
majority will seem to have little effect in slowing down Bush in the
war in Iraq. The 2008 Democratic convention will be a turbulent affair
bringing back memories of the 1968 convention."
Comments and results:
There is a major division in the party but because the extremists are
so vocal it seems that the whole party has moved to the far left.
Such is not the case and many Democrats do not want to identify with
the far left but want to move toward the middle. Hillary, who voted
for the war and recently said she will keep troops in Iraq, has been
doing her best to satisfy the far left groups - groups that are even
to the left of her. Even so these extremists are not satisfied with
her record and some of her more moderate views are a thorn in the side
to them.
We can't give a definite yes or no on this until later in the year as
the division is not as pronounced as it will be. The present conflict
between Hillary and Obama gives some evidence of the rising division.
Prediction 6:
"Frustrated Democrats who cannot stop Bush will call for all kinds
of investigations."
Comments and results:
This has come true as Democrats have called for every possible
investigation one can imagine.
Prediction 7:
"Mitt Romney will get the Republican nomination (2008) and Barack
Obama will seem to be headed for the Democrat nomination, but Hilary
Clinton will work behind the scenes to sabotage him. Watch for dirt
surfacing on him - even so he still has a good chance of success."
Comments and results:
Romney won Michigan Tuesday and seems to be heading for
victory. We'll find out soon.
Obama does seem to be headed for the nomination and there is a lot of
evidence that the Clinton campaign has subtly released dirt on him as
noted in previous posts.
Inside sources say that the Clintons currently have some damaging
information on drug use, or possibly the selling of drugs, that they
are holding on to. They are now weighing whether or not releasing the
information could create a backlash and damage Hillary more than
Obama. The Clintons are beside themselves.
Prediction 8:
"There are several terrorists attacks planned against the United
States this year. We have a 50-50 chance of stopping them."
Comments and results:
This came true and fortunately for us luck was with us and the attacks
were prevented. Unsuccessful attacks do not receive much press but
there were two that we know of:
The first is the JFK Plot in June, 2007. Four men plotted to blow up a
jet fuel artery that runs through residential neighborhoods at the
John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. If this had
been successful it would have created more damage than happened on 911.
The second is the Fort Dix Plot, May 2007.
Six men were arrested in a plot against Fort Dix, a U.S. Army base in
New Jersey. The plan included attacking and killing soldiers using
assault rifles and grenades.
Prediction 9:
"Watch for tax increases followed by economic slowdown."
Comments and results:
Right after assuming power Democrats proposed a $3.3 trillion dollar
tax increase over a ten year period with a plan to eliminate the Bush
Tax cuts. 98 Billion in tax increases has been approved with much
more to come.
The economy did slow down in 2007 triggered by high oil prices and the
housing slump.
Prediction 10:
"I know a breakthrough is coming on increasing exposure of the
teachings, but do not know when. I do believe significant progress
will be made this year."
Comments and results:
Progress is being made, but nothing obvious. This was a fairly
nebulous prediction so it shouldn't score any points in either
direction.
Prediction 11:
"The dollar will lose strength against the Euro."
Comments and results:
This was right on. The dollar reached all time lows against the Euro.
Prediction 12:
"There will be a threat to our foreign oil supply causing us to
look more seriously at developing more oil independence here. Some
very illogical and impractical ideas will be presented but some
progress will be made. Even some environmentalists and liberals will
be looking at nuclear energy."
Comment: This one was right on.
Chavez of Venezuela has threatened to cut of his oil from the United
States and world demand has caused it to shoot to an all time high
creating further threat. Impractical ideas have been presented but
even some environmentalists are now looking at nuclear energy.
Prediction 13:
"The Oscars:
Best Picture - The Departed
Best Actor - Forest Whitacker
Best Actress - Helen Mirren"
Comments and results:
These were exact predictions and they were 100 percent correct.
Now let's look at my score:
- No
- Yes
- Yes
- No (but close)
- Uncertain
- Yes
- Two Parts Uncertain on Romney nomination, but looks like it will happen.
Second part Yes
- Yes
- Two Parts: Yes and Yes
- Indefinite
- Yes
- Yes
- Three Yeses on the academy awards.
Now let us add them up:
- Correct Predictions: 12
- Incorrect: 2
- Cannot yet tell: 3
Out of 14 that can definitely be proven correct or incorrect I got 12
right or a 85 percent accuracy. That's not bad when some of the greatest
prophets of the past only reached about 50 percent.
Most spiritual; teachers when making a prophecy claim an infallible
spiritual connection with God, Zor or some other entity. These
rarely get anything right, gut will not admit their mistakes. I
never make such a claim for no one can know all the details of the
future because of free will. I did not expect to be 100 percent accurate
when I made the predictions. In fact I'm pleased I reached 85 percent. I
will not make another set of predictions but may from timer to time
reveal my impressions as they come to me.
