Do you think it is a disadvantage to be born with no awareness of where you came from, what you are supposed to do and how you are supposed to do it?

I thought I would make a few comments on your feedback on this question.
J'ai pens? faire quelques commentaires sur vos r?ponses ? cette question.
The general idea some expressed here is that it is a blessing that we are born here with a blank slate for if we could remember our past lives a large distraction would be produced.
L'id?e g?n?rale que certains ont exprim?e ici est que c'est une b?n?diction que nous soyons n?s ici avec une ardoise blanche car si nous pouvions nous souvenir de nos vies pass?es, une grande distraction serait produite.
For instance, if you were a king or queen in a past life it and could remember this it would be difficult to handle being one of the masses.
Par exemple, si vous ?tiez un roi ou une reine dans une vie pass?e et pouviez vous souvenir de cel? il serait difficile de supporter de faire partie des masses.
If you were a bad guy in a past life and could remember, this would make it more difficult to concentrate on being a good guy in this life.
Si vous ?tiez un m?chant gars dans une vie pass?e et pouviez vous en souvenir, cel? rendrait plus difficile de se concentrer sur ?tre un bon gars dans cette vie.
There is a certain amount of truth to this idea and I believe I have written about it in the past, but there are misunderstandings also.
Il y a une certaine quantit? de v?rit? dans cette id?e et je crois que j'ai ?crit ? ce propos dans le pass?, mais il y a aussi des incompr?hensions.
Life is a school and the circumstances for maximum learning in the early years must be different than those for the later period.
La vie est une ?cole et les circonstances pour un apprentissage maximum dans les premi?res ann?es doivent ?tre diff?rentes de celles pour une p?riode plus tardive.
In this human cycle of progression we go through three cycles of learning.
(1) The Cycle of Experience. Here we learn through experience, or trial and error. This is the longest schooling period and learning is at glacier speed for numerous lifetimes. There is very little progression in this period without going through painful lessons which we desire not to repeat. It is essential in this cycle that the pilgrim not recall his past lives for it would only serve to distract him.
Dans ce cycle humain de progression nous passons par trois cycles d'apprentissage.
(1) Le Cycle d'Exp?rience. Ici nous apprenons ? travers l'exp?rience, ou l'essai et l'erreur. C'est la p?riode scolaire la plus longue et l'apprentissage se fait ? la vitesse du glacier pour de nombreuses vies. Il y a tr?s peu de progression dans cette p?riode sans passer par des le?ons douloureuses que nous ne d?sirons pas r?p?ter. Il est essentiel dans ce cycle que le p?lerin ne se souvienne pas de ses vies ant?rieures car ?a servirait seulement ? le distraire.
(2) The Cycle of Seeking. After learning all that can be had through circumstances acting upon him leading him to circumstances not of his choosing, the entity begins to ask questions and seek for answers. He wants to know where he came from, why he is here and where he is going. He wants to know the purpose of things, he wants to understand and commune with whatever God is and he wants to know what he is supposed to do next.
(2) Le Cycle de la Recherche. Apr?s avoir appris tout ce qui peut ?tre obtenu ? travers les circonstances qui agissent sur lui le menant ? des circonstances qui ne sont pas de son choix, l'entit? commence ? poser des questions et ? rechercher des r?ponses. Il veut savoir d'o? il est venu, pourquoi il est l? et o? il va. Il veut connaitre le but des choses, il veut comprendre et communier avec quelque soit le Dieu qui existe et il veut savoir ce qu'il est suppos? faire ensuite.
The seeker here may get glimpses of his past and mission, but there are many pieces to the puzzle and he obtains them one by one through great effort. Still he knows within that much is withheld from him.
Le chercheur ici peut obtenir des visions fugitives de son pass? et de sa mission, mais il y a beaucoup de pi?ces du puzzle et il les obtient une par une avec grand effort. Pourtant il sait ? l'int?rieur que beaucoup est retenu ? l'?cart de lui.
(3) The Cycle of Service. When the disciple begins this period he still does not have all the answers, but has some answers. His learning through seeking has taught him one important lesson and that is that his brothers and sisters in the world are crying out for many needs and something within him presses him onward to serve. He thus begins the path of service, often even forgetting his quest to seek and find.
(3) Le Cycle de Service. Quand le disciple commence cette p?riode il n'a toujours pas toutes les r?ponses, mais il a des r?ponses. Son apprentissage par la recherche lui a appris une importante lesson et c'est que ses fr?res et soeurs dans le monde appellent ? l'aide pour beaucoup de besoins et quelque chose en lui le presse en avant ? servir. Il commence donc la voie du service, souvent en oubliant sa qu?te de rechercher et trouver.
To his delight he discovers that when he forgets the needs of his self, even the need of his own enlightenment, that he receives more learning and at an accelerated rate than he received during the seeking period. He finds that when he applies himself to selfless service that learning comes to him from "on high" that gives him everything he needs to know to do his job which is in alignment with higher purpose.
Pour son d?lice il d?couvre que quand il oublie les besoins de son moi, m?me les besoins de sa propre illumination, il re?oit plus d'apprentissage et ? un rythme plus acc?l?r? que pendant sa p?riode de recherche. Il d?couvre que quand il s'applique au service impersonnel un apprentissage vient ? lui "d'en haut" qui lui donne tout ce dont il a besoin de savoir pour faire son travail qui est en alignement avec un but sup?rieur.
The principle is this:
"Serve and you will be given power to serve."
Le principe est celui-ci :
"Sers et il te sera donn? pouvoir de servir."
When picking a field of selfless service you will be given what you need to know to do your job. If you need to clearly understand the current mission it will be given. If the memory of a past life will be helpful it will be given. If you need a piece of knowledge that has never been revealed then it will also be given.
Quand vous choisirez un champ de service impersonnel il vous sera donn? ce dont vous avez besoin de savoir pour faire votre travail. Si vous avez besoin de comprendre clairement la mission en cours cel? sera donn?. Si la m?moire d'une vie pass?e sera une aide elle sera donn?e. Si vous avez besoin d'une pi?ce de connaissance qui n'a jamais ?t? r?v?l?e alors elle sera donn?e aussi.
If you rise above the ego you will be given all you seek to successfully complete your field of service.
Si vous vous ?levez au dessus de l'?go il vous sera donn? tout ce que vous recherchez pour accomplir avec succ?s votre champ de service.
As the disciple continues to serve, more is given until he either intuitively or consciously understands the answer to every question that he has.
Comme le disciple continue de servir il est donn? plus jusqu'? ce qu'il comprenne intuitivement ou consciemment la r?ponse ? toute question qu'il se pose.
The answers he now receives would not have been helpful to a person in the experience cycle, but they are indeed helpful and empowering to him.
Les r?ponses qu'il re?oit maintenant n'auraient pas ?t? une aide pour une personne dans le cycle d'exp?rience, mais elles sont en effet porteuses d'aide et de pouvoir pour lui.
