True Reality

Wow, Woody. Can your thinking be any more upside down? I know I've taught to always look at the other side of things for truth but looking on the Father giving direction to Jesus as Hitler barking out orders is beyond the pale.

Here is your version of the way things are.

A wild man with a gun busts in your house and tells you that he happens to know that there is a million dollars worth or gold buried in your back yard and he's going to force you to dig it up.

He gives you a shovel and forces you to start digging. It takes twelve hours of hard work to accomplish the effort. The wild man doesn't give you anything to eat or drink and whips you several times because he's in a hurry to get the gold and he loves to see you suffer.

Finally, you do reach the gold. The wild man gives you a few ounces for your effort and runs off with the rest.

Now let's look at the way things really are within the divine order.

You meet another man who begins to teach you many things -- some are difficult to believe. Rather than just accept blindly you decide to test the teachings and check them out. You test them time and time again and find them to be accurate.

Finally, he visits you and tells you something very difficult to accept. He tells you there is a million dollars worth of gold buried in your back yard. If you are willing to spend 12 difficult hours of work digging it up he will split it with you.

You think this is crazy because it would be virtually impossible for that much gold to be buried there -- but then you reflect on what he has taught you in the past and how his teachings have never failed. If the teacher has never been dishonest with you in the past why would he be so now?

After strenuous thought you say you will cooperate and ask the teacher where to dig. He takes you to the location and shows you the spot. Then he says he will return in twelve hours for he has other work to do.

You are left alone and feel pretty silly beginning the work, especially when your family wants to know what in the blazes you are doing destroying the lawn.

After the twelve hours has passed you find the gold and the stranger returns. You both have great joy in sharing the reward.

In the second example which corresponds to reality was the student forced to dig? No. Was the teacher like Hitler? Of course not.

Even so, Jesus or any other disciple goes forward with the fourth initiation because of the proven trust he has on the inner voice and the prospect of the gold at the end of the rainbow.
