Larry expressed his opinion that Book 4 is not as good as the other volumes. I think part of the reason for this is that as the books have progressed I have put more attention on teaching rather than story telling.

This is a unique series, attempting to create a delicate balance of teaching and story which is difficult to do for the story has to be interrupted on and off to make way for teachings. Unlike a pure fiction book this means that a writer cannot have a full book to completely develop a story.

Michael Crichton mixed truth and fiction in his recent book State of Fear and I thought the story dragged - so even seasoned authors have difficulty with this.

I would like more feedback from those of you have read the whole series. How would you rate Book 4 in relation to the other volumes?

Here is my own rating. If I were new to this series I would rate Book 4 as the most interesting. Next would be Books one and two (as one volume). Finally Book 3. Even so, I would say the difference between them from a viewpoint of general reader interest would not be that high - maybe 10% average.

Anyway, let me know what you think.
