The Light of the World

Interesting article on anti matter Samu. I read many years ago that some scientists theorize that some galaxies are made of anti matter. Have you heard of any follow up study on this?

I noticed we are still getting comments on the first seed thought. This is good and illustrates the value of sustained reflection upon a thought. A day or so is not enough to do a seed thought justice, but it serves our learning purposes.

Today's Seed Thought:

"I am the light of the world."

What comes to you as you think on this my friends?

No one mentions the questioning principle. Let's see what questions we can ask here. We've already defined light so that is not necessary.

Let's look at the first two words which are "I am."

Should they be written as I AM or perhaps Jesus was even thinking of I AM BECOMING? Was Jesus referring to the God presence which is within us all?

When he told us to be one with him as he is one with his Father was this not an invitation for us to also become lights to the world?

Is it not interesting that he not only declared himself to be the light of the world but also said to his disciples: "Ye are the light of the world." Mat 5:14

What does he mean by world? The word comes from KOSMOS which implies the current system or order of things.

How else can we translate thus verse?

Here is a possibility:

That which is BECOMING within me reveals light and truth within the current order or the world.

If you are a light to the world and light is produced by contrast would this not indicate that you should live a life that appears in sharp contrast to average Joe six pack?

Continue to contemplate this phrase and give us your impressions as to how it's meaning applies to you.

"You can lead a horse to water, but if you can get him to float on his back, you've got something."
