John's (Joshua's) reasoning appeared to be ok. Yet, there is a flaw in it since he ignored another possibility. We are talking about an imperfect god who is not created by the Perfect God, but by one in the Hierarchy of divine beings called Sophia.

In the Gnostic doctrine the Demiurg, the halfgod, the imperfect god,

The Gnostics say that the Demiurg is responsible for the material world...

Now, how was the Demiurg created? Not by the Perfect God. The Demiurg was created by Sophia, a being of Wisdom and gifted with the talent to also create.

So who created Sophia? I think no matter how you spin it you'll see that Joshua's logic was solid.

By the way, you missed my point entirely about the polarization of Democrats and Republicans. If one is polarized in the mind it doesn't mean he is devoid of emotional influence.

Neither was I presenting a discussion of who is right or who is wrong.. The point of the article is to identify the polarization of the two parties.

Wherever there is an opposing duality one has to be polarized in the on one side and the other on the opposite. It sounds like you are saying the Republicans and Democrats are exactly the same. They are not, or they could not be in opposition.

Or are you saying the Democrats represent the mind and the Republicans the heart?
