Joel writes:
Had a weird dream this morning my alarm went off and my first thought was "give council to the Lord." What does that mean? I went downstairs very tired because it is 4:30am and I tried to meditate and even before I did I knew that wasn't what I needed to do so then I figured that a lot of times the higher entities come to you in dreams so I went back to bed. No dreams that related to the phrase. So then I prayed and still nothing I should have prayed for understanding of the phrase. I looked up council in the dictionary and it states "a group of people called together for consultation, advice, etc." The other counsel is spelled different and has a little different meaning it's "a mutual exchange of ideas, opinions, etc." One is a group another is singular.
The phrase sounds familiar I think it's from the Bible but I am not well enough versed in scripture to know for sure. Any opinions on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

JJ:
The scriptures tell us to take council from God. Based on this the interpretation would mean you are supposed to give God the opportunity to counsel you. In other words, listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Here are a couple scriptures from the Book of Mormom:

Wherefore, brethren, seek not to counsel the Lord, but to take counsel from his hand. For behold, ye yourselves know that he counseleth in wisdom, and in justice, and in great mercy, over all his works. Jacob 4:10

Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day. Alma 37:37

From DK:
Let him work first of all for alignment with his soul and then meditate, for from his own soul, his true counsel must come....

His word is power. His light, electric. The lightning is his symbol. His will is hidden in the counsel of his thought.

I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. Neo - The Matrix
