John writes:
"Tyranny,

a situation where absolute power is in the hands of an individual or group, and such power is cruelly used to satisfy the desires of the individual or group with no regard to the pain and suffering of the subjects who are forced to obey or suffer death, unjust imprisonment, excommunication or torture [while] the power of the cruelty of the tyrant is so pervasive that the majority of the people live in fear of expressing any type of opposition, by the majority is almost non existent,"

That would have cleared "everything" up! I mean, who could disagree with that? :) Certainly in that kind of tyranny, there would no one _willing_ to disagree with, well just about anything. Perhaps you might consider adding something in the margins to explain that this is what you meant? I know that that would have saved the group some 30 or 40 thousand typed words, and saved you a lot of sleep.

JJ:
Actually, I did give that definition last Saturday in the post called "Defining Tyranny." Maybe you missed it. Larry seems to indicate he missed it too. Maybe this will help clear things up as to how I look at it.
