The Gathering Of Lights, Chapter Thirty-Three

Only two types of people can act with a great degree of oneness. The first are those who are strongly dependent on an authority figure. They are either forced by law to be obedient to this person or group or they substitute him for their image of God and follow his dictates like a dumb animal.

This group is able to act with a good deal of common thought and objective, but their goals are always an imperfect reflection of a long since dead avatar or initiate. Here we have "the blind leading the blind and together they fall into the ditch." (Matthew 15:14). Sure, they are unified, but it isn't much more advantageous to fall into the ditch collectively than individually. Their foundation is made of sand (Matthew 7:26), and they have no oil in their lamps (Matthew 25:1-13), and when their leader falls, or makes a mistake, they fall right along with him.

The second group consists of those who have developed soul contact and the intuition. These "lean not on the arm of flesh, " [Doctrine & Covenants (D&C) 1:19] but stand on the foundation of rock. These are not necessarily "obedient,"  nor do they blindly follow a leader, but they can intuitively ascertain the truth of doctrine taught by those who may have struggled further into the light than themselves. They see "eye to eye" with other intuitives, and do not "obey" them, for they lean not on the arm of flesh. Instead, they act through a process of simultaneous response. When the chord of truth is played by the God within it rings the same strings in the neophyte's soul that also vibrated in the teacher, and in an instant they understand each other. The landscape of truth that was painted for the teacher earlier is also painted for the learner, their spirits are intertwined and their joy is full. The two are now in spiritual Zion. They see eye to eye and are one in a manner that the average person cannot conceive in his highest moments.

"With their voice together shall they sing...." (Isaiah 52:8) The word "sing" comes from the Hebrew RANAN which means "to cry aloud for joy" or "to shout for joy." "Voice together" indicates their unity of thought and speech.

"When the Lord shall bring again Zion" (Isaiah 52:8) could also be translated as "When the Lord returns to Zion." The second seems quite appropriate, for what would cause the watchmen to shout for joy more than the Lord's return? Ironically both renderings represent truth, and that is what is important.

"Break forth into joy, sing (RANAN) together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations: and the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God." (Isaiah 52:9-10)

When Zion is established and the Master returns, all his people will cry aloud for joy. "He hath redeemed Jerusalem" means that he is recognized as the Master by the inhabitants of Jerusalem, or by those with peace in their hearts. All the earth shall see the power of God and be affected by the miraculous change which shall be wrought upon the earth.

"Depart ye, depart ye, go out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her (Babylon); be ye clean (do not worship the false idols), that bear the vessels of the Lord. For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the Lord will go before you; and the Lord God of Israel will be your rereward." (Isaiah 52:11-12)

Here we see that Zion will be established through Israelites coming out of Babylon, but it will not be an event that will take place in great haste because the world will end the next day, but it will be a well planned process.

The Lord will go before them means that the first ones to accept the gathering message will depend on the God within and some will be overshadowed by Higher Beings and also receive portions of the Shamballa energy.

"Rereward" is more correctly rendered as "gatherer." It should read:   "The God of Israel will be your gatherer."

God will give revelation to disciples and teachers to assist in bringing about the gathering.

This process, in the beginning, will have certain disciples being of one mind with the Christ and possibly the Ancient of Days. The gathering will be perfected by the physical presence of Christ and other Masters.

"Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. As many were astonished at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men." (Isaiah 52:13-14)

This prophecy refers to the Christ, and also another servant who will work through the Christ consciousness and the wisdom aspect of the Christ energy.

This servant will deal "prudently", or more correctly rendered "intelligently." He will not go by blind faith himself, not expect people to blindly follow him, but shall appeal to the mind and reason rather than the emotions. This will exalt him far above any "Sunday morning preacher" you may hear.

Many will be astonished and wonder at him. The Hebrew is close to meaning "devastated." Why is this? Because the Christ, or a servant of Christ, is in reality exactly the opposite of the pious image (Babylonian image) that the average man paints of him.

