Another Cycle

Gar,
Interesting discourse, but we have heard it dozens of times before. It seems that every couple months a new evangelist of the great nothingness comes here and attempts to use mind to convince us not to use mind. Then they attempt to use emotion to convince us to not use emotion.

Then they preach to us that we are a deluded backward bunch and need to see what they see, but what they see cannot be placed in thought, word or deed so no understanding is added.

Finally, when they are not accepted as the avatar of the group they tell us that we are lacking love, and this they do in the most unloving manner.

Some go to great lengths to distract the list from its topic and place attention upon themselves feeling that their message is of extreme importance and if they irritate the people on the list by taking them on a course they do not wish to pursue then it is worth it.

The next step is that members start to complain and want to get back on the teaching course.

Finally, the zealot leaves the list, but about half hang around for a while writing private e-mails attempting to convince certain list members that I am in great illusion and must not be listened to. Instead they must follow them to the land of nirvana - all the time insisting they are not seeking followers.

Now, I'm not saying you will follow any certain course, but those with your philosophy who have come here in the past have been amazingly similar in their approach, criticism, judgmental mindset and attempts to draw attention their pet doctrine rather than participate in the class.

That said I do have a question for you that no one with your philosophy has yet answered.

You tell us to not use mind, to let it go, for the truth is beyond mind and words. Why then do you use mind and words in an attempt to convince us to enter this great reality you describe? Isn't that an exercise in futility? Isn't it being hypocritical for you to do that which you tell us not to do?

You seem to assume that members here have not had as great a spiritual experience as yourself and preach to us of letting go of our attachments assuming that we have many that obviously you believe you do not have.

Why do you assume such a vantage point of superiority and why do you assume limited spiritual experiences by members of this list?

We hope that you are indeed free enough from attachments that you do not attempt to force us back on a topic that the members have heard discussed more than any other. Generally, they like to move on to new and stimulating teachings.

I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: "O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous." And God granted it. Voltaire (1694 - 1778)
