I feel badly that your feelings were hurt by G.I. Joe, but this was his first post to the list and we rarely reject a first post even if the individual is venting his feelings or negative opinions. Unless a post is over the top we usually allow several negative posts before we start rejecting.
The purpose of moderation for the list was not to filter out all negative opinion, but to keep the negativity from getting out of control.
The first couple years we had no moderation at all and what produced the most complaints from members was not negativity toward other members, but rambling off topic posts.
In determining rejection we attempt to go by the mood of the list as a whole and repeat offenders of negativity get less consideration than one who makes an occasional attack or venting of feelings.
John, I want you to know that I appreciate the effort you put in to your posts. There are times that you are the only one to comment on some point I make and you have often lifted my spirits.
I also appreciate Bryan. He has put in a lot of time in all the posts he has made. Some of them are a little long, but so what? Some of them are quite interesting.
In short I appreciate all your posts and have positive feelings toward all who are presently posting on the Keys.
Keep up the good work my friends and if you haven't posted for a while go ahead - make my day - take the plunge.