The icon that is worshipped is not the Christ, but a dim astral reflection with no intelligence. People will be startled when they discover the Christ or a servant with his Spirit. They will find out that "his visage was so marred more than any man."

"Visage" comes from MAREH which does not refer to the physical body so much as it does virtue or character.

Because it is written that his visage was marred more than any man some think this was referring to Christ's crucifixion, but even in this affliction he was not physically marred more than "any man." There are many who have been torn from limb to limb, mutilated or burned and tortured more than the Christ was.

Others think this is a future servant who will be extremely mutilated or wounded, but when we look at the Hebrew we see a meaning that makes much more sense than this.

People will be devastated by the real Christ and his servants and find out that the character and true virtues of Christ and his disciples have been misrepresented more than any other man or set of men and woman. That which has been extolled as the virtues of Christ is upside-down as to what will be praised in him.

The true servant of Christ will project an image that will also be the opposite of the piousness most expect of a minister. One of the things that will astonish many will be his cooperation with science and technology.

Through the centuries astrally grounded men have marred the character of Christ and his servants and made them seem far removed from the average seeker, but the son of Righteousness will soon appear with healing in his wings and "we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him (a brother); for we shall see him as he is." (1 John 3:2)

Conclusion:   Christ and his servants are maligned in character more than any others. Whoever is sent on a mission for the Christ will usually be seen as evil rather than good by the masses until the time of understanding comes.

His "form" will be marred "more than the sons of men."  "Form" here comes from TOAR which literally means "outline" or "figure" and would refer to the physical body of the servant.  "Men" comes from the Hebrew ADAM, the same as the first man. His form was not perfect, or was marred more than other sons of Adam. We know that Christ was physically marred through the crucifixion, but his servants are often marred in some way to keep them humble. The great initiate, Paul, was marred for this reason:

"And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure ... Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (2 Corinthians 12:7-10)

We thus see that there are two marrings. The first is the character of Christ and the servant which is greatly distorted and the second is some type of visible imperfection of the physical body.

"So shall he sprinkle (purify, or gather) many nations; the kings (leaders of governments) shall shut their mouths at him (They will listen without interrupting): for that which had not been told them (the way of peace) shall they see; and that which they had not heard (the order of Zion) shall they consider." (Isaiah 52:15)

Even though his character will be maligned eventual success will come that will heal the wounds and distortions, and the leaders of the nations will take notice and listen to the message.

This verse is a parallel to a prophecy uttered by Christ:

"When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels (messengers) with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory (Zion): And before him shall be GATHERED ALL NATIONS: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats." (Matthew 25:31-32)

The nations represented by the sheep will join and pattern their governments after the Ensign whereas the goats will continue to resist, but Zion will have power "to rebuke strong nations afar off" (Micah 4:3), so those who do not join Zion will not have power to break the peace.

Various initiates who work in cooperation with the Christ will pave the way for the gathering of the nations, by first gathering a few people and building the first cities of Zion.  Zion will be the throne from which the law of Christ will go forth and the word of God from Jerusalem.

The long years of darkness are coming to an end and the New Age is truly dawning upon us. We are now living in the time that all prophets and holy men had visions and dreams of, but were not able to taste for themselves. Finally, the day of the building of Zion is possible. It is possible because now, for the first time in history, there are enough men and women of intuition living on the earth to make it manifest. Unto these Israelites the ancient word of the Lord is his word today:

"Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married to you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and will bring you to Zion: And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding... At that time they shall call Jerusalem (City of Peace) the throne of the Lord; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart." (Jeremiah 3:14-17)

Come, fellow Israelites. Let us build the throne of the Lord. Let there be finally a place on the earth where he (Christ) may have to rest his head. Let Zion manifest and the New Jerusalem descend from heaven. Let us commune with the church of the Firstborn.

"May Christ return to earth." (From "The Great Invocation.")
